After graduating from the University of South Wales in Australia in 1998, Dr Winston Woon honed his skills Down Under before returning to Singapore in 2010. 

He specializes in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, especially when it comes to the liver and pancreas. His subspecialty is hepatic-pancreatic-biliary and upper gastrointestinal surgery, meaning he can handle complex and delicate abdominal procedures.

Plus, he manages a wide range of conditions (from common to serious). This includes gallstones, hernias, bloating, intestinal bleeding, and abdominal cancers.

Dr Thng Yongxian is a fellow-trained HPB and general surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience.

In terms of cases, he handles appendicitis, hernias, and acute gallbladder infections, as well as more serious ones like liver and pancreatic cysts or cancers.

As for surgery, he’s known for minimally invasive procedures for the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. In fact, he made headlines by introducing capsule colonoscopy to Singapore (you swallow a pill-sized camera that travels through your digestive tract).

What we love about him is that he’s available 24/7 for emergency and trauma surgeries.

On the other hand, we heard that he might not have the warmest bedside manner. Some patients have told us that he could be a bit brisk during consultations.
