There was a time when I felt hopeless and thought everything in my life had fallen apart. I knew it wasn’t true because I had a job and a family who loved me, but I still couldn’t help thinking that way.

Desperate to change my mindset, I visited one of the country’s top mental health & counselling services for men. In just a few months, my outlook improved, and I became more content with life than ever before.

That experience inspired me to search for the best mental health clinics in Singapore—ones that help not only men, but patients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.

Established in 2018, Restoring Peace Counselling & Consultancy was born out of Rose Faquir’s passion for helping trauma survivors. She has over 16 years of experience as a clinical counsellor and psychotherapist.

We like their trauma-informed, attachment-based approach—a dual framework that addresses both the impact of past events and the ways you connect with others. They focus on “what happened to you” rather than “what’s wrong with you.”

Although they help patients ranging from children to seniors, we discovered that they’re most experienced in working with youth and young adults. These age groups comprise a significant portion of their clientele.

They offer several mental health support services, including therapy for trauma, anxiety, and depression. Clients we interviewed commend the team for using a wide range of therapeutic techniques, making them ideal if you haven’t responded to traditional methods.

However, due to their popularity, we’ve heard that securing an appointment can be difficult.

Pros

  • Nearly a decade in the industry
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Trauma-informed, attachment-based approach
  • Experienced in helping youths and young adults
  • Offers several mental health support services
  • Uses a wide range of therapeutic techniques

Cons

  • Difficult to secure an appointment

Truly trauma-informed and has helped me sit with many difficult instances

“After seeing a couple of therapists, I am glad I found Rose. She is truly trauma-informed and has helped me sit with many difficult instances. She works gently and creatively – walking through different modalities and helping you slow down to really process the past. If you’re looking for deep work (beyond CBT), reach out to Rose and you will not regret it.”

I attribute my growth to the compassionate, trauma-informed approach

“I met Rose as a teenager and she has been my counsellor for close to 10 years. I truly attribute a large part of my growth and healing to her compassionate, trauma-informed approach and professional commitment to her clients. I’m really grateful that our paths crossed all those years ago. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her. It’s also been very heartening to watch Restoring Peace grow into the practice it is today.”

The Mind Care Clinic team has psychiatrists who are experienced in diagnosing and treating various mental illnesses.

Their psychologists provide psychological assessments, from ADHD and IQ to school readiness assessments. Unlike brief screenings, these in-depth evaluations combine clinical interviews and behavioural observations to create a precise “roadmap” for your mental health.

For health care services, they support women facing issues such as the emotional aspects of pregnancy, parenting challenges, and managing menopause, making them a strong option for moms at every stage.

They also offer strong mental health services for the elderly, excelling in the medical treatment and behavioural management of dementia.

But for us, what sets them apart is their access to several innovative neuroimaging technologies. This allows them to move beyond symptom-based diagnosis toward a more biologically-informed approach.

That said, some patients have reported that their appointments were cancelled, which can be a hassle.

Pros

  • Diagnoses and treats various mental illnesses
  • Provides psychological assessments
  • Has women’s health care services
  • Strong elderly mental health support services
  • Has access to several innovative neuroimaging technologies

Cons

  • Reports of cancelled appointments

So comforting and easy to talk to

“I visited Dr. Emily, in the hopes she would be able to help my anxiety attacks. Not only did she help me, but did so with a smile on her face and authority in her voice. She was so comforting and easy to talk to. And let’s not forget about the Sister at reception. She was a joy and so kind when I had a question or two. I highly recommend Mind Care and Dr. Emily.”

Thank you for validating my struggles and guiding me through all the curveballs

“Friendly, compassionate and genuine – that’s how I will describe the people here. Been seeing Dr Emily for years and she’s incredibly patient and kind. Thank you for validating my struggles and guiding me through all the curveballs. Her admin staff, Li Fang is also super sweet and I love to chat with her. 💕 They recently renovated the clinic and the space is twice as large as before.”

Adelphi Psych Medicine Clinic was founded in 2015 by Dr John Bosco Lee. He invited a group of like-minded therapists—comprising counsellors and psychologists—to join his practice.

The team provides psychological therapies, including play therapy for children, art therapy for all ages, clinical hypnosis, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

We love that their treatments include both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic care. This approach often yields better outcomes for conditions like depression and bipolar disorder, because medications can manage the intensity of acute symptoms.

Apart from their mental health services, we also appreciate their seven-day operation. Unlike most clinics, they accommodate patients on Sundays by appointment.

One thing worth noting is that some former patients have reported counsellors rushing through appointments.

Pros

  • 10+ years in service
  • Combines pharmacological and psychotherapeutic care
  • Offers multiple psychological therapies
  • Available even on weekends

Cons

  • Reports of rushed appointments

Helped me better understand myself from a personality point of view

“Dr John is very trustworthy and experienced. He gives only his best for his patients and listens very patiently. His medication has greatly improved my condition with the least side effects and I’m extremely grateful to him. Ms Joanna, who Dr John referred me to, has also helped me better understand myself from a personality point of view and resolve internal conflicts. The clinic and staff are also warm and friendly. Highly recommend this sincere team if you require professional advice and support.”

A compassionate listener

“Janice has been integral towards my recovery journey from GAD and MDD. A compassionate listener, therapy with Janice always feels like a safe space to work on my traumas both past and recent. If you require therapy for any mental health conditions or just life situations and curveballs, I highly recommend Janice with her wealth of experience and clinically proven techniques, you will be in very good hands.”

The Counseling Perspective team believes in the transformative power of therapy; that’s why they give their all to support patients on their journey to a healthier life.

Our jaws dropped when we found out that they have over 20 therapists. This gives you more choices when it comes to finding the best fit and scheduling.

But what really caught our attention was their wellness services that heal not just your mind but also your body and spirit. These include sound therapy and breathwork.

Knowledgeable in trauma counselling and creates a safe, compassionate space

“I’ve found Lili to be very supportive during our sessions. She is highly knowledgeable in trauma counselling and creates a safe, compassionate space where her thoughtful insights really resonate and help me reflect. I appreciate how she shares helpful resources after sessions when she feels they’ll be beneficial. Lili has encouraged complementary somatic therapies, which have deepened my healing process, and she introduced EMDR therapy in a way that felt safe and reassuring. I’d highly recommend Lili to anyone looking for a grounded, well-rounded approach to their healing journey”

Helped me ask the right questions and decide for myself

“I had a tough time the past year at work and at some point it was too much to handle on my own. Needed a safe space to talk and a sounding board where I don’t have to worry about being judged. I felt comfortable with Chei Liang, she helped me ask the right questions and decide for myself. Sometimes I wonder where I’d be had I not tried therapy, but I feel calmer and more able to navigate work (and life). Thank you Chei Liang!”
