Top 5 Adult Ballet Classes in Singapore That’ll Make You Dance Your Heart Out in Pointe Shoes
I’ve always had a soft spot for ballet. When I was a kid, I’d twirl around the living room pretending I was in Swan Lake—but my parents had other plans.
They signed me up for swimming, taekwondo, even robotics class…basically anything but ballet. So I did what any repressed ballet fan would do: binge YouTube performances and fangirl over ballerinas from afar.
Now that I’m working and finally earning my own keep, I figured—why not give it a real shot? Adult ballet classes in Singapore aren’t just a thing; they’re thriving.
Whether you’re starting from zero like me or picking it up again after years away, there’s a class out there that’s beginner-friendly, welcoming, and way less intimidating than you expect.
Here are some of the best studios to check out if you’ve ever dreamed of doing a plié with proper form (and not just in your bedroom).

M.A. Ballet centres on the joy and energy of dance, and in sharing it with people of all ages and abilities.
Regardless of the class level, they believe in working with students in a nurturing and supportive environment, while also keeping the spirit of healthy competition in the dance industry.
The class schedules are flexible for adults who are not able to commit to a regular and fixed schedule because of work and other activities. I also love how they offer trial classes for new students!
I thought the work ethic of the instructors is commendable, too. They are able to establish authentic bonds with their students while still maintaining a professional learning environment.
However, the pricing is a bit steep!
Expect well-planned lessons that are challenging yet enjoyable.
“As a returning ballet student, I was looking for a school which offers adult ballet classes and passionate teachers who take adult students seriously. I have since settled at M.A. Ballet and have been attending classes for the past 4 years! Ms Mayu and Ms Milla are two of the best teachers I’ve had, and I’ve had quite a few throughout my dance life. Expect well-planned lessons that are challenging yet enjoyable, plus individualised attention to corrections during class. Studios are bright and spacious with sprung floors. Easily accessible via Orchard MRT and numerous bus services right at the door. The adult ballet community is also very friendly and supportive. Overall, very positive vibes and I cannot recommend M.A. Ballet enough!”

My technique has progressed leaps and bounds, thanks to the conscientious instructors who will provide personalised corrections.
“As an extremely late starter in ballet (started only after age 30, never took a dance lesson in my entire life before that), I had been consistently taking multiple adult ballet classes weekly, but recently found my technique stagnating and my interest in ballet fading since Covid emerged. It’s been only 3 months since I began taking lessons at MA Ballet, but my technique has progressed leaps and bounds, thanks to the conscientious instructors who will provide personalised corrections not once, twice, but repeatedly until you get it right. I highly recommend MA ballet for students who are just starting ballet, both children and adults, in order to get the fundamentals right, as well as teenagers and adults who have been learning for a while, and need corrections to enhance their technique. I have rediscovered my joy for ballet in the last few months, thanks to MA Ballet! 🥰”

Founded by seasoned professionals Qi Huan and Ginny Gan, Ballet Quarter is based on the belief that ballet should be accessible and tailored to every student’s goals.
Both founders are award-winning dancers themselves, and their influence is evident in the school’s structure, teaching style, and culture.
For adults, the range of options is one of Ballet Quarter’s biggest strengths. The Intro to Ballet classes are beginner-friendly, easing students into basic alignment and movement.
As you gain confidence, you can move through the structured levels—from Beginners to Intermediate, and eventually Advanced and Pointe Work. Their adult program takes every dancer seriously, regardless of background.
I’ve also been told about how the studio feels like a community. You’ll notice the students encouraging one another, and instructors make sure to remember your progress.
Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side—but the class packages offer better value as you commit.
The instructors are not only highly skilled and experienced but also very patient, encouraging, and attentive to everyone.
“Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn ballet seriously or just as a hobby. The instructors are not only highly skilled and experienced but also very patient, encouraging, and attentive to everyone. The class structure is well-organised, and they offer levels suitable for both children and adults. Love the experiences here, it’s so enjoyable and very worth it.”

I love that class sizes are also kept relatively small.
“Such a beautiful facility! I’ve taken two classes here so far, and they’ve been awesome. The teachers are super dedicated and will walk up to you and physically correct your alignment if you’re a bit off. I love that class sizes are also kept relatively small. I also love how it’s soooo convenient since it’s in the mall. Looking forward to more classes whenever I’m in this area. ❤️”

J’aime Ballet Academy brings a whole-person approach to ballet that meets students where they are, no matter their age or competency.
With over 18 years of teaching experience, Ms. Jaime Pang uses technical precision with a nurturing style that helps dancers progress physically and emotionally, too.
Students have told me how she uses analogies to explain complex movements and gives feedback that’s direct and empowering.
From day one, her classes are very organised. Sessions are clearly segmented by experience level.
Beginners get a good foundation with attention to posture and strength, while more experienced dancers enjoy progression with Level 2, 2 – 3, and Level 3 classes.
For those with performance dreams, I’m happy to say that JBA offers stage opportunities—a rare and exciting feature for adult students!
While the popularity of the school means classes fill up fast, the strong demand is a testament to the quality of education here.
Her lessons are structured, and I find myself progressing well under Ms Pang’s guidance.
“Ms. Jaime Pang is a very dedicated teacher to all her students. As an adult learner doing multiple classes at her studio, I’ve found myself enjoying every single lesson. Her instructions are crystal clear with the use of good analogies to explain concepts. Additionally, she gives spot-on corrections on posture and technique, which are essential to becoming a better dancer. Her lessons are structured, and I find myself progressing well under Ms Pang’s guidance.”

I love how Ms. Pang explains how our body works, and the exercises that she gives us help a lot to get the right posture.
“My daughter and I have both taken ballet lessons from Ms. Jaime Pang. I didn’t have any experience when I started about 3 years ago. I worried if I could learn ballet at such a late age, but I love how Ms. Pang explains how our body works, and the exercises that she gives us help a lot to get the right posture. I’m really happy that I started ballet with her. My daughter started taking ballet lessons when she was 12, so it was very difficult to find a beginner teen class. Now she also enjoys her class with Ms. Pang.”

Le Grand School of Dance is where students of all levels are guided patiently and supported every step of the way.
Their Flow & Stretch class, often recommended to newcomers, is done at just the right pace, incorporating enough ballet vocabulary to challenge.
They also offer Ballet Fitness classes like Barre, Sculpt, and Fundamentals for those easing into the form through a more contemporary, full-body workout approach.
But it’s the quality of teaching that makes people stay. With over 40 years of international teaching experience, Ms. Ng is known for pushing her students to succeed, personally preparing them for RAD exams and mentoring award-winning dancers.
Beyond technique, the environment here is deeply nurturing. The team makes it a point to be transparent about fees, check in regularly, and build real relationships with students.
But get ready to schedule your slot since classes do fill up quickly.
I approached the front desk, excellent customer service and an engaging conversation.
“I attended the flow and stretch class on Saturday. Before coming to the studio, I asked many questions for several months. Questions regarding age, no dance background, different types of classes, fitness level, etc. The questions come on and off for several months. Each question was replied to with professionalism and a hard sell. Today, I went to the studio. I approached the front desk, excellent customer service and an engaging conversation. Get to speak to the Adult Ballet teacher too, to know. The flow and stretch class is a superly pleasant session. Just the right pace. A lot of ballet movement involvement, which was great since this is a ballet school. I signed up for their class pack immediately and am looking forward to my next flow and stretch class.”

A dedicated team of teachers who teach from the heart and push students to reach their full potential!
“A dedicated team of teachers who teach from the heart and push students to reach their full potential! Transferred from another school previously, and am glad to have found this warm and nurturing environment that has allowed me to grow as a dancer in ways I never imagined I could have. Love that the school genuinely cares about each of their student too!”

Russian Ballet Academy may be best known for its rigorous Vaganova technique, but many are surprised by their welcoming and beginner-friendly adult classes.
The teaching is where this school shines. Instructors like Ms. Meiyi Li and Ms. Kwon Min Gyeong are incredibly meticulous, correcting even the subtlest mistake with lots of patience and dedication.
Students say they’ve never felt lost, even in a mixed-level setting, thanks to the instructors’ constant guidance and structured pacing. And sessions are held once a week, which makes it manageable even with a busy schedule.
The class fees are also quite reasonable, especially considering the calibre of instruction and quality of the space.
Just one thing to note: the adult classes aren’t divided by level, so you’ll be dancing alongside people with varying degrees of experience.
It’s great having a teacher who is able to understand and communicate with all ages, passionate, and able to help each of us learn and enjoy our classes.
“I was a little anxious starting ballet at the age of 32, thinking that the other students would be much younger than me and that I wouldn’t be able to fully understand ballet. But I realised there were students of all ages, some older than me. Many like me (over the past 9 years) have continued with classes at the Russian Ballet Academy until today. Despite my lack of strength and flexibility, our instructor, Meiyi, is still so passionate and patient with me (and all of us). That makes me want to do better each time, and my appreciation for ballet grows, too. I see that she’s also great with children, and their lines are so beautiful. It’s great having a teacher who is able to understand and communicate with all ages, passionate and able to help each of us learn and enjoy our classes.”

The instructor is very patient and always makes sure our postures are correct.
“Attended the Adult Ballet Introductory Course, and I really enjoyed myself. The classroom is clean and bright. Most importantly, the instructor is very patient and always makes sure our postures are correct. Thank you, Russian Ballet Academy, for this great opportunity☺️”
