Don’t sweat Singapore’s peak season! Your Cheat Sheet for the Best Months to Visit

February 12, 2023, my phone notified me with a message and picture of Sarah, my Californian BFF, grinning next to the Changi Airport. “Singapore, here I come!” screamed the text.

Guilt gnawed at me. We’d talked about her trip for months, but I had completely forgotten to mention the full-blast crowd that month.

During her three-day stay, she still enjoyed exploring the Lion City, but by the time she left, she had a newfound appreciation for a “ghost town.”

Lesson learned: long-distance friends need local knowledge about their best friend’s country.

That’s why I created this blog to remind them of the best months to visit Singapore, even during its peak season. But I’m sure you’ll find this handy, too!

What are the best months to travel to Singapore during peak season?

The best months to travel to Singapore during peak season are December to early February. These are the perfect times to experience prime holidays such as Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year.

In which months can you avoid crowds during Singapore’s peak season?

To avoid the crowds during peak season in Singapore, you may consider traveling in the shoulder months of March, May, and September.

These periods offer a balance of fewer tourists, pleasant weather, and access to major attractions without the intense crowds.

One place that will leave your mouth open with a wide “O” in Singapore is the Gardens by the Bay–it’s even more spectacular during Singapore’s peak season.

The combination of spectacular light shows, themed floral displays, special exhibitions, and festive events creates an atmosphere of magic and excitement that will leave you in awe.

This creative brilliance makes this place a must-visit, especially during the peak seasons of March to August, as it extends its closing hours for the OCBC Garden Rhapsody show.

Visiting during peak season, especially around the festive periods of May, June, and August, means the skyline is often adorned with additional decorations and lights, providing a magical backdrop for your photos.
