After seeing multiple people vouch for Bag Spa, I decided to check them out. It’s the only place customers I’ve spoken to trust, especially after trying several well-known services that left their designer bags in worse condition!

The process starts with an honest assessment. Cora, one of the staff members, tells you straight up about what could be done and what wasn’t worth spending on. 

From there, they offer a range of services like bio-cleaning, deep stain removal, full recolouring, leather repair, and even reshaping worn bags. 

The cleaning process usually takes a while, yet most say the affordability justifies it. Not only is the pricing fair, but the results are often described as “like new,” with bags returned in pristine condition, carefully wrapped and reshaped. 

If you think there are more affordable options out there, Bag Spa has got them beat with their ongoing promos! I’m definitely heading here next time.

Coralie cleaned and recoloured the whole bag from inside and outside.

Prestige is known as a boutique-style service with personal and detailed care. I’ve heard that Simon, the guy behind the business, is the reason why so many customers return. 

Even before the actual cleaning, he takes the time to explain what your bag needs and what results to expect. Plus, he replies quickly, which is a big deal when you’re dealing with your luxury bag getting spilled on. 

The service covers deep cleaning, leather touch-ups, colour restoration, and deodorising. They even handle mould issues and faded finishes. 

Prestige specialises in luxury leather too, so they’re used to working with sensitive materials like lambskin, suede, and patent leather. 

For this kind of care, the pricing is reasonable. Simon is upfront about the cost, and you’re not going to be hit with surprise charges.

However, they don’t currently offer delivery services, which many shops these days do.

Margo & Smith is a renowned expert atelier on leather artistry. Started by John Chung, this store offers high-end restoration and cleaning using traditional techniques from Japan and France. 

This includes edge work, mould cleaning, protective coatings, artisanal polishing, and bespoke recolouring. There’s even a private consultation floor where you can literally see artisans working on your bag. 

Given the level of craftsmanship, I’m not surprised so many first-time customers end up becoming loyal regulars. It probably also helps that Margo & Smith goes pretty easy on the fees.

On top of that, clients I’ve spoken to consistently praised the team’s clarity of communication and attention to detail. They’re quick to respond, clear in their assessments, and genuinely respectful of sentimental pieces!

That said, the turnaround time could reach several weeks, so it’s not ideal if you’re in a rush.

The service is impeccable, and the repair service is affordable.

I brought it to the Balenciaga boutique where I bought it from, and they were lousy and mishandled my bag. After a big roundabout and after making a big fuss at their boutique, I lost all hope of repairing my bag.
