If you’re looking for a fun and exciting destination for you and your little ones, look no further than Admiralty Park Playground in Singapore! This park is one of my most recommended places when it comes to having fun trips with your kids. 

I may not have kids myself, but I enjoy visiting this park every once in a while with my siblings. This sprawling playground is the largest in the country, and it offers a plethora of thrilling attractions that will keep your kids entertained for hours on end.

Aside from the amazing activities in the playground, I also appreciate the peaceful view that it offers. The playground is situated amidst verdant greenery in the northern part of Singapore, which is a perfect spot for families to escape the hustle and bustle of city life 

Let me give you a little tour around the park and show you everything you need to know including how to get there, why you should visit, what things to bring, and tips to keep in mind. 

Admiralty Park Playground Location 

Admiralty Park Playground is located inside the Woodlands district on the Northern side of Singapore. 

The area where the playground is built features hilly terrain and a view of the Sungei Cina River. The location of Admiralty Park makes the all-terrain playground experience possible through the hill slopes. 

Admiralty Park Hours and Best Time to Visit 

The Admiralty Park is open 24 hours from Monday to Sunday. However, the playground lighting hours are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. 

The best time to visit the playground is between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM since this is the time when the park is well-lit. 

This makes it easier for you to observe your child’s activities within the playground. 

I would recommend visiting the park in the late afternoon between 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The sun is down during these hours and the chance of getting sunburn is less. 

Is there a fee at Admiralty Park Playground Singapore? 

Admission to Admiralty Park Playground is completely free. You can enter the premises of the park anytime you want without worrying about any charges. 

How to Get to Admiralty Park Playground 

To get to the Admiralty Park Playground, you need to ride a train to Woodland MRT station at the North-South and Thomson East Coastline. The entrance to the park is a 15-minute walk from the station. 

Bus commuters can take bus 902 or 169 at the Woodland interchange and drop at the second stop. 

The drop off for bus 902 will be at the stop opposite the Admiralty Park entrance. Meanwhile, bus 169 drops off right outside the Republic Polytechnic which is a 3-minute walk from the park. 

Reasons to Visit Admiralty Park Playground

The hillside terrain of Admiralty Park is one of the reasons why it is regarded as one of the best playgrounds in Singapore. It provides plenty of opportunities to create huge slides and climbing walls, which isn’t possible in other parks. 

In the section below, I will introduce you to some of the things that make Admiralty Park Playground a great place to take your kids. 

It’s bigger than other playgrounds. 

Admiralty Park Playground is considered to be one of the biggest playgrounds in the Northern region of Singapore. This gives you and your kids plenty of areas to explore and play in. 

The whole playground is 7 hectares big and is divided into three different zones. These zones are known as the Junior Play, Adventure Play, and Family Terracing Play areas.  

Junior Play is perfect for children between 2 to 5 years old so the slides are not that high nor is there any challenge. Most use this area for guided play with their kids.

The Adventure Play area features two huge roller slides that are about 32 meters long. It is designed for mixed-age play groups and is perfect for families with kids of varying ages. 

My younger cousins love the High Adventure Roller Slides since these are curved and have LED lights to enhance your experience. As someone who accompanied the kids, the area I liked the most was the Mangrove Swing sets. 

The most challenging and adrenaline-inducing part of the park is the Family Terracing Play area where kids aged 5 to 12 years old can explore. The highlight of this zone is the twin metal tube slides located at the terrace slope.  

There’s no entrance fee. 

Admiralty Park Playground proves that you don’t have to spend much to have fun in Singapore. You can visit the playground with your little ones without paying any entrance fees. 

It’s surrounded by nature. 

Since the playground area is surrounded by the forest and the Sungei Cina River, you can feel the cool breeze from the trees every time you roam around the play zone with your kids. 

Your kids can even encounter over 100 species of flora and fauna in the area. 

There are 26 different slides in Admiralty Park Playground. 

There are 26 slides of varying sizes in the Admiralty Park Playground. The smaller ones are located in the Junior Play area while the biggest slides are in the Junior Play and Adventure Play zones. 

The variety of slides doesn’t end with just size. Each slide has its unique shape with some curving along the hillside terrain. 

The best part about these slides is that most of them are available for adults too. My personal favorites are the slides with metal rollers since it’s easier to slide on.   

Things to Do at Admiralty Park Playground 

Admiralty Park Playground’s unique location by the hillside creates opportunities for all kinds of activities including Sand Play, Slides, Flying Fox, and Shades & Seats. Check them all out below. 

Sand Play

Admiralty Park Playground Singapore has a couple of little sandboxes where your kids can dig and shape little sandcastles. Most of these sand play zones have a shaded area where the adults can sit back and relax as they keep watch of the kids. 

If you intend to visit this part of the playground, I recommend bringing your spade and bucket so your children can create their castles. 

Slides

The 26 slides are the highlight of the Admiralty Park Playground. These slides are made possible by the beautiful terrain of the area. 

Some of the slides follow the slope of the hill to create a long and steep structure. I adore the design of each slide in this park since it truly caters to the age group of the children playing in each zone. 

The slides in the Junior Play area tend to be more colorful and smaller than the ones in the Adventure and Family Terracing Play zone. Some of the slides are even made with metal rollers to make your glide down easier.  

Flying Fox 

The flying fox is a hit ride for older kids in the park. This attraction is located at the top of the Admiralty Park playground, acting as a zipline that goes around a small area of the park. 

It has a small seat that spins your kid around an oval line, making it seem like they are flying. 

Some first-time visitors often miss out on this ride because it’s not something that you can easily find. You have to hike up the hill to get to the flying fox, but I guarantee you that it’s worth it.  

Shades & Seats 

If you are a parent or a guardian accompanying your kid to the playground, there are plenty of seats near the shade for you to rest in. These seats are attached to a rectangular table that is perfect for a park picnic. 

What to Bring to Admiralty Park Playground 

To maximize the fun, there are a few things that you need to bring with you to Admiralty Park Playground. 

Sunscreen

The heat can be harsh, especially on your little one’s skin. Make sure to lather them up in sunscreen before you let them play in the park. 

Remember to reapply your sunscreen after every 2 hours, especially if your kid perspires a lot while playing. 

Snacks

It can be hard to find a nearby shop in Admiralty Park Playground. I recommend bringing your snacks like chips, fruits, or other easy-to-pack foods. 

While you are at it, you should also bring bottles of water with you so your kids can rehydrate after playing. If you want to keep your drink cold, make sure to use a thermos bottle. 

First-aid 

The terrain of the playground can be difficult for some kids to get around in. Due to their excitement in playing, your kid might trip or scratch themselves. 

In case of these small accidents, you should bring a first-aid kit with you complete with basics like adhesive bandages, cotton, and disinfectant. 

Extra clothes

Your kid will perspire a lot after playing all day in the park. Be sure to bring extra clothes with you so they can change into fresher attire.  

Tips for Touring Around Admiralty Park Playground 

Make the most out of your trip to admiralty park by following the tips below. 

Always keep an eye out for your kid. 

Admiralty Park Playground is a pretty safe place, but one cannot be too careful. When you visit with your kid, make sure that you keep an eye out for them at all times. 

The playground area is huge so it can be difficult to find your kid once they go on their way to explore the park and rides. You must always have someone overseeing your child to avoid incidents. 

Visit a zone ideal for your child’s age. 

The park is divided into three zones based on a child’s age group. Each of these zones offers amenities that are appropriate for your child, so I recommend checking them out. 

As much as possible, avoid taking your toddlers to the big kid’s area to avoid accidents. As for your older kids, let them play in the Adventure Play or Family Terracing area so they can have a fun and thrilling experience. 

Come by the park at around 4 PM. 

I recommend visiting the park when the sun is almost down. Aside from the fact that it isn’t too humid in the playground during this hour, it would also be safer for your kids since the metal slides are no longer hot from getting exposed to the sun.
