5 Best Adult Art Classes in Singapore That’ll Reignite Your Inner Artist
I’ve always thought of myself as an artsy person, but somewhere between school deadlines and social plans, I kind of lost the plot. The more time passed, the harder it got to even pick up a pencil again.
I convinced myself that if I wasn’t already “good,” it was too late. So instead, I just admired other people’s work, daydreamed about being an artist, and left it at that.
Now that life’s calmed down a bit, I decided to give art another shot. Except… I had no clue where to start.
That’s when I started looking into adult art classes in Singapore. Turns out, there’s way more than just drawing and painting. And no, you don’t need to be a pro.
I found a class that clicked, and I’ve been hooked ever since. So if you’re in that same weird limbo I was in, this list is for you.

The Fort Studios is where adult art dreams get a proper second chance. It’s great for total beginners or those picking things up again; their courses cover everything from pencil drawing to watercolour, acrylic, and oil.
You can join their structured courses, which focus on short exercises and guided artwork, or opt for personalised lessons tailored to your pace and goals.
Instructors like Ayaka, an AMIS-certified educator with a Fine Arts diploma from LASALLE, are often praised for their patience and clarity.
One beginner I spoke with even mentioned finishing a semi-realistic pencil drawing after just a few sessions, mainly because of Miss Ayaka’s tips and tricks.
You’ll be learning in the studio, which is pretty spacious and stocked with all the materials you’ll need, so there’s no need to bring anything along.
Just note that the prices are a bit higher compared to others, but they’re not unreasonable.
Great instructors as well, they are clear in their delivery and are all very patient!
“Very good-paced beginner drawing course. I feel like my drawing ability has increased significantly and has opened me to new ways of looking at an object before attempting to draw it, which helps a lot. Great instructors as well, they are clear in their delivery and are all very patient! I will recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to draw.”

They also have a lot of references to choose from and practice with.
“I attended their group classes, and it was great. The 2.5 flew by, and it was a great way to destress and rekindle a childhood hobby. As a complete beginner, I was a little worried about my skills. But they were incredibly patient and explained all the details really well. They also have a lot of references to choose from and practice with, and are quite flexible with the class arrangements.”

Painting isn’t the only art form out there, even though it’s usually the first thing people think of. At About You Studio, they’re all for showing that creativity can take many shapes, including tufted rugs.
This workshop lets you try rug tufting with a cut-pile machine, and you’ll learn everything from how to load yarn to guiding the tufting gun. All the materials are provided, too, so you can jump right in without prepping anything beforehand.
And who’s going to help you out during this? The experienced staff, of course. I’ve heard from customers that the employees are well-loved due to their constant support and clear instructions.
The pricing’s also pretty reasonable, especially for a full hands-on session that lets you bring home your finished piece.
That said, the place fills up fast due to their popularity, so book early!
Good tunes to work to, and their patience was much appreciated as I was a beginner.
“Thank you, Jason, for all your help in teaching me tufting – I had a great time and was very happy with the result. Your studio is lovely, good tunes to work to, and your patience was much appreciated as I was a beginner. Thank you for your help – I highly recommend this as an activity to do while in Singapore.”

Thorough in explaining the steps and details of tufting.
“Jason was very patient and thorough in explaining the steps and details of tufting. He also emphasised on safety a lot. Prior to this (even before confirming my purchase) he was very kind to inform me what kind of design was suitable for tufting. It was a good 3 & 1/2 hours experience. Recommended for couple/team/family activity.”

Perched on a breezy rooftop, Dirty Hands Only feels like you’re crafting with friends rather than attending a class.
They offer both wheel-throwing and hand-building classes, with flexible options for beginners or those who’ve already dabbled in ceramics. You’ll learn how to shape cylinders, cups, and more, then glaze your own pieces after.
I’ve been told that the classes are kept small, so you’ll get plenty of attention and hands-on help. There’s no need to fight over materials either; there’s enough to go around.
Tiffany, who founded the studio and studied Visual Communications, gets a lot of praise for her patience and ability to encourage every student, no matter their level.
For this kind of service, the rates are quite fair, especially since you walk away with your own handmade pieces.
But just a warning, the rooftop can get pretty warm on hot days, so dress comfortably.
The cosy, breezy, and open environment added to the overall vibe.
“Dirty Hands Only’s pottery and wheel throwing class was a delightful experience. Tiffany’s kind and chatty nature made us feel at ease as she helped us perfect our artwork. The cosy, breezy, and open environment added to the overall vibe. We can’t wait for the glazing session and collect our pieces, and more classes in the future. If you’re seeking a place to nurture your creative spirit and learn from a fun and helpful instructor, Dirty Hands Only is the place to be!”

Tiffany was not only patient but also ensured that everyone had a great time.
“Dirty Hands Only was my first experience with pottery. Her cosy rooftop space made it feel like you were hanging out with a bunch of friends while taking a class. Tiffany was not only patient but also ensured that everyone had a great time. Her lessons have the right balance of guidance and freedom to experiment and have fun. I decided to continue taking lessons with her, and here are some of the pieces I’ve created under her guidance.“

Studio Miu Art feels like an all-you-can-try buffet—but for art!
While other studios tend to stick to one specialty, this one lets you dabble in everything from oil painting and ceramics to Japanese calligraphy and even manga illustration (which, honestly, was what drew me in).
The variety is pretty impressive: you can explore digital art, character design, comic drawing, or keep things more traditional with pastel and watercolour. They’re well-equipped, flexible, and welcoming, with private classes and art parties too.
Classes are open to all levels, and the instructors—many of whom have degrees in Fine Arts—are praised for balancing step-by-step guidance with creative freedom. You’ll also find a wide mix of learners here, which helps foster a friendly kind of setting.
The only downside? It’s a bit pricey, but many say it’s worth it for the variety and quality.
Classes are fun and comfortable, but I’ve also learned a lot!
“I’ve been coming for class when I was a kid and recently came back – classes are fun and comfortable but I’ve also learnt a lot! Would definitely recommend for beginner or artists who want to return to their craft!”

Tiny Rabbit Hole proves that art can be stitched together with yarn, imagination, and a bit of magic.
This affordable yarn studio is best known for its crochet and plushie-making workshops, where you can create everything from beanies to handmade toys.
What makes it extra special is how accessible it is. They’ve even added machine knitting for beginners who might find knitting a little daunting. You don’t need any prior experience—just bring yourself and a little patience.
The founder, Angie, is known for her gentle guidance and is happy to help fix any slip-ups along the way. With a background in Visual Communication, she’s shared her craft with more than 20,000 students and counting.
I also love that the space is filled with curated yarns and plenty of plushies for inspiration. Though the studio is on the smaller side, so it can get a bit cramped during busy hours.
Very talented crochet artist, so proud of such hidden Singaporean talents!
“Very patient and pro crochet masters who are super patient in teaching the right crochet techniques! The workshop is quite long, a few hours, because the founders really ensure you inherit the right crochet techniques! They sell quite a lot of interesting crochet soft toys, bags, mats, etc! Very talented crochet artist, so proud of such hidden Singaporean talents!! Highly recommend to come and try one of their workshops, it really trains your patience 🙂”

They were patient and willing to share their knowledge and tips and tricks.
“Attended a plush making workshop at Tiny Rabbit Hole with Angie and Terrix. Their experience and passion for their craft really shines through. What I really liked was that they were patient and willing to share their knowledge and tips and tricks with us on how to achieve the same results when we try the craft at home. Highly recommended for a fun afternoon out 🙂 Will definitely be back!”
