Top 7 Weekend Markets in Singapore That’ll Make Malls Feel Overrated

I was tired of my usual routine of being cooped up at home during day-offs. So one weekend, I decided to step out and get a breath of fresh air.

That’s when I stumbled upon a crowd—friends laughing and stalls buzzing with life. Curious, I followed them down a narrow lane lined with colourful tents and the smell of grilled food.

I soon realised I’d wandered into a local market. I ended up chatting with a few vendors, who told me they were open every weekend.

That discovery made me relieved; there was just so much to take in that day that I didn’t know where to start. So instead of rushing to buy anything, I came back the next weekend…and then the one after that.

If you’re ready to spend your free time the same way, here are my top weekend markets in Singapore!

1. The Luggage Market

Website: https://www.booktlm.com

Address: Aperia Mall, 12 Kallang Ave, L1 Atrium

Hours:

  • Sunday – 11 AM to 6 PM
  • Monday to Saturday – Closed

I’ve heard of The Luggage Market being Singapore’s largest thrift market—they offer loads of second-hand items at such affordable prices. People even call it “the biggest thrift party” with over 60 booths to explore.

Here, sellers display their preloved goods straight out of luggage, keeping things simple and fun. You’ll find plenty of clothes, bags, and jewellery to browse through, and with the constant stream of shoppers, it’s almost impossible to leave empty-handed.

It’s also a great spot if you’ve got clothes you no longer wear—just rent a booth and give them a new home while earning some extra cash.

And if you happen to find a vendor you like, keep an eye out for their personalised cardboard signs so you can visit them again next time!

Pro Tip:

Going around can get pretty exhausting, so make sure to bring water and a snack to reenergize.

2. Fleawhere @ Dhoby Ghaut

Hours:

  • Saturday and Sunday – 12 PM to 6 PM
  • Monday to Friday – Closed

Unlike most flea markets, people seem to flock to Fleawhere for one big reason—air-conditioning! I thought that was funny at first, but after spending some time there, I realised it’s only part of the charm.

The crowd here is full of stylish folks and trendsetters trying out new aesthetics. You’ll see people mixing and matching pre-loved fashion finds, discovering thrifted gems, and just genuinely enjoying the process of finding clothes that make them happy.

It’s such a feel-good sight to watch someone light up over the perfect piece.

What makes Fleawhere even better is its focus on sustainability. It’s not just about clothes; they also feature upcycled home goods and eco-friendly items like reusable straws, tote bags, handmade candles, and sustainable decor.

Pro Tip:

Wear comfy, fitted clothes so you can easily try pieces over what you’re wearing.

3. Curbside Crafters

Address: 730 N Bridge Rd, Floor 1

Hours:

  • Tuesday to Sunday – 11 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Monday – Closed

Curbside Crafters is the go-to spot for crafters, entrepreneurs, and artists who want to showcase their handmade creations and artisanal goods.

You’ll notice that the air is filled with the scent of candles and perfumes, which slowly gives way to the smell of food as you move deeper inside. There are always lots of customers around those areas.

The ceramics and jewellery sections are also buzzing with people, given how beautiful and unique the pieces are.

I’ve even joined a few of their workshops myself! They host everything from leather crafting and candle making to sewing and more.

But the one that always gets the most sign-ups is the terrarium-making class. It’s where you get to design your own mini garden inside a glass container, layering soil, pebbles, and little plants to create something personal and relaxing to look after.

Pro Tip:

Arrive early if you plan to join any workshops.

Hours:

  • Tuesday to Sunday – 12 PM to 7 PM
  • Monday – Closed

Katong Square Lifestyle & Vintage Market is known as Singapore’s largest vintage and lifestyle market, and it’s a total treasure trove for anyone who loves retro finds.

You’ll see everything from old board games and vintage matchboxes to vinyl records and antique decor, and that’s just scratching the surface.

What I really love is the mix of people here. You’ll spot older vendors proudly selling pieces from their collections while younger visitors excitedly browse through the stalls, swapping stories and tips about their finds.

And if you’re into collecting, this is definitely the place to be. There are fellow enthusiasts and experts who know their stuff, whether it’s about restoring vintage items or hunting down rare collectables.

Pro Tip:

Bring cash; some vendors don’t accept online payments.

5. Cosford Container Park Weekend Market

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 11 AM to 11 PM
  • Friday – 11 AM to 1 AM
  • Saturday and Sunday – 8:30 AM to 11 PM

Cosford Container Park Weekend Market is like a mini festival every weekend! It’s an outdoor market made up of colourful shipping containers (mostly pink), filled with local vendors, food stalls, and plenty of spots to sit, eat, and just soak in the atmosphere.

Each week has a different theme, so you’ll never get the same experience twice. One weekend might be all about vintage fashion, and the next could feature handmade jewellery, chic clothes, and even quirky collectables.

One of the coolest things I’ve seen there was a live act featuring people dressed as mermaids swimming in a tank and blowing heart-shaped bubbles—it was such a fun surprise!

They even hold movie nights sometimes; I remember when they showed the Avatar: The Last Airbender screening, which drew such a huge crowd.

Pro Tip:

Visit at night to enjoy the place all lit up.

6. Makers’ Market

Website: https://makersmarket.sg

WhatsApp: +65 9697 3884

Makers’ is a creative pop-up market that brings together local artists and makers, each selling their artisanal products.

You’ll find all sorts of things here: perfumes, jewellery, crochet pieces, keychains, and even refreshing homemade drinks to cool off while you browse.

What I like most about it is the atmosphere. It’s not overly crowded or loud, just a chill, friendly space where you can take your time looking around and chatting with the people behind the crafts.

It’s nice to just meet the makers themselves and hear the stories behind their work. It’s such a simple but meaningful way to support local talent and discover new favourites along the way.

Since it’s held outdoors, you also get to enjoy the sun and a bit of fresh air while you shop.

Pro Tip:

It can get warm, so pack a fan and an umbrella.

7. Twilight: Flea & Feast

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twilightfeast/

Address: 1 Raffles Blvd, Floor 3

Email: [email protected]

Hours: Daily – 12 PM to 10 PM

Twilight: Flea & Feast is a halal food and flea market inspired by Australia’s hawker-style night markets, mixing food, fashion, and entertainment under one roof.

I think it’s called Twilight because of its dim, black-ceiling setup. It gives the place this stadium-like feel, which is perfect for entertainers!

You’ll hear singers performing live, spot magicians doing tricks, and see musicians playing everything from guitars to drums.

The kids usually crowd around the arcade games like claw machines, racing games, or air hockey.

Plus, the food is absolutely worth the trip. You can munch on chicken wings and baked sushi, or try different types of coffee. There are even a ton of desserts to end your day on a sweet note.

With so many sponsors and vendors involved, you can count on the quality being top-notch every time.

Pro Tip:

Check their Instagram for updates on performances.
