When it comes to wagyu beef, Ushidoki Wagyu Kaiseki provides an exceptional dining experience. This fine dining restaurant in Tras Street specializes in serving the best of Japanese Ozaki beef and fresh milk from Shinmura farm in Hokkaido.

In contrast to the majority of wagyu in Japan, which are slaughtered at about 28 months, Ozaki cows are slaughtered between 32 and 34 months of age, guaranteeing that the resulting meat is flavorful and easy to digest. 

We love how the cooks at this restaurant carefully prepare each meal to bring out the full flavor of the ingredients. They are skilled and passionate about what they do.

Another highlight is the fresh milk from the Shinmura farm in Hokkaido. This milk came from cows who live in a stress-free environment so they may produce natural and excellent milk. 

The restaurant’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact through working with nature is also clear, which is a plus as well.

When it comes to the service, Usidoki Wagyu Kaiseki is top-notch, with staff who are knowledgeable and friendly. The chefs are professional and the servers are well-informed about the food that they offer.

The only real downside of this establishment is the expensive menu but that’s to be expected when it comes to wagyu. If you have the budget, the experience is well worth the cost.

Fat Cow is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in Orchard Boulevard, and another great option if you’re looking for authentic wagyu.  It specializes in using simple Japanese cooking methods to enhance the flavors of the meat.

In terms of aesthetics, the restaurant’s interior design embodies the concepts of asymmetry, akin to Wes Anderson’s movies. This provides a good photo opportunity for customers. 

We love the restaurant’s Kikaku set because it includes some of the best meals the restaurant has to offer. 

Included in this set are the Wagyu Sumibiyaki, which offers a choice between Ohmi wagyu ribeye and Saga wagyu sirloin, as well as the Tai No Kuro Toryufu, which is sliced bream with black truffle and seasoned kelp.

Many of the restaurant’s menu items provide a burst of flavors that aren’t common in other restaurants. 

Despite being a modern twist on Japanese traditional meals, it’s still leaning more toward the classics, which is great because everything feels authentic.

Despite the cheaper price, this steakhouse prides itself on only partnering with cattle farmers in Okayama prefecture, Japan, to ensure the best-quality beef for their customers.

One of the highlights of this establishment is the fact that customers can order their meal based on the type of cut of the meat. 

Butchers at Bizen are experienced enough to make sure that each slice of meat is delicately cut. The restaurant offers different types of cuts, including the basic butcher cut, adventure cut, and prime cut. 

These steaks are cooked and served using methods best suited for the cut, and they are caramelized over high-intensity Japanese-imported porcelain charcoal grills.

We also appreciate that the restaurant is not just limited to steaks. It offers a variety of other dishes, such as burgers, chops, and fusion side dishes with a Japanese touch. 

However, the restaurant’s mood could use some work. It doesn’t feel like a wagyu restaurant because of its basic aesthetics.
