  • Advanced booking is recommended due to popularity

The Bone & Joint Center is located inside Mount Elizabeth Hospital, which is a 5-minute walk from the Orchard Station bus stop.

It has regular business hours from Monday to Friday but closes relatively early on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, it is available in one area on the island. For those who live outside the Orchard area, you may experience heavy traffic trying to reach the place.

The Bone & Joint Center has a rather small team. Having said that, individuals have mentioned that they had some trouble booking sessions that require immediate attention.

Regardless, this medical establishment is well-regarded for its competent and warm staff and doctors.

The team is spearheaded by Dr. Kevin Koo Oon Thien, who has over 15 years of experience. He mainly specializes in musculoskeletal foot and ankle injuries and other common orthopedic issues.

Moreover, he was the former chief director of the Foot and Ankle Service at Singapore General Hospital and has been tackling orthopedic ankle issues since 2007.

Dr. Kevin has the experience and equipment to handle a broad range of orthopedic issues, whether it is sports-related or recurring injuries.

However, if budget is a priority, this clinic may not be your option. It is in the pricier bracket compared to other medical establishments on this list.

It also has a second branch located in Parkway East Medical, which is perfect for those who live in the Katong area.

It has regular operating hours but closes rather early on Saturdays.

Axis Orthopaedic is well-known for its minimally invasive foot and ankle procedures. This clinic specializes in trauma injuries, degenerative diseases like arthritis, and all sorts of orthopedic ailments.

This medical establishment is led by Dr. Seng Chusheng, who has over 10 years of clinical experience and is a recipient of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association Traveling Fellowship in 2012.

He particularly focuses on sports reconstruction surgery and managing orthopedic traumas. He is also knowledgeable in minimally invasive surgeries for the foot and ankle.

That being said, if you are looking for conservative options to handle your ankle issues, Dr. Seng should be at your list. He is able to perform intricate operations such as ligament repairs and even total ankle replacement.

The clients we spoke to appreciated the customer service at Axis Orthopedic. They particularly liked that it offers teleconsultations. This enables them to communicate and diagnose issues without needing to leave the house, especially if they’re already injured.

The downside we gathered from our interviews is that the rates here can be quite steep. However, most clients approve of Dr. Seng and his staff’s prompt services and friendly approach.

For instance, the receptionist sends out appointment notifications several days before the date so that patients are always aware and updated.

This clinic is led by Dr. Sean Ng, who has over 10 years of clinical experience. He is also the head surgeon and specializes in foot and ankle surgeries and repairs.

Ardmore has a broad range of screening services from X-rays to MRI scans. This is ideal for those individuals who have serious ankle injuries or anyone suffering recurring pain.

Dr. Sean can find out the root cause and prescribe the necessary treatment to quickly alleviate medical concerns.

Furthermore, Ardmore offers exceptional rehabilitation services, which are necessary for most ankle injuries. These protocols help individuals solve their problems and keep joints and muscles strong for a more sustainable solution.

Because of its comprehensive and diverse ankle care, clients feel and know they’re in good hands.

However, this all-in-one establishment has expensive rates. Be that as it may, it is a great destination that offers complete ankle care from screening, services, and surgery to rehabilitation.

Furthermore, the traffic on Thomson Road can be quite heavy during peak hours of the week.

The International Orthopaedics ankle expert, Dr. Alan Cheung, is a well-known foot and ankle specialist on the island. Individuals we spoke to noted that Dr. Alan and his team

work swiftly in managing ailments and providing care.

Moreover, this clinic has partnered with physical therapists, which enables it to deliver individualized foot and ankle rehabilitation services.

It has high-tech surgical equipment that can be used for intricate surgeries such as ligament repair and manipulation.

Furthermore, it has in-house screening theaters for MRI scans or X-rays, which allows doctors to promptly diagnose ankle problems.

Dr. Alan is also a World Rugby Doctor and used to play himself as well. He is knowledgeable about musculoskeletal injuries that happen in sports and similar activities.

Having said that, if you are an athlete who is looking for an ankle doctor that understands your lifestyle and needs, this clinic should be your initial destination.

As expected, the services also come with expensive rates. However, it’s not as pricey as the other clinics on this list because it accepts insurance to keep other services down.

Double-check with your insurance provider to make sure you get the lowest bill possible.

It has regular operating hours but closes early on Saturdays. However, it has another branch located in Novena, which is perfect for those who live in the Central Region.

This clinic is led by Dr. Kannan Kaliyaperumal, who has more than 10 years of experience as a foot and ankle doctor. He also has an international background, having practiced in Switzerland and Ireland.

Having said that, Dr. Kannan is among the foot and ankle specialists in Singapore. He has experience working with all kinds of orthopedic concerns of young and old individuals.

What clients liked about the Specialist Orthopaedic Centre is that its foot and ankle rehabilitation and recovery program is different, depending on the individual’s age.

This helps those much older patients to have a more focused approach to movements that translate to everyday functions such as bending, walking, and overall balance.

Whereas, in younger clients, it’s a bit of a mix of basic biomechanics such as the ones mentioned earlier with some higher intensity activities.

Dr. Kannan can evaluate and advise the most ideal plan for your ankle issues.

Even though the clinic’s services are quite expensive, it accepts several health insurance providers. This helps keep some of its services within the range of most budgets.
