This restaurant has multiple branches around Singapore: Riverwalk, Riverside Point, East Coast Seafood Center, Changi Airport, and Dempsey Hill.
In fact, it has the most number of locations on this list, making it one of the most accessible restaurants on the island. Crab served in the Singaporean style is what makes JUMBO Seafood very well-known.
The restaurant has more than 20 years of expertise serving local and international customers. JUMBO’s branch in Changi Airport enables tourists to try it out right when they arrive in Singapore.
Jumbo Seafood listens to its loyal patrons and constantly develops original menu items to suit all palates. The customers we talked to highly recommend the establishment’s award-winning dish, the Chili Crab.
The chili sauce at a seafood restaurant must be what distinguishes the style and flavors of the Chili Crab. JUMBO’s chili sauce is rich, sweet, and mildly hot.
Compared to its other competitors, it has the least amount of spice, making it maybe suitable for most customers, particularly tourists.
Although this restaurant is renowned for its mouthwatering seafood, it also has meat and vegetable dishes like Fried Rice with Diced Chicken, Sambal Kangkong, and cold mango dessert items.
We do want to point out that reservations are necessary because the establishment is usually packed with hungry customers. The average cost here is $50, making it relatively pricey compared to other crab restaurants.
JUMBO Seafood offers outdoor seating, which makes it a cool date-night destination, and it also has a large dining area that is ideal for family gatherings.

Long Beach is located on Dempsey Road and is just a 7-minute stroll from the Aft Peirce Road bus stop. It is open all week long but is unavailable from 3 pm to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays.
It has extended operating hours, making it an ideal option for customers who are usually busy in the morning. Long Beach’s weekend schedule is straightforward from 11 am to 11 pm.
However, its first area on East Coast Parkway is already closed. There are other branches open in Jurong East and Stadium Boulevard.
Singaporeans have long considered Long Beach Seafood Restaurant to be a seafood heaven. It has gained a positive reputation for serving the finest and freshest seafood.
In fact, Long Beach Seafood has won numerous culinary accolades and has been in the headlines for serving political figures and global celebrities.
The Chili Crab and Black Pepper Crab are its most famous dishes. We do want to highlight that its dishes are known to be quite spicy.
The restaurant’s Chili Crab is acknowledged as one of the best in Asia due to its greater level of spiciness. However, the sauce perfectly balances the dish with sweet and savory flavors.
Long Beach Seafood also offers crispy duck, deep-fried crawfish, and golden stripe lobster. For desserts, it has the signature Durian Pudding, as well as the Sweet Yam Paste with Ginkgo Nuts.
The price range is leaning towards the pricier end. The average cost is between $50 to $65 depending on the weight of the crab.
The customers we interviewed thoroughly enjoyed their time here. The service time is quick and the seating is comfortable and not cramped with other tables, which is a common complaint in well-known establishments.
Overall, Long Beach Seafood is a must-try for all crab lovers because of its history and reputation.

- Home of the famous White Pepper Crab

Cons

No Signboard Seafood is found in Geylang, which is just beside the Bef Lor 18 bus stop. It has an extended operating schedule and is open from Monday to Sunday.
Unfortunately, it does not have any other branches open in Singapore. Those who reside outside Boon Keng may have a hard time reaching this place because of the heavy traffic in the area.
No Signboard Seafood’s head chef, Ong Kim Hoi is one of the key reasons why this restaurant received plenty of praise and success. Chef Ong is the pioneer of the establishment’s famous dish, the White Pepper Crab.
Although the peppery flavor is robust, it doesn’t overpower the naturally sweet flavor of the crab meat. This dish’s sauce also pairs well with fried rice and vegetables.
This establishment also prides itself on having Singapore’s spiciest Chili Crab, making it the go-to restaurant for spicy food lovers. Customers have the choice of how hot they want the dish to be.
We love the traditional look of the No Signboard Seafood. It has retained its appearance from its original branch and it makes customers feel like they are in a bygone era.
Having said that, it may not appeal to contemporary diners who enjoy modern-looking interiors. It may not be a good destination for certain events, but it is most definitely a great choice for crab lovers.
No Signboard Seafood also has other dishes that customers love, such as Baby Squid, Drunken Shrimp, and Cereal Prawns. It does not have the most diverse menu, however.
But we do love that the restaurant’s rates are significantly more affordable than our other entries on this list.

Red House Seafood is situated inside the Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel. It is just a 3-minute walk from the Havelock Station Exit 4 bus stop.
This restaurant does not have a second branch on the island, which is quite unfortunate for those living outside the Pulau Saigon area.
If you are looking for a closer establishment that serves excellent crab dishes, check out our other entries on this list.
Since 1976, Red House Seafood has gained a devoted following for its excellent cuisine and communal atmosphere. The dining area is very intact, making social interactions with other guests more accessible.
The establishment’s humble set-up brings out a modest atmosphere where people can be comfortable. However, it may not be ideal for those who prefer gaudy restaurants.
Red House consistently serves the best seafood dishes using the world’s freshest ingredients, including geoduck from Canada, abalone from Australia, and mud crab from Sri Lanka.
When we talked to the establishment’s patrons they considered it one of the top seafood restaurants for gatherings with family or friends, or indulgent date nights.
Take note that reservations are required since the place is usually very packed.
The restaurant’s best seller is the Sweet Chili Crab. This is great for those who are seeking something different from the traditional recipe.
The sweet and salty flavors are very addicting and it naturally pairs well with crab meat and goes well with any preferred starch like white rice. Red House’s unique take on the classic dish is something we highly recommend.
It also has other delicious favorites such as Black Pepper Crabs, Fried Prawns, and Codfish with Teriyaki Sauce.
The price is a bit more affordable, averaging around $40, depending on the size of the crab. While Red House has a wide range of seafood options, it doesn’t have other proteins, unlike other entries on this list.
5. Mellben Seafood

Pros
- Just in front of the Opp Mayflower Secondary School bus stop
- Open all week
- Has a second branch open in Toa Payoh
- Diverse crab dishes
- Unique and bold crab recipe
- Relaxed environment
- Affordable rates
- Wide range of menu options
- Usually not filled with customers
Cons
- Service time is a bit long
- Opens much later in the afternoon
Mellben Seafood is situated along Ang Mo Kio Avenue, which is just in front of the Opp Mayflower Secondary School bus stop. It is open all week with consistent operating hours from 5 pm to 10:30 pm
Sadly, it opens relatively later than its competitors, making lunch trips impossible with this establishment. However, it has a second branch open in Toa Payoh that opens a bit earlier.
From a little seafood vendor on Alexandra Road, Mellben Seafood has grown into a popular restaurant in Singapore.
It has a variety of crab dishes, including Butter Crab, Salted Egg Yolk Crab, Shimmering Sand Crab, Vermicelli Soup, and Chili Crab, which are among the cornerstones of this establishment.
Having said that, Mellben Seafood’s best-selling dish is the Clay Pot Crab Bee Hoon. It’s a dish that is essentially a noodle soup meal, distinguished by a milky broth that is flavorful with chunks of sweet crabs.
The location is not very busy, which makes this restaurant a good place for intimate dining sessions. The prices are also quite affordable, averaging around $35 only.
We also want to highlight that the size of the crabs here is quite larger than in other establishments. Meanwhile, the sauce is very rich, hot, and slightly sweet — it’s a concoction of bold flavors that is truly unique.
Even though Mellben Seafood is usually not filled with guests, we still recommend calling for reservations.
We did notice that service time is relatively longer than its competitors. This is probably because some of its dishes are a bit more complicated to prepare.
Overall, Mellben Seafood’s simple vibe is most definitely a must-try for crab lovers.
