The clinic’s medical director is Dr. Dennis Koh, who has more than 15 years of experience in the field and has also worked in the United Kingdom.

His specialization is in colonoscopy and gastroscopy. He has performed numerous colon and rectal surgeries, both open and minimally invasive.

He is joined by Dr. Sharon Koh Zhiling and Dr. Pauleon Tan Enjiu.

Dr. Sharon is an expert in colorectal procedures and minimally invasive surgery, as well as advanced endoscopy.

It also has a second branch in Gleneagles Medical Center for those living near the Tanglin Planning Area. It’s open on Saturdays too but closes very early.

Dr. Thomas Ho has over 20 years of surgical experience and is well-known for his expertise in cancer surgery, especially in the field of head, neck, abdominal, and digestive cancers.

He is experienced in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries. He uses these techniques for thyroid operations, and other general procedures for hernia, gallbladder, adrenal, and spleen conditions.

Off the bat, this clinic gets a high score for its services because it offers the most diverse list of surgical procedures.

The clients we spoke to liked Dr. Thomas’ calm and professional attitude during consultations. He has a knack for communicating medical procedures by simplifying concepts to make them more understandable.

Patients also appreciate the friendly staff that was prompt in booking appointments and answering inquiries.

However, the clinic is a bit undermanned and individuals usually need to book in advance due to the long queue. 

The wait is a hit-or-miss, but if it’s too long for you, we recommend seeing our other entries on this list. Nevertheless, Thomas Ho Surgery is an ideal destination for anyone seeking surgical procedures.

One Surgical Clinic & Surgery can be located inside Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Center but it also has branches in Parkway East, Orchard, and Mount Alvernia.

However, the location we went to is quite far. It is a 12-minute walk from the nearest bus stop at Opp Mandarin Orchard.

This clinic is led by Dr. Ng Chee Yung, who has 20 years of clinical practice and 10 years of experience as a specialist colorectal surgeon. He is also the current president of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons in Singapore.

His specialty lies in advanced techniques such as robotic surgery, lymph node clearance, transanal endoscopic operations, and colonic stenting.

We recommend this medical establishment for those who prefer special operations that use robotics. This procedure is ideal for anyone who has cancer in the rectum, prostate, or colon.

The benefit of this advanced procedure is that it produces a 3D perspective a doctor can use to better identify the targeted areas, which allows for a more precise dissection during surgery.

However, the rates of these services are quite expensive. If budget is a priority, we suggest looking into other entries on this list. 

On the bright side, the patients we talked to commented on Dr. Ng’s professional yet kind approach. He is also very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain the necessary details of each procedure to his clients. 

This small detail helps individuals feel more comfortable with the treatment they’ll be needing to go through.

Another thing they mentioned is Dr. Ng’s ability to recognize situations and assess their severity immediately. 

For instance, a patient who required a colon operation because of a blockage was swiftly attended to. After the issue was detected, the doctor took the closest time available for the client to get the operation as soon as possible.
