Pros
- Informative patient-centric services
- Specializes in minimally invasive procedures with little downtime
- Offers a comprehensive heart screening package
- Competitive prices
- Has three branches accessible via public transportation
Cons
- Limited parking for private vehicles
Whether you were born with a complication or developed it later, you must understand its nature to address it accordingly. That’s why The Cardiology Practice makes it a point to educate its patients in the simplest way possible.
We value an informative service. Hence why we adore The Cardiology Practice for its compassion in guiding its patients throughout their treatments.
Furthermore, the clinic’s resident cardiologist, Dr. Julian Tan Ko Beng, has experience in overseeing multinational clinical trials, so we trust him to be familiar with the ins and outs of various treatments and medications.
Dr. Julian Tan specializes in minimally invasive procedures with little to zero recovery time. He has treated over 1,000 blocked arteries in his career through complex procedures like coronary stenting, angioplasties, and balloon angioplasty.
We believe you’ll get your heart back to its healthiest with Dr. Julian Tan’s expertise!
Another great thing about this clinic is that it offers a comprehensive heart screening package inclusive of technology-assisted cardiac evaluations such as a coronary angiogram, a chest X-ray, and more.
Its services come at a competitive price and follow the Ministry of Health’s benchmark for transparent pricing, so even patients without medical insurance won’t need to worry about hidden charges.
We also like that it has three branches patients can visit for a consultation, albeit all of them are within private hospital grounds.
Limited parking spaces might be troublesome, so we encourage you to commute to any of its clinics via public transportation instead.

Pros
- One-stop cardiological care center with consultation and laboratory imaging
- Equipped with the latest high-end equipment for laboratory
- Offers extensive screening packages
- Reasonably priced
Cons
- Unclear whether the specialist has admitting rights to hospitals
- Customer service can be slow and unresponsive
Healthy Heart Specialist Centre is a multi-awarded center that provides consultation and laboratory imaging in one place — one of the few clinics in Singapore to do so.
Its resident cardiologist, Dr. Wong Siong Sung, is an expert in complex diagnostics techniques, so the clinic streamlines its services to give patients an easier time.
That is one aspect of it that we appreciate. Another thing is how Dr. Wong is a pioneer in a handful of cardiological practices.
Dr. Wong’s specialty is radio-tracing diagnoses, which have granted him global recognition. That is also why Healthy Heart Specialist Centre equips its clinic with the latest high-end-functioning diagnostic machines.
And because it can provide accurate diagnoses using these machines and the different techniques from Dr. Wong, Healthy Heart Specialist Centre provides screening packages of varying inclusions depending on the patient’s needs.
We appreciate this as it saves the patients time and money. You won’t have to travel between the clinic and a laboratory anymore — you can do everything you need in the same place, within the same day!
Healthy Heart Specialist Centre also offers non-surgical treatment programs for cardiac ailments, which is ideal for people without severe conditions. However, it’s unclear whether Dr. Wong has admitting rights to other health institutions.
Nevertheless, we think highly of this clinic’s treatment plans and screening services, especially since it offers preventive measures with long-term effects.
Furthermore, it acknowledges medical insurance, so you won’t have to stress about ceiling-high costs.
Another great thing about it is that it’s near an MRT station, so getting to the clinic via public transportation won’t be a hassle.
The only downside to this clinic is that it still has room for improvements in customer service.
According to the patients we talked to, the staff can be a bit slow and unresponsive. The clinic also tends to hard-sell screening packages you don’t need and could rack up your expenses.

Pros
- Cardiologist specializes in non-invasive and non-surgical treatments
- Extensive list of diagnostic services
- Personalised and sustainable treatment plan for patients
- Doctor has admitting rights to six private hospitals
- Accepts most health insurances and offers payment plans
- Has an emergency hotline
Cons
- Only has one clinic branch
- Located in a traffic-prone area
EH Heart Specialist’s resident cardiologist is an expert with multiple accolades attached to his name.
Under heart specialist Dr. Eric Hong Cho Tek’s direction, it is now an established heart clinic providing extensive diagnostic services for cardiac issues.
What makes EH Heart Specialist a great choice is Dr. Eric Hong’s clinical interests that cover almost everything you’ll need to address a cardiac condition.
Dr. Eric Hong specializes in interventional cardiology and non-invasive cardiological imaging. He’s one of the very few doctors doubly accredited for these practices, which earns him bonus points for credentials in our books!
In simpler terms, both practices are non-surgical procedures to diagnose and treat heart ailments. So if you have anxiety over surgical operations, you can rest assured that, depending on your condition, EH Heart Specialist can give you a less stressful option.
Besides patients with heart diseases, Dr. Eric Hong’s specialization allows him to attend to other conditions such as stroke, diabetes, renal impairment, and many more.
What we’d like to highlight about Dr. Eric Hong’s services are his thorough treatments personalized for each patient. Every treatment plan revolves around the long-term well-being of his patients, so you can rest assured that his procedures are sustainable.
Furthermore, we like that EH Heart Specialist offers payment plans, which can relieve patients who are short on budget.
It also accepts most health insurance, which is convenient considering how its rates are on the steeper side.
Another great thing about this clinic is that Dr. Eric Hong has admitting privileges to six private hospitals in Singapore.
You can find EH Heart Specialist on Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s grounds next to other specialist centers. The disadvantage to this arrangement is that you’ll have to share limited parking slots with other incoming patients.
It also means the area is prone to heavy traffic during peak hours.
Nevertheless, EH Heart Specialist is ready to take your calls even after clinic hours. It has a 24-hour emergency hotline that you can dial, and its staff and doctor will tend to you at the soonest!
5. Starmed Specialist Centre — Dr. Peter Ting

Pros
- Specialises in preventive and rehabilitation measures
- Offers lifestyle programs to improve cardiac health and slow the progression of other cardiac diseases
- Offers alternative treatments to coronary surgery
- Provides subsidies for CHAS, Merdeka Generation, and Pioneer Generation card holders
Cons
- Not a cardiology-centric clinic
- Long queues for appointments
- Incosistent customer service staff
Starmed Specialist Centre is a one-stop specialist clinic for several medical practices. Among them is cardiology, with resident heart specialist Dr. Peter Ting.
Dr. Peter Ting’s specialty is preventive cardiology and cardiological rehabilitation. This first one is recommended for young patients, while the latter is ideal for the elderly.
We especially like his treatment plans as they involve lifestyle therapy programs for the long-term improvement of the patient’s cardiac health and to slow the progression of any coronary-related diseases.
The clinic’s clientele includes patients with genetic heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, patients who are overweight, and patients who smoke.
Starmed Specialist Centre offers specialized cardiac screening for these patients, so if you fall under any of these categories, we recommend you visit the clinic.
Another great thing about this clinic is that its treatment plans are an effective alternative to coronary stenting or surgery, albeit not many patients know this.
That’s why we suggest having an appointment with Dr. Peter Ting to learn more, especially if surgical procedures make you anxious.
Moreover, it’s also a Community Health Assistance Scheme (CHAS) clinic, so CHAS card holders are guaranteed to find its services more affordable. It also provides subsidies to Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card holders.
But since the Starmed Specialist Clinic is a general medical center and isn’t a cardiology-centric clinic, it has a higher rate of incoming patients. In worst-case scenarios, you’ll have to wait in long queues for your appointment.
Its customer service could use some improvement as well. From what we’ve gathered from other clients, the constantly shifting staff tend to be erratic and can often miss your appointment or inquiry.

Pros
- Has two branches
- Uses cutting-edge technology for cardiological procedures
- Offers options for invasive and non-invasive treatments
- One-stop consultation-cum-laboratory assessment center
- Accepts medical insurance
- Offers customizable heart screening package
Cons
- Clinic hours subject to change
Nobel Heart Centre is part of Healthway Medical Group’s extensive medical services for children and adults. It employs two skilled cardiologists from renowned private hospitals.
The resident heart specialist for its Mount Elizabeth Novena branch is Dr. Leow Khang Leng. His expertise lies in non-invasive and invasive cardiological procedures.
Regarding the flexibility of treatments, we find that Dr. Leow Khang Leng can cover most grounds. You won’t run out of treatment options in his hands!
Meanwhile, the Gleneagles branch’s resident heart doctor is also adaptable with procedures, so whichever clinic you visit, you’re guaranteed the same quality care.
Nobel Heart Centre uses cutting-edge technology to provide optimized treatment plans for its patients. It also has a laboratory of its own, which makes it easier for patients to undergo laboratory tests within the day of their appointment.
Moreover, we like that it offers a heart screening package that includes fundamental physical examinations and cardiological assessments. You can customize this to add advanced laboratory tests for additional charges.
Another thing we appreciate about it is how it accepts medical insurance from most insurance companies.
However, the downside to this clinic is its operating hours break into two shifts, with an hour-long interval. That limits the patients’ time with the doctors and the number of patients that can come in a day.
Its clinic hours are also subject to change from time to time. Walk-in consultations could be inconvenient, so we advise you to book an appointment ahead of time to be safe.

- Able to make a diagnosis after a few tests
Cons
- Closed on Tuesday, Friday, Sunday & Public Holidays
Dr Woo Jia Wei is the cardiologist at Sunrise Heart Clinic. He trained cardiology at the National University Hospital and was then accredited as a cardiologist specialist.
In comparison to other doctors, he also received formal training in cardiac CT at John Hopkins Hospital in America as well as at Harefield Hospital in the United Kingdom.

The only down side here is that some of the rates of their services are not on their website.
