How We Picked
We reviewed the credentials and years of experience of each entry to review their knowledge and expertise as gastroenterologists.
We interviewed former patients and listened to their comments. Their experiences with these clinics will help others decide whether or not they suit their needs and preferences.
We looked into each entry’s list of services and manpower to evaluate if they can deliver the necessary treatmemts for each patient’s needs.
We inspected the location and operating hours of each clinic. We also looked if they have other branches open around Singapore.
1. Nobel Gastroenterology Center
Services: Digestive disease, bowel disorders, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and more
Address: Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Center, 38 Irrawaddy Rd, #05-39, Singapore
Contact Details: +65 6694 0764

Nobel Gastroenterology Center is situated inside Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and is a 6-minute walk from the Bef Novena Stn Exit B bus stop. It is open from Monday to Saturday with relatively longer operating hours on weekdays.
The medical establishment mentions that it may change its clinic hours without prior notice, which is a bit of a hassle. We suggest getting in touch first before visiting to make sure you’re not wasting your time.
Nobel Gastroenterology Center has another location in Gleneagles, which is good news for anyone residing outside the Novena area.
If you’re looking for a one-stop shop that can take care of your stomach and stool concerns, look no further! This medical establishment offers a variety of services that can identify all types of digestive and gastrointestinal diseases.
Nobel Gastroenterology is led by Dr. Eric Wee, a senior gastroenterologist with over a decade’s worth of experience. He is also a member of the American Gastroenterological Association.
Dr. Eric specializes in treating conditions such as gastric pain, indigestion, hepatitis, fatty liver, IBS, and colon cancer.
Another thing we found impressive is that he is fluent in English and Mandarin, which greatly improves his ability to communicate with a wider set of individuals.
In fact, the people we talked to mentioned that he is very knowledgeable and patient in answering questions regarding their distress. “Comfortable” is the word that usually comes up when patients are asked about their experiences with him!
The only downside we gathered is that the team is rather small in this department, which led to plenty of delays for patients waiting in the reception area.
However, many were pleased to know that this clinic accepts all kinds of insurance for payments. This helps those who are working with a budget.
2. Livingstone Digestive and Liver Clinic
Services: Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopy, ulcers, jaundice, and more
Address: 3 Mount Elizabeth, #13-14 Medical Center, Singapore

Livingstone Digestive and Liver Clinic is available in two locations — one in Farrer Park Medical Center and another in Mount Elizabeth Medical Center. We went to the latter since it’s more accessible to us.
We like that it has a branch in Farrer Park because it is an easier destination for those who live around the Little India district.
The Livingstone, Mount Elizabeth branch has regular operating hours but is open a bit longer on weekdays. It is a 7-minute walk from the Opp Mandarin Orchard bus stop.
Its senior gastroenterologist is Dr. John Hsiang, who has more than 15 years of clinical experience. He also has experience working in other countries such as China, New Zealand, and Australia.
He is fluent in Mandarin and Hokkien, which helps him communicate complex medical conditions to individuals.
We highly recommend this place to those who are suffering from fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, or IBS since these are Dr. John’s areas of expertise. He also has extensive experience in gastrointestinal cancer screening.
The patients we interviewed spoke highly of the entire team’s accommodating attitude, which is a huge bonus because gastrointestinal conditions are very hard to discuss.
Dr. John is noted to be skilled in helping clients understand their conditions and is always objective about the required treatments, which is quite helpful in grasping medical procedures.
The patients were also happy that this clinic accepts various insurance payments, which help a lot with costs.
However, Livingstone has significantly limited manpower compared to other clinics on this list. Be that as it may, the entire team is well received by past clients but it may face issues when slots have been filled up.
3. Andrea’s Digestive Clinic
Services: Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopy, U.B.T., nutrition assessment, and more
Address: #21-11/12 Royal Square at Novena, 101 Irrawaddy Rd, Singapore
Contact Details: +65 6264 2836

Saturday: 9 am – 1 pm

Andrea’s Digestive Clinic is found inside Royal Square Novena, which is just next to the Novena Station bus stop.
It is open from Monday to Saturday with regular operating hours. Unfortunately, it is only available in one location, which may be hard to go to for those who live outside Novena.
This clinic is led by two highly experienced specialists, Dr. Andrea Rajnakova and Veronica Cavallini.
Dr. Andrea has 20 years of experience in gastroenterology and internal medicine. She is a recipient of the Health Manpower Development Plan award by the Ministry of Health.
She specializes in therapeutic endoscopy, celiac disease, food allergies, diet, and nutrition. Dr. Andrea is also fluent in many languages such as English, Czech, Slovak, and Russian.
This puts her in a very unique position to accommodate both Singaporeans and foreigners!
We recommend this clinic to those who are interested in managing their gastrointestinal ailments with other methods such as managing nutrition and following a medical diet.
This brings us to Veronica Cavallini, a nutritionist with 7 years of experience. She specializes in food allergies, nutrition for the elderly, and the nutritional treatment of gastrointestinal conditions, metabolic diseases, and eating disorders.
The clients we spoke to like this clinic’s warm environment during consultations, and its focus on nutrition.
While most medical establishments solely focus on getting medication for cases, which this place does too, it also tries to handle them in the most holistic way possible by way of proper diet and nutrition.
Perhaps the only gripe we gathered from former clients is that this clinic does not offer any online consultations, which other clinics provide nowadays. It’s a small feature that really helps out in customer service.
While Andrea’s Digestive Clinic has all the standard services one requires in a gastroenterologist, it does not offer surgical services for those who might need them.
4. GI Endoscopy and Liver Center
Services: Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopy, anemia, I.B.D., and more

GI Endoscopy and Liver Center is located inside Royal Square Novena, which is just beside the Novena Station bus stop.
It has standard operating hours. However, on Saturdays, it closes very early.
This may not be the ideal destination for anyone who prefers getting appointments done on weekends. If that is your preference, we suggest checking our other entries on this list.
This medical establishment does not have other branches open, which may be an issue for interested parties that live further away from the Central region.
This clinic is headed by Dr. Quan Wai Leong. He is a gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist with over 20 years of clinical experience.
He is an expert in using the SpyGlass cholangioscopy system to treat large bile duct stones and manage difficult constrictions.
With this technique, hardened deposits that are challenging to remove without surgery can be effectively tackled through the use of endoscopy and Holmium Laser fragmentation.
We highly recommend seeing Dr. Quan if you need to remove gallstones to find relief immediately.
The clinic offers a wide variety of endoscopy services as it has both therapeutic and diagnostic programs. It also has gastroenterology procedures for those who are suffering from stomach ailments.
With that said, it has the most diverse list of treatments on this list. Moreover, it has an in-house pharmacist which enables clients to get the best rates for prescription medicine.
The individuals we interviewed spoke highly about Dr. Quan’s good bedside manners, who always asks if they are comfortable and if anything feels out of the ordinary during procedures.
The drawback we found is that its list of accepted insurance partners is a bit fewer than other entries on this list. We recommend double-checking with the clinic before jumping in with your preferred insurance.
Nevertheless, GI Endoscopy is the ideal destination for those needing the best surgery options — Dr. Quan is the best man for the job because of his experience and care during these procedures.

GutCARE is located on Irrawaddy Road, which is just a 2-minute stroll from the Bef Novena Station Exit B bus stop.
We are really impressed by the availability of this clinic because it is also available in 5 other locations around the island. The other branches are in Mount Elizabeth, Mount Alvernia, Gleneagles, Farrer Park, and Parkway East.
This makes it the ideal destination for anyone seeking urgent gastroenterologist appointments. Moreover, it has a wide range of services offered.
GutCARE is relatively new — it was only established in 2014. However, it has quickly grown in popularity due to its wide selection of doctors and availability around Singapore.
We’ll narrow down each doctor and their area of expertise to provide you with a better idea of whom you might need.
Dr. Chia Chung King, Dr. Chong Chern Hao, and Dr. Loh Poh Yen specialize in liver disorders, digestive cancer screening, and general gastroenterology.
Dr. Jarrod Lee is an expert in advanced endoscopy and pancreaticobiliary disorders. He is also the founder and CEO of this clinic!
Dr. Loh Poh Yen and Dr. Mark Fernandes are specialists in viral hepatitis and stomach cancers.
Dr. Reuben Wong focuses on gut motility, functional GI disorders, and the gut microbiome.
Dr. Shim Hang Hock specializes in inflammatory bowel disease.
The patients we talked to really loved the doctors here. They all shared positive experiences and mentioned that they provided detailed explanations about their ailments and were very patient in hearing follow-up questions.
The staff was also praised for being attentive, especially to those who are recovering from operations. They are friendly and really gave a lot of care while patients were resting in the clinic.
Overall, GutCARE is the best destination for anyone needing gastrointestinal care. It offers all kinds of medical services from invasive to non-invasive and provides screenings and assessments to choose the best procedure.
Perhaps the only downside is that it is quite expensive. However, with this clinic, you really get what you pay for.
Nevertheless, if budget is a priority, we suggest checking our other entries on this list.
