Exceptional and family-like care
“I am grateful to Red Crowns for providing a great option to care for my mother during my absence. I can never thank enough for the exceptional care provided by all members of the home care team. My mother is especially well-cared for by Juu Lay and Wai Wai. They give her the same level of care as they would give to any member of their own family. They help with hygiene and meal preparation, ensure proper and timely medication, and monitor and record her vitals daily. At times when my mother needed medical attention, they took care of her well-being and kept me informed right away. It is vital that they can monitor and keep me updated firsthand in case of any changes in her medical conditions. They even assisted her in obtaining a medical consultation during emergencies. Outdoor activities and exercises are regularly organised by them. Participating in these activities is always a pleasurable experience for the elderly. Through videos and pictures, they regularly update their harmonious bonding time together and every meal provided each day. It is also helpful that Red Crowns offers flexible visitation hours, unlike those in regular elderly homes that have designated hours. This makes it easier for our friends and relatives to visit at a time that suits them. The professional care given by Red Crowns makes my mother’s stay at the residence special, allowing her to age safely and feel like home. Their sincerity in caring for the elderly at the residence is something I truly appreciate. Homely, engaging, and trustworthy environment

“When my father who was the main carer for my mother passed away, it suddenly left us with no pre-arranged care options my 83-year-old dementia mother. I investigated several care options, from interviewing helpers, visiting several elderly day care and care homes, and was desperate to find a viable care option for my mother. Finding Red Crown was a blessing for my mother and my family. Living in a Red Crown feels so much more like living with friends and family, very homely and friendly. The carers – Zar Oo and Naw understand the residents’ personalities very well and know how to engage the residents. They listen to their stories, engaging them in interesting activities such as playing Uno, work on jigsaw puzzles. It is nice that they involve the residents with some easy food preparation so that they feel like they are contributing. The daily morning exercise is also excellent to keep residents physically active. Settling in my mum was not easy as my mum lost her husband of 60 years only 2 months before she moved into Red Crown. Her dementia went drastically worse overnight with my Dad passing. All these changes in life were a lot of for my mum to cope with in a short space of time. The staff and carers have managed her very well, putting in a lot of time and effort to gain her trust and sooth her anxieties. I live overseas but I know my mother is very well taken care of as she is happy as I get daily WhatsApp messages on their meals and activities. I can also watch the CCTV to see what my mother is doing any point in time. Red Crown has an excellent system of providing a very personalised and professional care. Highly recommended.”

The residents we spoke with also loved the roomy fitness centers, fun hobby rooms, and gorgeous gardens, saying it’s perfect for their casual morning strolls.

In addition to the fantastic amenities, we were really impressed by their focus on safety and security. One family shared how the facility keeps things safe with visitor check-ins, mask rules, and limited visitations, making sure everyone stays protected.

While this all sounds fantastic, it’s important to note that such high-level services and a prime location come with a hefty price tag.

“Really want to thank Social Worker Daniel for going the extra mile seeking permission to allow my family to visit our relative during CNY despite us having more than the stipulated number of visitors (2pax). I thought we would be able to bring our relative down to level 1 to meet the rest of the family in the open area or garden if we exceeded the 2pax. Unfortunately Ling Kwang Home is very strict about this, and does not allow it. I suppose it may be because they also have a day care centre at level 1 and they would not want any cross infection happening. Staff are generally polite. Pleasant experience.”

They offer comprehensive healthcare services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, ensuring residents stay active and healthy.

And get this—these healthcare heroes don’t just stop at the fancy therapies. They also handle simple nursing procedures such as wound management and medication administration—all with utmost professionalism.

But Ghim Moh isn’t just about healthcare. Residents get to enjoy a plethora of activities too! This includes mind-stimulating games and exercise programs customized to individual abilities.

In fact, most of the residents we interviewed were particularly fond of karaoke, Wii-Bowling, arcade games, Mah-jong, calligraphy, nostalgia games, and going on outings!

Heads up, though–it’s pretty lively around here! If your loved one is all about peace and quiet, it might be a bit much. But for those who enjoy an active and social environment, it’s perfect!

Social engagement and strengthening care

“Attending the Ghim Moh Senior Care Centre has helped my mum to be more socially engaged. The twice weekly physiotherapy sessions has also helped strengthen her leg muscles and make it easier to lift her up from the wheelchair. The staff who attended to the transport of my mum to & from the centre are polite and the person I communicate with, Adelia, is very responsive and pleasant to talk to. Overall, a good experience with the senior care centre. It will be very helpful to the family if the centre could provide periodic updates on how the elderly person is doing at the centre.”

Orange Valley Care Center is like a healthcare superhero! They’re always on duty with 24/7 nursing, clinical care, and specialized medical care like BiPAP, COPD care, PEG, colostomy, and tracheostomy. 

They’re also experts in Parkinson’s and provide heartwarming palliative care! Their round-the-clock commitment ensures residents get the care they need anytime, offering peace of mind for both you and your family.

This dedicated care contributes to the overall experience of living at Orange Valley, making it feel like being on a permanent vacation! Your loved one gets to relax in spacious rooms and mingle in cozy common areas. 

Beyond just relaxation, we liked how the community supports an active lifestyle. They host a range of events to keep residents engaged, such as arts and crafts sessions, bingo, mahjong, and pet therapy! 

However, one potential drawback might be the cost, which could be higher than other facilities.

Firstly, Ravivarman, the Customer Care Executive, is very professional, prompt, efficient & friendly. He confidently explains how the home operates & answers any questions without hesitation. He also listens to the individual needs of the resident & tries his level best to accomodate the family. Secondly, the nursing team. I have nothing but praise for all of them. They are super patient, resourceful, kindhearted & understanding. They constantly kept me in the loop and were always just a phone call away. Even though my mother was there only for respite care, they truly made her stay very memorable. We are very appreciative for all they did for mum. ”

Despite the facility’s comprehensive services, availability might be limited due to high demand.

Compassionate and dedicated nursing care

“The experience initially was a bad one. I seeked help from the nurses if they can check my aunt’s diaper was soiled. I received a glare from one of them. Even with fans , the place is really hot and stuffy . Along with other unpleasant incidents over here I finally broke down and cried thinking how suffering it is to stay here… The 2nd visit I met nurse WaiNa. I felt assured after i observed how she treated the old folks there attending to them with passion just like they were her own parents. She even bother to explain to me about dementia people and what to expect. WaiNa is really a Gem the reason why this place gets a four star despite of other unpleasants incidents with other staff nurse.. Nurse Tusal is also quite nice and patience. Thank you both of you.”

Exceptional care with compassion and kindness

“All the care team, staff nurse Shi Shi, Nurse manager Joyce and palliative doctors took great care of my father while he was in Peaceheaven. They made sure his last days were spent in comfort and minimum pain. MSW Shue ling at Peacehaven is the most exceptional social worker we have experienced in all these years. The kindness and compassion she showed to my father and my family made a world of difference at such a difficult time. She gave us regular updates and all our requests were accomodated with kind understanding. Although I was overseas, she made sure I was there for my father’s last breath together with my family via videocall. The skype virtual visits at Peacehaven made it possible for me to see my father everyday. Words can’t express our gratitude and thanks to Peacehaven and to their whole team.
