Top 10 Food Spots at AMK Hub in Singapore That Had Me Eating My Way Through the Mall
I love going to AMK Hub—always have, probably always will. I grew up just a few bus stops away, so this place has felt a bit like home.
I’m still here all the time, walking around, checking out new stalls, and yes, eating more than I should.
As a big foodie, I’ve slowly dined through almost every spot in the building. Some are great for a quick bite, some are good for long catch-ups, and a few have become regular stops whenever I’m in the area.
You might even catch me there mid-meal (don’t be shy if you do)!
Anyway, if you’re heading to AMK Hub soon and wondering where to eat, here are my top picks you should definitely check out!
1. Prata Raya

Address: 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-38/39 AMK Hub
Phone: +65 6853 9673
Hours: Daily – 7 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: Nasi Goreng Pattaya
With its big red roof and signage, Prata Raya serves up the locals’ delight. They’re particularly known for the variety of Roti Prata, Briyani, and Indian snacks.
But for now, I’ll be talking about Roti Prata. They do their best to make these grease-free, especially since they have to make the outside flaky while the inside stays chewy, which I’d say they do a great job at.
You can even find savoury ones like the Garlic Prata, or if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, the indulgent Banana Prata is the way to go.
I also went with the Nasi Goreng Pattaya (fried rice wrapped in a thin omelette), which was a good comfort food, very simple. But as for the other patrons in the area, all other plates seemed to have these sunny-side eggs that almost looked picture-perfect.
To wash it all down, I made sure not to skip the Teh Tarik. It’s rich and creamy, with just the right froth.
Pro Tip: Order the Mutton Soup for tender meat in a rich broth. |
2. Fuji Izakaya & Oyster Bar

Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 3 PM to 12 AM
- Friday to Sunday – 12:30 PM to 12 AM
Must-order: Chicken Teri Don
Hidden inside a busy food court, Fuji Izakaya is rarely quiet. People flock here for affordable Japanese comfort food, generous portions, and rotating promos that make it easy to try something new each visit.
What’s worth ordering is definitely their Oyster Fried Rice for its huge portion, lots of egg, and briny bits of oysters scattered throughout.
Their rice also goes great with glazed chicken on top! This is the Chicken Teri Don—it comes with a colourful mix of veggies that makes it feel more filling than most rice bowls (without the oysters, though).
If you’re not feeling the usual poultry dish, you can opt for the Ebi Furai Ramen. I often get this since the noodles are dunked in a tasty light broth and are surrounded by deep-fried prawns and some of the crispy batter.
Pro Tip: If you’re going for oysters, get the Oyster Sampler so you can try 5 different types of grilled oysters! |
3. Egg Thai

Hours: Daily – 10:30 AM to 9 PM
Must-order: Thai Basil Chicken Wings
The reason Egg Thai has so many customers is that it’s run by actual Thai chefs. This means you can taste the authentic recipes straight from the streets of Bangkok!
One item they suggested to me was their unique Pad Thai, which comes in a “golden” version, wrapped in a delicate web of eye-catching egg floss. I absolutely loved its sweetness!
But what almost pushed me into a food coma was the Thai Basil Chicken Wings. This dish has wings infused with herbal basil, then served with chilli, garlic, and lemon on the side.
I got all these for a surprisingly low price, too!
Pro Tip: If you want to level up from the usual Tom Yum Soup, try their Golden Tom Yum Soup with egg floss! |
4. Ichiban Sushi

Hours: Monday to Friday — 11:30 AM to 10 PM
Saturday and Sunday – 11 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: Spicy Unagi Roll
Another Japanese spot I love going to is Ichiban Sushi. They’ve got a wide range of sushi, sashimi, and bento sets that won’t break the bank.
Plus, they’re always running some kind of promo or giveaway, like Value Meal sets with bonus sides or desserts—what a steal!
Personally, I tried the Salmon Sakura, which is like a reverse maki—salmon sashimi wrapped around rice, topped with creamy Japanese mayo and a sprinkle of tobiko (those orange fish eggs that pop in your mouth).
I also suggest the Spicy Unagi Roll! It’s grilled eel layered with a sweet brown glaze (probably kabayaki sauce?) that makes the unagi so addictive. It’s on the pricier side, though, as expected for a dish with eel on it.
Pro Tip: Not into raw sushi? Order the California Maki instead. |
5. Talad Thai Banana

Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 9 PM
Must-order: Thai Fried Banana
The smell of sweet fried batter hit me before I could even spot this place. In the corner of AMK’s food court, Talad Thai Banana is always surrounded by people waiting for bags of golden, sesame-coated snacks.
I’m talking about the famous Thai Fried Banana. These aren’t your usual goreng pisang—they’re thinner and crispier. I enjoyed these so much, I had to order more to take home to the family.
They only have a few items on their menu, which include their signature Yam Chips, which are fluffy on the inside and crackly on the outside.
The one that really got me was the small and mochi-like Sweet Potato Balls. They go so fast, though, so you’ll want to keep an eye on the fryer.
Pro Tip: If you can’t make up your mind, have a bit of everything with the Mixed Favourites. |
6. Dunkin’ Donuts

Hours: Daily – 7 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: Mocha Swirl Latte
Dunkin’ Donuts is that one familiar stop that never really goes out of style. I’ve been grabbing their doughnuts since I was a kid, and biting into one still brings back old memories.
My usual is the Almond White Choc. It’s soft, a little chewy, with sweet white chocolate drizzle and crushed almonds for that extra texture—hits the sweet tooth spot every time.
I like enjoying this with their creamy Mocha Swirl Latte, which has just enough espresso to perk you up without having your heart beat outside your chest. Think of it as a dessert and coffee in one cup.
They’ve expanded their menu too, with sandwiches and more drink options, but I still go back for the classics. It’s great for the typical quick sugar fix or a chill coffee break.
Pro Tip: If you’re craving dessert, get the Cookie MochiMochi—it’s frosted cookies and cream with a chocolate drizzle. |
7. Fish & Co.

Address: 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #02 – 02 AMK Hub

Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 9:30 PM
Must-order: Calamari Rings
Fish & Co. has been my go-to for group meals for years. It’s roomy and portions are generous, which is exactly what you want when dining with family or a bunch of hungry friends.
I always start with their Calamari Rings. They’re so crispy, light, and even better with that creamy dipping sauce.
If you’re splitting mains, their Ocean of Prosperity Platter is an absolutely beautiful showstopper: grilled fish, prawns, mussels, corn, and shrimp all piled onto a big skillet with lemon wedges for that zesty kick.
They switch things up with a “Catch of the Week” too, which is great if you like trying different fish each visit.
Plus, they’ve got birthday perks and a membership program, so if you eat here often, it’s worth signing up.
Pro Tip: Come during lunch to score their value meal specials. |
8. Swensen’s

Address: 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #B1-21A
Phone: +65 6235 9902
Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 10:30 PM
Must-order: Nugget Ice Cream
What started as an ice cream shop in the 1940s is now one of Singapore’s go-to spots for comfort food and family meals. But Swensen’s isn’t just about cold treats anymore.
They offer dishes like pasta, grilled food, and burgers. I was surprised by how good their Garlic Aioli Impossible Burger was—soft brioche bun, juicy plant-based patty, melty Monterey Jack cheese, and a slick of garlicky sauce.
It comes with thick-cut fries and a mini salad, so you don’t feel like you’re just eating fast food.
Even the Smoked Duck Carbonara was delicious with its creamy, cheesy linguine topped with slices of smoky duck and a raw egg yolk you mix in yourself.
But of course, dessert is still the main thing here. The vanilla Nugget Ice Cream is a classic, and it really does look like chicken nuggets.
There’s also a whole range of sundaes and scoops, so it’s worth taking your time flipping through the ice cream menu.
Pro Tip: Try the Chocolate Fondue with five ice cream flavours and all the fun dips. |
9. Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine

Website: http://xiangxianghunancuisine.com/
Address: 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #02-26 AMK Hub
Phone: +65 6908 3866
Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: Hunan Stir-Fry
Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine has been serving dishes since 2009, starting out in Chinatown and slowly building a name for itself through its authentic Hunan-style dishes.
But what I like most is that it doesn’t just focus too much on the heat—it’s more about depth and flavour, not just spice for the sake of it.
As for their signature item, we have the Golden Broth Sour and Spicy Fish. The broth is light but tangy, with a hint of chilli and lemon that lifts the flavour of the fish (which, by the way, is super fresh).
Another one to try is their smoky green peppers and slices of black Iberian pork that’s so tender it practically melts (it’s called Hunan Stir-Fry).
Pro Tip: Make sure to arrive early since the lines get long fast. |
10. DaXi Dumplings

Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/daxisg/
Address: 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 #B1-19/20 AMK Hub
Phone: +65 6257 6422
Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: Smoked Duck Dumplings
DaXi Dumplings is a Taiwanese-style spot that’s big on handmade dumplings, and they’re not shy about getting creative with the fillings.
By this, I mean they have Smoked Duck Dumplings with a subtle sweetness that comes through the tender duck meat and its slightly caramelised glaze.
Or if you want something more savoury, the Salted Egg Pork Dumplings are one of my favourites. It’s able to balance the minced pork with creamy bits of salted egg yolk that melt into the wrapper.
They’ve got the basics too—original pork, Japanese mushroom, and now even chicken variations.
You can get them boiled, pan-fried, or swimming in a warm chicken broth, depending on your mood. Each one’s wrapped and folded daily, so the texture’s spot-on.
Outside of dumplings, I recommend their grilled rice sets and small bites since they round things out if you’re feeling hungrier.
Pro Tip: Portions are on the smaller side, so order a few dishes to fill up. |
