The Princeton Review Singapore is part of a U.S. education company that’s been around for over 40 years and now operates in more than 20 countries.

One thing I really appreciate is that they don’t treat SAT prep as one-size-fits-all. Students can choose from group classes, online and self-paced courses, or private tutoring for extra one-on-one support. 

Their programmes are structured around full-length mock tests and up-to-date study materials. 

The lessons themselves come with instructors who break down challenging math problems and reading strategies into actionable steps that students can apply under time pressure. 

They’re quite knowledgeable since they have experience as subject specialists and even some U.S.-certified SAT instructors.

As for the cost, they offer flexible packages across different tiers, with private tutoring at the higher end. Though a lot of the parents we spoke to suggest getting a slot as early as possible, since they run out quickly.

Established in 1999, Manhattan Review has grown into a multinational education firm with a presence across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. 

In Singapore, they cover everything from SAT and ACT to GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and even TOEFL, alongside admissions consulting and career coaching.

A key differentiator is their tutors. Classes are led by 99th-percentile scorers and graduates from Ivy League and other elite schools, which really adds weight to the guidance students receive.

The sessions themselves are small, structured, and designed to focus on conceptual understanding instead of relying on quick tricks.

On the flip side, they’ve raised their prices, and availability has become scarce due to high demand.

Plenty of high schoolers mention enrolling with them because they’re especially strong in U.S. and U.K. pathways, guiding students through overseas admissions. 

They combine test prep with admissions consulting, so it makes sense that their service is a bit pricey given the focus on top foreign schools.

Beyond SAT and ACT prep, they also cover BMAT, UCAT, and TSA, and provide tools like a mini SAT diagnostic and admissions strengths test to help students understand where they stand.

From talking with the counsellors, it’s clear they put effort into setting clear milestones for each student. They even send regular progress reports and hold check-ins, so students always know how they’re doing and what’s next.

The teachers are known for being supportive, too. They help students showcase their strengths while building confidence throughout the process.

I especially like how, whether it’s group classes or one-on-one sessions, everything is still small-scale enough for individual attention. 

The kids often point out the teachers’ dedication and engaging lessons, with many saying the materials are comprehensive and easy to follow. 

Unlike many prep centres, they’re pretty reasonably priced. But that means you’ll be competing to book a slot.
