Novotel Living Orchard offers a variety of services, but the rooftop pool is what truly sets it apart. From the moment you step onto the top floor, you can feel the difference.

The pool offers panoramic views of the surrounding Orchard area, which immensely adds to the appeal of a refreshing swim or lounging session in the Singapore sun.

The pool area is well-maintained, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness. This allowed us to enjoy the relaxing environment without concerns about hygiene or comfort.

Another thing we want to highlight is the temperature-controlled water. It made our dip pleasant regardless of the weather, which can be a big bonus during warmer days.

For such a wonderful experience, we’re surprised at how affordable the accommodation is. But do note that the pool is not that spacious, which makes the space feel somewhat constrained, especially during peak hours.

Pool ideal for swimming exercises

“I rent one month a two bedrooms apartment. There are goods beds, good bathrooms and plenty of closets. There is room cleaning service 3 times a week. There are good tv appliance. I really like the pool which is long enough to do swimming exercise. There is also a nice gym. The common area is good with free flow of coffee and tea. On the downside there is washing machine for clothes but no dishwasher. The kitchen is not very well furnished to do a lot of cooking( eg no many types of pots ect..) but has a rice machine. The living room might be small for a big family of four. Overall novotel is very nice property and good price.”

One Farrer Hotel’s rooftop pool is a feast for the senses with its sleek design and panoramic views of the Singapore skyline. 

The pool area itself has ambient mood lighting and is temperature-controlled, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing swim.

We particularly like the concierge service by the pool; attendants anticipated our needs, often bringing fresh towels or a cool drink just as the thought crossed our mind.

Such attentiveness added a layer of luxury to our entire experience, which made us feel well taken care of.

However, it’s not all limitless swimming. The pool’s size is impressive, but the area available to guests can feel a bit compact, particularly when parts are sectioned off for safety reasons.

If you dream of sprawling waters and ample room for exploration, this may be a slight disappointment.

The moment we stepped onto the rooftop, we were greeted by the sleek pool with crystal-clear waters that beckoned us for a refreshing swim.

One of the things we noticed was how well-maintained the pool area was— clean and inviting, with staff ensuring the deck was in pristine condition. They made sure we got to relax and unwind in a hygienic and pleasant environment.

However, it’s not all sunshine. While the pool size is adequate for leisure swims, those looking to do serious laps might find it a bit limiting. 

Also, during peak sunny hours, the limited shaded areas can be a tad uncomfortable. You might have to time your dips to avoid the midday heat or hope for a breezy day.

Our visit was seamless from the moment we stepped in, with the staff ensuring our comfort and answering questions with ease.

The pool and its surroundings were impeccably maintained, from the crystal-clear water to the meticulously arranged lounge chairs. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to enhance our enjoyment.

We were even surprised to leave the pool without noticing a single item, not even our tiniest accessories, out of place or damaged, which instilled a sense of trust and security.

While not the most budget-friendly option for a rooftop pool experience, this hotel’s rooftop pricing reflects the premium experience they offer.

However, bear in mind that certain amenities might incur additional charges, which is something to consider when you’re planning a visit.

Spotless rooms, unique design, and infinity pool with impressive views

“This was our first time at Indigo and we stayed for two nights. Loved the design of the rooms (Peranakan style). Despite the colors, it looks classy and not tacky. Cleanliness is 5/5. I always check countertops for dust and bathroom tiles for grime and grout. Nada. Spotless! I appreciate that the toilet and the shower/bathtub areas are separate. Toilet also has a bidet. Wish all hotels did this.

Customer service: 5/5 as the staff were friendly and always greeted us with a genuine smile whenever we walked past reception.

Location: A 10-min walk from the famous Peranakan houses and a shopping mall adjacent. However, it is quite far from any MRT station so you’ll need to take a bus. Finally, the infinity pool is worth checking out. So glad we stayed here instead of Marina Bay Sands because for the same price, there you only get a regular room with no view and no bathtub. At Indigo, you get a bathtub with larger space and breakfast.

Note: walls a slightly thin. Our next door neighbour’s alarm went off at 6AM and we could hear it.”

“Very nice hotel, clean, friendly staff und nice modern style. The infinity pool on the roof is great to relax after or before sightseeing. It’s a bit out of the main sightseeing points but ok. Katong is nice to explore with the little restaurants- feels more authentic and not so touristically. Breakfast was delicious!! What I enjoyed very much were the water gym und cycling classes in the pool. I was lucky enough to find out about the aqua sports class by chance on our first day because I was in the pool at 8am for a swim. What luck! I really enjoyed the classes offered by The Ripple Club! Great start into the day. I was lucky that the classes were offered for free that week. I went there every morning. The courses should be promoted more in the hotel.If I had not discovered it by chance I wouldn’t have known about it. That would have been a shame.”

Nestled 57 floors above ground, this world-renowned architectural marvel stretches longer than the Eiffel Tower laid down. It’s the largest of its kind, making your laps feel like a journey across a floating cityscape.

We think they did such a great job at maintaining the pool; the water was just the right temperature, which provided us with a refreshing dip without the shock of cold.

But this paradise comes with its caveats. The exclusivity of the pool means it’s only accessible to hotel guests, which adds an air of privacy and prestige but can be a letdown for those wishing to visit without booking a stay.

The pool’s popularity also means it can get quite crowded, especially during peak travel seasons.
