Pros

  • 5-minute walk from the Opp Ngee Ann City bus stop
  • Relatively long operating hours on weekdays
  • Doctor has international experience
  • Minimal burns or scarring for tattoo removal procedure
  • Minimal downtime and easy maintenance
  • Perfect for small tattoos

Cons

  • May require multiple sessions for bigger or detailed tattoos
  • Limited tattoo removal procedures

Dr. Tyng Tan Aesthetics and Hair Clinic is located in Ngee Ann City Tower, which is a 5-minute walk from the Opp Ngee Ann City bus stop. It is open from Monday to Saturday with fairly long operating hours on weekdays.

Dr. Tyng Tan has international experience from the United Kingdom and is a graduate of the prestigious University College London.

She is also certified by Aesthetics Practice Oversight Committee to practice aesthetic laser, dermal fillers, and chemical peeling.

The clinic’s tattoo removal is a special variation of the Q-switched laser called YAG laser, a non-invasive procedure that produces short pulses of light into the deepest layers of the skin.

This breaks down tattoo pigmentation without damaging the skin around the area. It can do this by emitting longer wavelengths, which facilitates better skin penetration while minimizing burns and scarring.

The people we spoke to commented how well this procedure worked for their tattoos. Moreover, they liked the minimal downtime and the simple after-care treatment, which only requires applying a cooling cream in the following days.

The only downside we gathered is that the procedure requires about 5 to 10 treatments for bigger or more detailed tattoos. However, it is highly effective for smaller ones.

Pros

  • Accessible through the Raffles Place MRT station
  • 40 years of experience in the industry
  • Extended operating hours throughout the week
  • Offers two kinds of tattoo removal treatments
  • Versatile PICO care 450 laser procedure
  • Tattoo removal requires fewer sessions

Cons

  • Long waiting time
  • Staff is not upfront about the waiting time

The Clifford Clinic is conveniently located in Clifford Center, which is accessible through the Raffles Place MRT station. Furthermore, it is open from Monday to Saturday with extended operating hours.

What we found impressive is that this clinic has over 40 years of experience in aesthetics, plastic, and reconstructive surgery.

This medical establishment offers two tattoo removal services. One is the Q-switch laser and the second is the PICO care 450 laser.

The clients we spoke to prefer the PICO care 450 laser because it requires fewer sessions to remove even the darkest and most detailed tattoos.

The procedure begins by firing laser beams onto the targeted area and causing microbubbles to form by way of tiny explosions in the skin to eliminate any pigmentation.

During the recovery period, the microbubbles will be filled up with healthy collagen produced by the body, which will then be replaced by healthy new skin.

Moreover, the PICO care 450 laser is also used to clear acne or freckles. It is quite versatile and effective.

However, we came across several individuals who complained about waiting a long time in the lobby.

Some even claimed to have waited for an hour, and when they asked for a follow-up, the staff just kept on insisting that it’ll only take another 5 minutes.

While we recognize that doctors at this clinic are very focused on giving individuals the best care possible by taking their time in each procedure, we also understand that they must be transparent if the wait time is going to be longer.

Saying to wait 5 more minutes while knowing it might be longer than that could complicate the schedule of the people waiting for their turn.

Pros

  • Just beside the Opp Great World City bus stop
  • 10 years of experience in the field
  • Doctor has international experience
  • Certified user of Thermage and VASER lipo selection procedures
  • Extended operating hours throughout the week
  • Safer tattoo removal procedure
  • Offers pre-treatment consultations

Cons

  • More sessions needed
  • Not the ideal choice for lighter colored tattoos

The Aesthetics Center is located in the Great World shopping mall, beside the Opp Great World City bus stop. It is open from Monday to Saturday with haphazard, albeit, extended operating hours on weekdays.

This clinic’s head doctor, Dr. Anita Soosay has more than 10 years of experience in the field of aesthetics and 15 years of practice in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

She is also one of Singapore’s few certified users of Thermage and VASER lipo selection procedures, to name a few.

Moreover, she has been a certified laser physician since 2007 with experience in operating procedures such as Q-switched and Co2 lasers. That being said, Dr. Anita is a proficient tattoo removal practitioner.

The Aesthetics Center offers PicoWay laser for tattoo removal services. The procedure uses three wavelengths, and each one dictates the depth of penetration of the laser.

Furthermore, this clinic has a consultation and testing period to assess which wavelength to use, how many sessions are required, and if the laser is compatible with the client’s skin.

This gives doctors and patients a better perspective on how to move forward safely with tattoo removals and how much they would probably pay after all sessions are over.

The PicoWay laser is an effective choice for darker tattoos, however, it is less effective against lighter tones like white or yellow.

This is something to keep in mind when you are considering taking this tattoo removal treatment.

While this procedure is a much safer option than other lasers such as Q-switch, it could be a more tedious process overall because you might need multiple sessions to fully eliminate lighter tones of your tattoo.

Be that as it may, the clients we spoke to absolutely adore Dr. Anita because, in consultations, her experience truly shines.

She makes individuals feel at ease by explaining the entire process and checks all the risks so that they can be avoided during procedures as much as possible. This makes her an ideal option for first-time clients.

Pros

  • 2-minute walk from the Royal Thai Embassy bus stop
  • 10 years of experience in the field
  • Doctor has surgical experience
  • No hard selling
  • Affordable tattoo removal service
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Extended operating hours
  • Offers pre-treatment consultations

Cons

  • Requires plenty of sessions
  • Might not be able to completely remove tattoos

The S Aesthetics Clinic is located in Shaw Center, which is only a 2-minute walk from the Royal Thai Embassy bus stop. Is open from Monday to Saturday with exceptionally long operating hours — the longest on this list.

This clinic is better known for its face filler treatments, however, it does have one of the most affordable tattoo removal services.

This medical establishment’s lead aesthetic doctor, Dr. Ashley Yuen has 10 years of experience in the field. In the past, he was a surgical doctor and had worked in several hospitals in Singapore.

We believe this is noteworthy because the clients we spoke to mentioned that Dr. Ashley goes above and beyond in ensuring the safety and compatibility of their aesthetic procedures during consultations.

Moreover, they commented that Dr. Ashley did not hard sell any unnecessary services. He is informative and helps individuals feel at ease by constantly communicating with them whenever necessary.

This clinic uses Pico Laser and the process is very similar to most laser removal treatments for tattoo removals. The only downside of this is that it usually takes plenty of sessions for any kind of tattoo.

Other specialized lasers work better for either darker or lighter tattoos, with fewer sessions. The Pico Laser is a basic procedure that doesn’t specialize in either kind of tattoo shading or color.

That being said, it is safe with high efficacy but it might take anywhere between 5 to 12 sessions, 4 to 8 weeks apart to achieve 80-90% clearance of the tattoo.

Pros

  • Just next to the Suntec City bus stop
  • 15 years of experience in the field
  • Well-known anti-aging doctor
  • Needs fewer sessions for removing tattoos
  • Can completely remove tattoos
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Extended operating hours throughout the week
  • Offers pre-treatment consultations

Cons

  • Relatively more painful side-effect after treatment
  • Relatively longer recovery period

Radium Medical Aesthetic is located in Suntec City and is just next to the Suntec City bus stop. It is open from Monday to Saturday with consistently extended operating hours.

We recommend this place for busy clients seeking weekend tattoo removal appointments.

This clinic’s medical director, Dr. Siew Tuck Wah, has 15 years of experience practicing non-invasive treatments, anti-aging medicine, and topical skincare. He is also a well-known speaker at medical conferences regarding anti-aging.

It comes as no surprise to us that clients feel safe and informed during consultations with Dr. Siew. They noted that he is highly attentive from beginning to end and provided plenty of information regarding their tattoo removal procedure.

Radium Medical Aesthetic uses a variant of the Pico Laser for tattoo removals, which is the PicoSure laser. It is more effective in removing lighter colors such as white, yellow, and blue.

While PicoSure is more effective, it has a bit more side effects post-treatment. Clients can expect the targeted area to be significantly more inflamed and painful for about 5 days.

It is also recommended for individuals to stay out of the sun after the procedure to help the skin recover faster. This treatment is also relatively more expensive than Pico Laser.

Overall, it may be a better option for people who do not wish to do multiple sessions and those who have a relatively shorter timetable for removing tattoos.
