Top 8 Korean BBQ Restaurants in Singapore That are Worth Smelling Like Smoke For
I love Korean BBQ. Like, really love it.
When I’m out with family, I’m the one nudging everyone toward a BBQ joint, asking just one innocent question: “Shall we?” Next thing we know, we’re elbow-deep in grilled meats and lettuce wraps everywhere.
It feels like one of Korea’s greatest contributions to the world, right next to K-pop and glass skin.
Eventually, though, my family staged a mini-intervention. We were getting too round for our own good. So we cut back (a little).
But by then, I’d already dragged them to so many different spots, always chasing the next best cut of pork belly.
So now, here’s my gift back to Singapore: a list of the best Korean BBQ places I’ve tried. Just a heads-up, though—you might leave very full… and a little bit rounder.
1. Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant

Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 11:30 AM to 3 PM; 5 PM to 12 AM
- Saturday – 11:30 AM to 12 AM
- Sunday – 11:30 AM to 11 PM
Must-order: Prime Beef Rib
Guiga sure looks fancy, but not in a way that makes you feel underdressed. It’s in one of those corner shophouses with colonial bones, and inside it’s all clean lines, cool air, and plenty of space to eat in peace.
It’s clear they’ve put just as much thought into service as they have into the atmosphere. I always loved the staff’s attentiveness, especially how they manage tables with clockwork timing.
And yes, the food holds up. Premium beef cuts like Wagyu Dengsim and Prime Beef Rib are known for their depth of flavor and quality.
But I still think about their Marinated Crab and Steamed Egg. One’s briny and packed with roe, the other’s soft and savory—both totally worth ordering.
Pro Tip: Swing by during lunch to get the most value—set menus often include favorites like soy-marinated crab and kimchi soup. |
2. Wang Dae Bak Pocha Korean BBQ

- Friday – 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM; 5:30 PM to 10 PM
- Saturday – 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM
- Sunday – Closed
Must-order: Marinated Pork Collar
Wang Dae Bak Pocha is modeled after a traditional pojangmacha (Korean street stall), complete with retro fonts, drink posters, and wooden paneling that makes the whole place like a nostalgic, night-market.
Behind the playful storefront is a multi-award-winning restaurant known for charcoal-grilled meats and a menu that combines comfort food with serious attention to quality.
I get why people keep going back for the meat—my favorites were the Marinated Pork Collar and Spicy Pork Belly.
Each cut is grilled right at your table over charcoal (with help from attentive staff), and you get free-flow sides like fluffy mashed potatoes and sweet marinated eggs.
One family I sat near couldn’t stop raving about the “Aunty Set,” which came with enough food to feed a small army!
Other than the generous portions, there are also birthday perks and membership freebies, like fried chicken or beer, that give diners more reason to return.
Pro Tip: Book a reservation ahead of time since seats fill up fast during peak hours. |
3. Nanta BBQ

- Tuesday to Sunday – 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM; 5:30 PM to 10 PM
Must-order: Premium A5 Wagyu and Kurobuta Pork
Opened in 2014 by Mr. Kim, Nanta BBQ is known for dry-aged meats grilled over Binchotan charcoal—something they proudly say no one else in Singapore does quite like them.
Of course, the star of the show is their signature, Premium A5 Wagyu and Kurobuta Pork, which is dry-aged for 40 days and served with sides like cheese, garlic, and fresh lettuce.
The Cold Noodle Soup was another great dish for me, it’s refreshingly cold and perfect for when you need a break from all that grilled meat.
You should also take note of the banchan bar. It’s self-service with free-flowing kimchi and fresh condiments, and kids love the army stew for its mild heat and over-the-top toppings.
Pro Tip: Ask the staff for doneness preference—they’ll cook it exactly how you like it. |
4. SEORAE Korean Charcoal BBQ

Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday – 11:30 AM to 10 PM
- Friday and Saturday – 11:30 AM to 12 AM
Must-order: Galmaegisal
First launched in Seorae Village, Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ brings together royal flair and homestyle warmth, true to their motto, “Eat like Royals and Feel at Home.”
They live up to that statement through their specialty of rare pork cuts like Galmaegisal (pork skirt). It’s prized for its wagyu-like texture, along with smoked meats that get their depth from oakwood and hay in traditional onggi pots.
It’s a method that’s rarely used in Singapore and makes for a smoky, rich profile that Korean BBQ fans won’t forget.
Their service gets just as much attention as the food. On my visit, staff like Tim and Raj, took time to explain each dish, swap hot grills, and plate everything perfectly.
Pro Tip: Go for the JIB Platter if you like variety. It lets you wrap your meats in everything from lettuce to tortilla and seaweed. |
5. Super Star K

Address: 75 Tanjong Pagar Road
Phone: +65 6224 0504
Hours: Daily – 11:30 AM to 3 PM; 5:30 PM to 2 AM
Must-order: Pork Set
Tanjong Pagar has no shortage of Korean BBQ joints, but Super Star K holds its own with consistent quality and generous portions.
The pork set tends to be a popular pick, especially when it comes with fluffy steamed egg and banchan like japchae and marinated roe rice balls.
Beef lovers also speak highly of the premium cuts, which are grilled just right with a slight crisp on the outside.
What really sets it apart, though, is the service. The staff are warm and attentive—sometimes even grilling the meats for you at the table. Hats off to the lady boss, in particular, for her hands-on hospitality.
They’ve also recently switched from charcoal to gas grills, which some miss—but the food’s still satisfying enough that most don’t mind.
Pro Tip: Order the Ganjang Gejang (soy-marinated raw crab) early. It’s one of the most praised versions in Singapore, with a generous amount of roe. |
6. Captain Kim Korean BBQ & Hotpot

Must-order: Volcano Chicken
Captain Kim puts halal Korean BBQ and hotpot into one easygoing buffet spot. It works great for groups, and they never leave out those with mixed dietary needs.
With over 60 meats and ingredients, and unlimited drinks, it’s the place you go to when you’re hungry and want value for money.
I’d recommend their best-seller, Volcano Chicken, which is made with a punchy marinade with just the right amount of spiciness.
Though you can never go wrong with their signature Chicken Wings, since they’re crispy on the outside and juicy inside!
Pro Tip: Visit during weekday lunch hours for a quieter dining experience and freshly restocked meat trays. |
7. Chang Korean Charcoal BBQ

Phone: +65 6473 9005
Email: [email protected]
Hours: Daily – 12 PM to 3 PM; 6 PM to 10 PM
Must-order: Soy-Marinated Crab
Hiding away in the greenery of Loewen Road, Chang Korean Charcoal BBQ brings fine dining to the world of Korean barbecue.
The restaurant’s serene Dempsey setting and minimalist white-toned interior give it an almost spa-like calm, making it a go-to for special occasions or a quieter meal out.
The food lives up to the setting, too. Chang is known for its premium cuts, beautifully grilled (either at your table or in the kitchen to keep things smoke-free).
The Spicy Pork is my favorite—charred just enough to bring out the flavor without overpowering the marinade.
I also have to mention the Banchan here, with items like Soy-Marinated Crab sometimes making a surprise appearance depending on the day.
Pro Tip: Let the staff grill your meat away from your table. It’s their default for dine-in and helps you avoid the usual post-BBQ smoky smell on your clothes. |
8. 8 Korean BBQ

Hours:
- Monday to Friday, except Wednesday – 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM; 5:30 PM to 10 PM
- Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday – 11:30 AM to 10 PM
Must-order: 8 Colors Set
8 Korean BBQ built its name around pork belly—specifically, eight flavors of it. The 8 Colors Set comes with thick, juicy slices marinated in options like miso, ginseng, red pepper paste, and garlic.
It’s a fun way to mix and match, especially when paired with the house kimchi stew or fresh banchan on the side.
If you’re more into beef, the menu doesn’t disappoint either. USDA Prime, Wagyu, and Argentinian grass-fed cuts are available—great picks if you want melt-in-your-mouth texture with that perfect char from the grill.
The Shaw Center branch itself is also worth noting! It’s modern, well-ventilated, and equipped with built-in chimneys over each grill, so you won’t leave smelling like smoke.
Pro Tip: Ask the staff to recommend a flavor sequence for the pork belly set. They usually suggest starting with the lighter ones, like ginseng or herb, before moving to bold flavors like curry or red pepper paste. |
