13 Best Things to Do in Clarke Quay (Insider’s Insights Included!)

When Singaporeans think of Clarke Quay, we automatically think of its bustling nightlife. But hey, as much as we love a good party, there are so many more things to discover here.

After all, any party animal needs a break from the dance floor every now and then to give others a chance to shine!

From hair-raising activities that will make you question your life choices to kicking back with a cold one by the river, here are the best things to do in this neighborhood from your friendly local guide.

1. Try a heart-pounding activity at GX-5 Extreme Swing

Operating hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, and Sunday – 4:30 PM to 11:30 PM

Before all the fun and thrills commence in Clarke Quay, how about some heart-pounding activity first?

GX-5 Extreme Swing will surely get its job done if you’re in the hunt for an exciting (and a bit horrifying) experience.

It’s exactly like the name entails – it’s a swing, but it’s not something you’d usually see in playgrounds. Unlike traditional playground equipment, this one lets you swing 40 meters above ground at speeds exceeding 120 kph.

If you’re looking for something more adrenaline-pumping and almost death-defying, give the slingshot a try.

It catapults you 70 meters into the air. It’s scary, but at least the views are great from up there!

2. Try seafood dishes at JUMBO Seafood

Address: 30 Merchant Rd, #01-01/02 Riverside Point, Singapore 058282

Contact details: +65 6532 3435

  • Monday to Sunday – 11:30 AM to 11 PM

There’s no better place to enjoy a fresh and tasty seafood dish than near the waters. And if you’re in Clarke Quay, JUMBO Seafood is usually the place to go.

To get the most out of your experience, we suggest indulging in a flavorful plate of chili crab as you admire the serene atmosphere brought by the Singapore River.

This delicious concoction is their specialty, which is why it’s unsurprising that it’s a crowd favorite.

Each bite is like a flavor explosion of different ingredients, resulting in a tantalizing blend of taste that dances on your taste buds.

Another noteworthy dish is the black pepper crab, a crowd-pleaser for its savory and sweet flavor profile.

As mentioned, Clarke Quay is known for its bustling nightlife, with rows and rows of bars that promise a fantastic night in Singapore.

One particular favorite of ours is Chupitos, adorned with neon lights that elevate the excitement buzzing in the atmosphere.

Its plethora of shot options is the icing on the cake, or in this case, perhaps the olives on a martini. Surprisingly, their food is pretty good too, which is something you won’t expect in a bar.
