The 10 Best Restaurants in Singapore That Never Fail to Hit the Spot

For my friends and me, eating out isn’t an occasional treat, but a way of life. We often plan our hangouts around food, hopping from one place to another just to see what’s new.

There are days when we pass small plates around the table, and some nights when we devour towering burgers together.

Over the years, we’ve explored more restaurants than we can count.  Here are the best places in Singapore that made every food coma absolutely worth it.

1. Hadramawt Kitchen

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 12 PM to 10 PM
  • Friday: 2 PM to 10 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12 PM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Grilled Chicken with Pita Bread

Hadramawt Kitchen is easily one of the finest Yemeni restaurants in Singapore. Their signature dishes were even featured in the Sunday Times, which, honestly, isn’t surprising once you’ve tasted them.

If you’re here for some meat, go for the Grilled Chicken with Pita Bread. The chicken is juicy and tender, and it goes perfectly with their soft, warm pita. You can order a half or whole portion, so it works whether you’re dining solo or sharing with friends.

For drinks, I usually go for their signature teas—Cardamom, Na’ana’a, or Adeni. But if you’re a coffee person, try the crowd-favourite Gahwa, a traditional Arabic coffee.

Pro Tip:

Be aware that they don’t sell alcohol, and their kitchen closes at 9:15 PM.

2. Aburi-EN (Isetan Scotts)

  • Tuesday to Sunday: 11 AM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Salmon Ikura Don

Aburi-EN is a multi-location restaurant that’s known for its high-quality Japanese grilled meats and donburi. Their A4/A5 Miyazaki Wagyu dishes are the best, winning Japan’s national wagyu award not just once, but four consecutive times!

One of their low-key classics is Salmon Ikura Don, which is only available at Isetan Scotts and JEM branches. It’s a combination of salmon, Japanese rolled omelette, and ikura on sushi rice.

For those who love to get together with their little ones, they offer two kids’ meals, Buta Udon and Buta Rice, both served with grilled pork loin, fries, corn, carrot, and edamame.

Pro Tip:

Keep an eye out for special offers on their website, including one-for-one highballs and mocktails, and discounted lunch and dinner sets.

3. Kimchi Dining

  • Monday to Friday: 11:30 AM to 3 PM, 6 PM to 10 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11:30 AM to 10 PM

Must-Order: Gamjajeon

Kimchi Dining is, no doubt, one of those spots to visit when craving Korean cuisine. The flavours are authentic, and every bite just feels right. On top of that, they’re located on the sixth floor of Orchard Central with breathtaking skylight views.

My friends and I love to reserve window seats and share Gamjajeon (potato pancake) while talking about random stuff and looking at the city lights. It’s their most popular dish, and guests love it due to its mochi-like texture and savoury flavour.

When it comes to beverages, don’t miss out on their special house-made Makgeolli cocktails. You can have it à la carte or in a set of four varieties, including fresh ginseng, Jeju tangerine, grapefruit, and apple cucumber.

Pro Tip:

Factor the GST plus 10% service charge into your budget when you visit.

4. The Little Pig

Website: https://thelittlepig.net/

Address: 135 E Coast Rd

Contact Details:

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 12 PM to 11 PM

Must-Order: Classic Fish & Chips

This charming British restaurant hasn’t always gone by The Little Pig. It started as The Victoria, until one day, a piglet from a nearby farm escaped and wandered right through its doors.

That same playful spirit still lingers in the place today, woven into its welcoming atmosphere and the hearty dishes coming out of its kitchen.

When I want a full meal, I order their Classic Fish & Chips. The fried golden-brown fish is appetising to look at, served with hand-cut chips and mushy peas. The tartar sauce adds a fresh flavour to the meal.

For meat lovers, they organise a Sunday roast from noon to 3 PM, where you can choose between pork, beef, and chicken. Just add $15, and drink unlimited Prosecco and rosé wine.

Pro Tip:

For extra fun, swing by on a Wednesday and join the evening quiz night with your gang.

5. Khao Hom by Rung Mama (AMK)

Address: 5 Ang Mo Kio Central 2, #01-06

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 11 AM to 9:30 PM

Must-Order: Tiger Prawn with Garlic & Chilli

Khao Hom by Rung Mama has been serving authentic Thai food with recipes originating from Rung Mama’s Kitchen since the 1980s. They were featured by Singapore Foodie once.

I love their seafood, particularly the Tiger Prawn with Garlic & Chilli. Every bite has a satisfying crunch, and the garlic perfectly balances the heat of chilli, giving it a slightly sweet taste.

I can’t think of a better pair for such a dish than their Thai craft beers. Whether you go for Pale Ale or Rice Lager, they won’t overpower the meal’s savoury flavour.

Pro Tip:

If the AMK branch is full (which often happens), try their other locations at Katong Square and Pasir Ris Mall.

6. JAAN By Kirk Westaway

Website: https://www.jaan.sg/

Address: 2 Stamford Rd, Level 70

Contact Details:

Business Hours:

  • Tuesday to Saturday: 11:45 AM to 2:30 PM, 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Must-Order: Goose Mousse

JAAN opened in 2001 as a French fine dining restaurant. But when Kirk Westaway became the head chef, he transformed the place into a modern British cuisine destination and earned it a two Michelin-star rating.

For me, their Goose Mousse is a must-order. The mousse itself is silky and smooth in texture. But what makes it addictive is the red onion marmalade, which adds sweetness to the meal.

If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll surely love their specially curated lunch and dinner menus that have mushroom cracker, kabocha pumpkin, cauliflower pancake, and cheddar straw.

Pro Tip:

Because they only have 40 seats, reservations are required via SevenRooms.

7. Summer Pavilion

Address: 7 Raffles Ave., Level 3 The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM

Must-Order: Steamed Prawn, Bamboo Shoot Dumpling

Summer Pavilion is a sophisticated restaurant on the third floor of The Ritz-Carlton Millenia. They serve Cantonese cuisine and have been awarded one Michelin star for nine consecutive years since 2016.

The Chinese garden-inspired setting, with its elegant touches and tranquil vibe, makes me forget I’m still in the middle of the city. Even the hand-painted tableware adds to the charm, giving the place an Instagrammable appeal without trying too hard.

It’s super relaxing to be here while nibbling on their Steamed Prawn, Bamboo Shoot Dumpling. The skin is thin and slightly chewy, offering a delicate cushion to the savoury shrimp inside.

Pro Tip:

Make your friends happy by giving them one Summer Pavilion’s gift certificates. They can get an orchid set lunch menu, a peony set dinner menu, and a signature lunch or dinner menu—all for two guests.

8. Cappadocia Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant

Address: 67 Bussorah St

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 11 AM to 11 PM

Must-Order: Meze Tabagi

Cappadocia specialises in authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine prepared by highly experienced chefs. They’re located in the historic Kampong Glam area along Arab Street.

We asked one of their staff members about their bestsellers, and he suggested trying Meze Tabagi. What we love about this platter of appetisers is that you get to taste several dishes in just one serving. It has coban salata, ezme, and babaganoush—served with lavash bread.

Another fan-favourite that’s worth every penny is Testi Kebab. It’s cooked slowly in a traditional clay pot, making it so soft that it almost falls apart and melts in your mouth.

Pro Tip:

Sit on the outdoor terrace to experience the street’s cosy and sometimes noisy yet lively atmosphere.

9. TANI Bistro

Address: 2 Serangoon Rd, #01-16/17

  • Thursday: 10:30 AM to 11 PM
  • Friday to Sunday: 10:30 AM to 11:30 PM

Must-Order: Chicken Biryani

TANI Bistro is our option when we just want to chill at home and watch Netflix together all day. They operate as a cloud kitchen, serving Indian cuisine nationwide.

One of their most loved dishes is Chicken Biryani, and I can tell why. The marinated chicken is cooked with long-grain basmati rice and traditional Indian spices, giving the food a strong and appealing aroma.

If you’re craving fusion meals, I highly recommend trying one of their Indo-Chinese dishes. They have Chilli Garlic Prawn, Chicken, Szechuan Fried Rice, Gobi Manchurian, and Veg Hakka Noodles.

Pro Tip:

Don’t forget to check out their lunch specials for discounted combo meals.

10. Casuarina Bistro

Business Hours:

Must-Order: Taco de Pescado Fish

Casuarina Bistro offers a wide selection of Mexican, Western, and Italian dishes. The place’s casual atmosphere and shareable options make it a perfect spot for groups.

Their special Taco de Pescado Fish keeps us coming back. The battered fish topped with red cabbage, Pico de Gallo, avocado, and chipotle mayo is wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. You’ll taste various satisfying flavours in every bite.

If you’re not full yet, order one of their desserts, particularly the homemade brownies with fresh garlic and vegetable broth.

Pro Tip:

Visit on a Friday night to enjoy their in-house karaoke session from 8 PM to 11 PM.
