Pros
- Veteran head dentist
- Easily accessible via public transport
- Flexible payment options
- Offers a wide variety of braces options
Cons
- Other resident dentists don’t fully inform patients about the procedure
- Closed on Sundays
A Line Dental Braces is one of the former clients’ most recommended clinics for those looking to get braces done. It’s under the leadership of Dr. Tan Lam Seng, a world-renowned orthodontist with experience dating back to 1994.
To start, the clinic is very accessible. It’s only a 1-minute walk if you stop at the Aft City Hall bus stop or the taxi stand at the National Gallery.
We also want to point out that it is closed on Sundays, so it may not be the best choice if you have a very busy schedule.
One of the highlights of the clinic is its flexible rates. Getting braces done can be quite expensive, to say the least. But with its affordable monthly installments, clients are given the best opportunity to start right away.
Another thing worth noting is the variety of braces you can have done here. Other than the commonly known metal braces, it also offers ceramic braces for those who are appearance-conscious.
Ceramic braces provide the same function as metal braces, minus the bulky appearance. It’s a more subtle look for those not wanting to catch too much attention.
However, we do want to point out that we’ve gathered some complaints from previous clients about the other dentists in this clinic. For instance, one former patient said her dentist shaved some of her teeth without consent.
We do recognize that it was necessary for the procedure, but part of customer service is fully informing the client of the steps to be taken and walking them through the process so that they can gain some peace of mind.

Pros
- 5-minute walk from the Orchard Station bus stop
- Has a free loop service
- Head doctor has 20 years of experience
- Offers alternatives to braces
- Has a loyal clientele
Cons
- Braces can be too uncomfortable and tight
- Closed on Sundays
Mount Elizabeth Orthodontic Clinic or MEOC for short is a well-renowned clinic under the expert care of Dr. Lim Hong Meng. He has dedicated himself to the industry over the last two decades.
We want to point out that Mount Elizabeth Hospital is only a 5-minute walk when you get down at the Orchard Station bus stop at Lucky Plaza. It also has a loop service you can use between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.
Take note, busy bees, that MEOC is closed on Sundays. So schedule accordingly when you plan to visit the clinic.
While its metal and ceramic braces are its key services, we also gathered plenty of positive feedback from previous customers on its clear aligners — a more modern take on braces.
Clear aligners are 3D printed transparent molds of a customer’s teeth. It’s basically a mouthpiece you’d change every 1 to 2 weeks to slowly adjust your teeth as braces would.
However, several customers we spoke to say they had a difficult time getting their braces done. While we do acknowledge that having braces is really a chore, we heard complaints about the braces being too tight or uncomfortable.
Perhaps this is the reason most people prefer clear aligners over traditional braces.
Regardless of your preference, in our opinion, Dr. Lim and his team are well-loved by most of their previous customers. They walk customers through the procedure and guide them on how to get used to life having braces or clear aligners.
We have found some customers who have been going to MEOC their entire lives, which is a testament to the clinic’s great service.

Pros
- 1-minute walking distance from Royal Thai Embassy bus stop
- Veteran orthodontist
- Most modern technology for braces
Cons
- Rates are expensive
- Hard to schedule a booking
- Closed on Sundays
Embrace Dental Surgery is one of the names that keep popping out when looking for recommendations for the best clinics to get braces. This is mainly because of Dr. Tan Kok Liang.
With over 20 years as an orthodontist specialist, Dr. Tan offers plenty of orthodontic options for his clients, both conventional and modern. His wealth of experience and knowledge is why previous clients highly recommend Embrace Dental.
While Dr. Tan also offers conventional metal or ceramic braces, his most cutting-edge invention is non-litigating braces. Unlike conventional braces, non-litigating braces replace the need for ligature bands or clips to secure the archwire.
Moreover, these options have a 20% reduced treatment time and less irritation. Plus, clients only need to visit the dentist once every 3 to 4 months!
The clinic is located conveniently along Orchard Road. It’s only a 1-minute walk from the Royal Thai Embassy bus stop.
However, we do want to point out that there were previous customers who had a bad experience with booking appointments. Additionally, the clinic’s rates are on the expensive side compared to its competitors.
We do want to note that while the prices are more expensive, you really get what you pay for with the most modern technology.

Pros
- Great with kids and teenagers
- Walking distance from Holland V station and Holland Village station
- Offers student discounts
- Extended working hours
- Open on Sundays
Cons
- Quite expensive
- Dentists have less experience compared to others listed here
The Braces Practice is a pretty unique entry because of its much younger team of orthodontists who have the proclivity to work with younger clients.
While they are great with clients of all ages, in our opinion, it’s good to know there’s a clinic that is specifically good at working with children and teenagers.
Another thing worth noting is that it also offers student discounts on braces and other services!
We are also pleased to know that the clinic is only a 2-minute walk from the Holland V bus station and a 3-minute walk if you stop at the Holland Village bus stop.
We hear that the dentists here work extended hours even on Sundays. We appreciate this because, unlike most clinics, they are able to cater to people who have a very hectic schedule.
We do want to say that when comparing rates, this clinic’s services are definitely more on the expensive side. If budget is at the top of your priority, you might want to see other clinics that offer the same service at a more affordable price.
Be that as it may, the feedback from clients who have gotten their braces here has been very positive and well received. Definitely, this is the clinic to go to for kids and adults alike!
6. Dr. Catherine Lee Orthodontics

Pros
- Highly experienced orthodontist
- Walking distance from the OUE Bayfront bus stop
- Naso-alveolar molding technology for cleft lip
- Orthodontist guides customers through the procedure
- Competitive rates
Cons
- Closed on Sunday
- Argues with staff in the open
Dr. Catherine Lee is a well-decorated and American-trained orthodontist. She has over 20 years of experience in the field and is also a board member of Clear Correct, an Orthodontic Clinical Advisory Board.
Dr. Lee has a great reputation. Former clients have pointed out that she cares enough to listen to all concerns and questions before moving forward with anything.
Walking patients through the procedure before starting is a highlight for us. Dentist visits can be quite stressful for all ages, so having someone guide you greatly decreases the mental stress patients experience during these sessions.
On top of the metal and ceramic braces service, this clinic also caters to cleft lip and palate cases. Using naso-alveolar molding technology, it’s able to perform necessary measures for infants around 5 months old.
However, while Dr. Lee is good to her clients, some prior patients say the case is not the same with her staff. For instance, one client shared that Dr. Lee could be heard shouting at her staff in the clinic.
In our opinion, customer experience isn’t just how you are treated but also covers the entire experience. That being said, it doesn’t bode well when you are hearing shouting bouts while having a session.
Be that as it may, most clients highly recommend Dr. Lee because of her skill, variety of dental options, and competitive rates.
