Siow Neurology Headache & Pain Center can be located inside Mount Alvernia Hospital and is just beside the Opp Macritchie Reservoir bus stop. It has long operating hours but is closed on weekends.

For anyone who prefers getting treated at the end of the week, we suggest checking our other entries on this list.

This clinic is led by Dr. Charles Siow, a neurosurgeon with 15 years of experience and is well-renowned for helping patients manage common neurological conditions like headaches and serious conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.

He also has experience working in other countries such as the USA and the United Kingdom. Currently, he is the President of the Singapore Headache Society and a member of Singaporean and international neurological associations.

Dr. Charles’ background provided him with the knowledge to be a proficient neurosurgeon, enabling him to give the best possible care.

The patients we spoke to really liked Dr. Charles’ easygoing approach and that he also provides valuable advice to make sure proper steps are followed after surgery. This ensures that clients are consistent with their recovery timeline.

For example, a client who was suffering from intense migraines for several years had found the help he needed here, and Dr. Charles was very insightful and friendly during sessions.

However, some patients were not too pleased with the clinic’s staff because they were rude with their tone. This is something not very ideal in a neurological clinic, especially for those already dealing with discomfort.

Generally, Siow Neurology is an ideal destination for general neurological concerns, especially for those who are suffering from migraines.

  • Just beside Opp Macritchie Reservoir bus stop
  • Extended operating hours
  • 15 years of clinical experience
  • Doctor has international experience
  • Friendly with clients

Neuro Asia Care can be found inside Mount Elizabeth Hospital, which is just a 5-minute walk from the Orchard Station bus stop. It is open all week except on Sundays, however, it closes very early on Saturdays.

We suggest that those who are usually busy on weekdays check our other entries with extended weekend business hours.

Dr. Nicolas Kon Kam King is an experienced neurosurgeon who specializes in neuro-oncology, minimally invasive brain surgery, functional neurosurgery, and deep brain stimulation.

He has experience working in countries like Canada and the United Kingdom, where he received his Ph.D. in neuroscience.

His commitment to neurosurgery has granted him a long-service award from the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore. He’s also a recipient of several Service with A Heart honors by the Singapore General Hospital.

We highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking help for Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors, brain hemorrhage, and spasticity, as these are his specialty.

The clients we interviewed spoke positively about Dr. Nicholas’s non-invasive treatments. They managed to help out the client’s father, who has Parkinson’s disease.

Moreover, he also mentioned the team’s organized work made the entire process more comfortable for his father who is now feeling much better without tremors affecting his everyday life.

The only drawback we found is this clinic has a relatively smaller team compared to other entries on this list. Urgent cases that need to be dealt with immediately might not be possible.

Pros

  • Doctor has international experience and multiple awards
  • Ideal for Parkinson’s disease patients
  • Offers non-invasive treatments

  • Comfortable treatments

Dr. Mathew Tung Yu Yee is a specialist in Singapore Sports and Orthopedic Clinic inside Gleneagles Medical Center, which is just a 2-minute walk from the S’pore Botanic Gardens bus stop.

The clinic is open from Monday to Saturday with regular operating hours on weekdays. Busy bees who favor weekend appointments may have trouble booking services here, so we recommend checking our other entries with longer business hours.

Dr. Mathew is a spinal specialist neurosurgeon with surgery experience dating back as far as 1984 and international background from countries like the United Kingdom and China.

He concentrates on treating brain and spine disorders such as back pain, neck pain, nerve pain, and headaches.

The individuals we spoke to said Dr. Matthew urges people to do non-invasive procedures before opting for surgery.

The reason is that he believes this path is a quicker way to return to optimal function and that surgery might complicate a problem that can be treated with less downtime and cost.

We highly recommend Dr. Matthew to those seeking conservative procedures in tackling their injuries or other complications.

In the last 15 years, he has performed non-invasive procedures such as stereotactic radiotherapy for brain tumors and major operations like spinal laminectomy for spinal tumors.

That being said, he is one of the leading experts in this field and previous clients have received positive results from his work.

Many patients we talked to love his professional yet friendly conduct during consultations. He deals with people with plenty of patience and provides all the necessary information regarding their neurological issues.

There was even a patient who had trouble with private care rates and Dr. Matthew assisted her in getting the necessary medicine from a government hospital to help cut down costs.

However, this clinic’s team is rather small. You may have issues with booking and the long queues might not be ideal for urgent care.

Pros

  • 2-minute walk from the S’pore Botanic Gardens bus stop
  • Neurosurgery experience since 1984
  • Has international experience
  • Offers non-invasive solutions
  • Will work with your budget as much as possible
  • Professional and friendly
  • Informative consultations

Cons

  • Relatively short operating hours on Saturdays
  • Small team

Singapore General Hospital is located at 31 Third Hospital Ave. It is just a 10-minute walk from the Outram Park Station bus stop.

It is open 24/7, making it an ideal destination for urgent neurosurgery needs.

Singapore General has the most diverse services on this list. In its neurology center, it has specialized treatments to particularly deal with any concern a patient may have.

Having said that, it also has a very large team of neurosurgeon experts. Each one specializes in a specific field.

Its clinical services tackle neurological problems like epilepsy, stroke, neuromuscular, sleep disorders, degenerative diseases, and Parkinson’s disease.

In each program, clients are evaluated and diagnosed by specialists in this respective field, ensuring each patient gets the utmost care and best treatment available.

For example, in their sleep disorder department, individuals are monitored overnight to gather all the necessary information about their insomnia or daytime sleepiness, as well as any abnormal behavior while sleeping.

Diverse services all in one location with assessments for any neurological-related disorders. This detailed procedure is the same in any division, so clients can rest easy knowing they are getting the best help possible.

However, clients have mentioned to us that the idle time here is quite frustrating. Some claimed to have waited for 3 hours to be attended to.

We understand it’s a busy place, but there needs to be some kind of customer attention, mainly if they’ll be waiting for a while. This will alleviate the irritation of needlessly staying longer than expected.

We also received complaints regarding some of its doctors being quite negative in their manner of talking to clients and were not very compassionate or friendly.

We believe this is the case since doctors here treat plenty of patients all day. That being said, customer care is still an important factor and this place could use some improvement in this regard.

Pros

  • 10-minute walk from the Outram Park Station bus stop
  • Open 24/7
  • Comprehensive departments for neurology
  • Complete assessment and diagnosis for any neurological disorder
  • In-depth analysis and testing
  • Large team of experts

Cons

  • Long wait time
  • Doctors can be very cold during consultations

The National Neuroscience Institute is located inside Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It is an 8-minute stroll from the Revival Center bus stop.

It’s open with significantly long operating hours. However, it is closed on weekends.

This may not be the ideal destination for those who are busy during the week or anyone preferring weekend appointments.

On a more positive note, this clinic has plenty of additional branches. It’s available in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Changi General Hospital, and Sengkang General Hospital.

This enables patients to find the nearest clinic and get help immediately without needlessly traveling.

Furthermore, it also has an extensive neurosurgery division that handles a wide range of neurological issues such as brain tumors, head trauma, and spine disorders, to name a few.

Patients have also commented on this clinic’s efficient system wherein all they need to do is to scan their National Registration Identity Card at the entrance and follow the directions to their designated medical department.

We gathered some negative feedback about some doctors being late to appointments. For instance, a patient waited for an hour without any information regarding the delay.

We understand that the specialists here work shifts since they also go to other clinics, but if they’ll be arriving late, the least they can do is inform their patients to avoid dissatisfaction.

Pros

  • 8-minute walk from the Revival Center bus stop
  • Long operating hours
  • 4 other branches around the island
  • Large team of experts
  • Covers plenty of neurological treatments
  • Organized and efficient queue system

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Doctors can be late without notice
