The 5 Best Sleep Clinics in Singapore

How we picked

Experience & Specialisation:

We searched for specialists that are widely acknowledged in their practice. We also selected them based on their clinical interests.

Treatments:

The standard for treating sleeping disorders often involves CPAP machines, but one size doesn’t fit all. So we searched for clinics that could give patients an alternative treatment.

Cost:

Treating sleeping disorders involves sustainability, and sustainable treatments aren’t always cheap. We culled sleeping clinics that make their rates more affordable by accepting insurance or MediSave as payment.

Patient Feedback:

When it comes to medical services, we always value the patient’s experience before, during, and after treatment. We considered clinics that were most recommended by patients.

Pros

  • Nationally acclaimed ENT specialist
  • Specialises on sleep disorders for adults and children
  • Uses advanced technology and innovative techniques for patients’ convenience
  • Claimable by MediSave

Cons

  • Not very informative clinical staff

The founder of Asia Sleep Centre, Dr. Kenny Peter Pang, is another highly trusted ENT specialist in Singapore.

His contributions to sleep societies locally and internationally are unprecedented. He’s even become widely reputed as the “snoring specialist.”

Naturally, we find Dr. Kenny Peter Pang’s credentials impeccable. Besides ears, nose, and throat conditions, he also specialises in the head and neck areas.

But what we find more impressive is his focus on sleeping disorders. That allows him to address more intricate sleeping problems such as insomnia, parasomnia, sleep paralysis, and sleepwalking.

What we like further is how he can provide treatment for adults and children regardless of their diagnosis.

Asia Sleep Centre uses the latest technology in administering sleep tests, so patients won’t need to stay overnight for it. This technology, also known as a Watch PAT device, has 93% accuracy and can be taken back to your home!

Dr. Kenny Peter Pang uses clinically tested techniques to treat sleeping disorders and apnea, the most prominent being via CPAP machine to help patients breathe easily in their sleep.

He can also perform thyroid surgery when needed. Overall, we find his clinic able to provide one of the most holistic services islandwide.

We also appreciate that those services are claimable by MediSave, so it takes the burden off of high costs.

However, the clinical staff can use a bit of improvement. From what we’ve heard from clients, they aren’t very informative, so patients are sometimes left confused about pricing and procedures.

Pros

  • Multi-awarded ENT specialist
  • Thorough treatment program via CPAP machine
  • Specialises in different kinds of treatments and conditions
  • Ideal for adults and children
  • Dedicated team for patients
  • Claimable by MediSave

Cons

  • Pricey rates without MediSave or insurance

The ENT, Voice & Snoring Clinic is one of the many specialist centres located in Mount Elizabeth Hospital. It stood out to us because of its comprehensive range of ENT services for adults and children.

Helmed by ENT specialist Dr. Han Hong Juan, this clinic is a benchmark for treatment flexibility. It provides conventional CPAP machine treatment, Oral Appliance, and surgery.

During Dr. Han Hong Juan’s 20 years of service in the public sector, he received multiple awards for his practice. Currently, he extends his clinical interests to robotic and laser surgery.

Furthermore, he’s one of the pioneers of Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) in Singapore, a method that enables safe robotic surgery in the back of a patient’s throat.

What we like about this clinic’s service are its thorough trial services for CPAP machines to ensure that the treatment gets optimised for the patient’s comfort. Its machines have built-in Wi-fi so its team can monitor your results remotely.

Its trials run for two weeks for a more accurate result. Afterward, the clinic can provide you with a CPAP machine with a 2-year-warranty.

Furthermore, we also appreciate its team of nurses. They’re qualified to provide patient care before, during, and after treatment.

And from what we’ve heard from other patients, they’re compassionate and attentive. You’ll feel at ease with their care.

The ENT, Voice & Snoring Clinic accepts MediSave as a payment option. All the better, too — the clinic’s rates are a bit pricey, so having claimable funds from your CPF account would lessen the amount you’ll have to pay over the counter.

Pros

  • Offers alternative treatments for CPAP
  • Offers flexible treatment procedures
  • Specialist has relevant global experience
  • Equipped with first-rate management tools for treatments

Cons

  • Steep rates

Asia Pacific Dental Sleep Medicine is a clinic that’s a subsidiary of Asia Pacific Dental Centre.

It specialises in treating obstructing sleeping habits using oral apparatuses. It provides a good alternative for people who might be uncomfortable with CPAP machines.

This particular inclination for dental-centric treatment stems from its lead dental sleep specialist’s experience in general dentistry. Dr. Kevin Chye has been practising dentistry and dental sleep medicine at Victoria Dentalcare Clinics since 2018.

What we appreciate about his practice is how it allows him access to management tools that continue to better the clinic’s services. These tools also help in providing quality treatment for obstructive sleep patterns.

Dr. Kevin Chye’s primary treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea is oral appliance therapy. The method involves using retainer or mouthguard-like devices to maintain an open airway by safely repositioning your jaw.

We approve of this method as it’s quieter and more portable than a CPAP machine. You can bring it anywhere, and it doesn’t make a regular buzzing noise!

It can also protect your teeth from grinding in your sleep.

Meanwhile, if you’re unfit for this alternative, Asia Pacific Dental Sleep Medicine can provide surgical options for your condition. In other words, it’s flexible with its treatments — that’s another thing we like about it!

You can catch Dr. Kevin Chye at Royal Square Medical Centre on any day of the week besides Sunday.

The disadvantage of this sleep clinic is that it can be a bit pricey. Still, it accepts most insurances, so be sure to consult your insurance provider if services under this clinic are covered.

Pros

  • Specialises in sleep study and respiratory diseases in children
  • Able to handle child patients with compassion
  • Partners with other specialists to provide appropriate treatment

Cons

  • Unclear if covered by Baby Bonus or not
  • Long queue and waiting time for first visits
  • Closed on Thursdays

SOG — Petrina Wong Clinic for Children and Respiratory Sleep is part of SOG Health, a leading family healthcare service provider. More precisely, Dr. Petrina Wong’s clinic is the branch of SOG Health dedicated to children’s sleep wellness.

Her practice focuses on childhood respiratory and sleeping conditions. We believe she’s ideal for children with sleeping issues caused by asthma, coughs, allergies, or any lung-related disease.

If you’re worried about your child snoring or wheezing in their sleep, we highly recommend Dr. Wong’s sleep clinic as your first stop.

With over 15 years of experience in pediatric services, you can trust her to know how to deal with all the quirks in a child’s behaviour.

We love that she’s unfazed by it, seeing as she’s a mother herself, and she’s guaranteed to receive you and your child with compassion.

Furthermore, she has experience as a Consultant in Respiratory Services in public healthcare institutions. She knows the ABCs of sleep patterns in children, especially those with lung problems.

What we like even more about the SOG — Petrina Wong for Children and Respiratory Sleep is how it works with several specialists to ensure that your child will receive the best care.

It partners with neonatologists, ear, nose, and throat surgeons, sleep technologists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists.

SOG Health’s clinics for pediatric care accept Baby Bonus as a payment plan, though it’s unclear if Dr. Wong’s practice does the same.

Another disadvantage we found about this clinic — from the previous clients we surveyed — is that first visits involve long queues and even longer waiting times.

Moreover, it’s closed on Thursdays.

Pros

  • Globally trained ENT specialising in apnea
  • Has two clinic branches
  • Provides conventional treatments

Cons

  • Pricey rates

For a consultation regarding unhealthy snoring, you don’t have to look farther than a Ears, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. Dr. Annabelle Leong is one of Singapore’s most trusted ENT experts for adults and children.

Backed by her European education and training, she is the only Singaporean recipient of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) National Temporal Bone Prize.

It’s an award for displaying unparalleled ear surgical skills — that earns her a large bonus for credentials in our books!

She also has a history of charity work, performing ENT surgery and treatments in different Southeast Asian countries. You can say that when it comes to being familiar with international patients, we find Dr. Annabelle Leong the most reliable.

Furthermore, she specialises in most ENT conditions that can contribute to unhealthy sleeping habits, such as sinus allergies, dizziness and imbalance, lymph nodes, and others.

We also like that she emphasises the treatment of sleep apnea. This condition usually goes undiagnosed, as people brush this off as merely an annoying snoring habit.

But Dr. Annabelle Leong underscores the risks of this condition. She provides conventional treatments to it through either a CPAP machine or surgery.

To diagnose the severity of a patient’s condition, she conducts sleep studies on her patients. If you suspect you need one, you’re free to visit one of her clinics.

Her clinics are within centralised grounds for other specialist centres — Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital. There’s limited parking at these locations, so we suggest you commute there instead.

This sleep clinic’s rate can be a bit pricey too, and it isn’t part of MediSave’s scheme.
