5 Best Baking Classes in Singapore That’ll Be the Secret Ingredient to Your Success
I never really considered how pricey pastries had become—until I saw my favourite cookies going for seven bucks each.
Instead of hunting for cheaper takeaways, I thought, why not learn to bake them myself? I’ve always had a sweet tooth, so it seemed like a win-win—save money and satisfy cravings.
Armed with enthusiasm, I dove into YouTube tutorials… only to discover that I lacked both the proper gear and a clear idea of ingredients and their substitutions. My first few attempts were disasters.
Fed up and slightly singed, I decided it was time to do it right and take a proper baking class. Fast forward to me mastering macarons and whipping up pastries I’m genuinely proud of.
If you’d rather skip the kitchen chaos and avoid spending on tools and ingredients you might never use, here are the top baking classes in Singapore that’ll have you baking like a pro.

Commune Kitchen is where baking dreams rise—literally.
Founded by chef Payal Thakurani, this all-women dream team includes culinary pros like Chef Elsie Loh and kitchen lead Senah Nyaru, each bringing global kitchen cred from New York to Italy.
I’ve learned that classes are hands-on, small in size, and full of personality. You’ll get your hands floury with sourdough, brownies, and more—using fresh, halal-friendly ingredients and tips tailored to Singapore’s steamy weather.
The people who’ll lead you are quite charming, very patient, and super responsive (even if your cake isn’t). Recipes are even shared online after class, so you can recreate the magic.
Other patrons have mentioned that their classes are great for total newbies and confident bakers alike. Commune Kitchen also does private sessions for team-building or family bonding.
Thanks to their quality courses, it’s not very surprising that you’ll have to splurge a little.

I’d describe Home Baking Day as a DIY baking playground since there’s not exactly an instructor to guide you. But don’t get me wrong, the setup is anything but chaotic.
Each station comes with a tidy layout, pre-portioned ingredients, and a sleek tablet with step-by-step videos that walk you through every swirl, mix, and bake.
You can choose what to bake, from cakes and cookies to tarts and doughnuts, and go entirely at your own pace.
If you get stuck, the staff are around—always helpful but never hovering. They even provide a drink corner for coffee or tea if you want a break mid-session. And for all that convenience, it doesn’t even cost too much.
Just a heads-up, though: the place is popular, especially on weekends and school holidays, so slots can book up pretty fast.
Tablet instructions are easy to follow, as all the ingredients are clearly labelled.
“Highly recommended to come and experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. Can DIY on your own; tablet instructions are easy to follow, as all the ingredients are clearly labelled. Very suitable for beginners as well. Hassle-free as all the tools are provided and no need to wash after that, as compared to your own house.”

Easy to access, and you know what is in your cake.
“I had so much fun baking, this offers a lot of cakes and sweets. With friendly staff to help you with baking. It is in a great location, and they provide all the tools and ingredients. There are 3 different levels of difficulty. So even if you’re new to baking, you can join in. Max is 2 people unless you have a birthday party. Easy to access, and you know what is in your cake. Afterwards, you get a cute box to put it in. It is an interactive activity to get you off your phone. It is a teamwork-building activity for you and your friends.”

Led by Greg and his cheerful crew, Bear Bakery turns baking into a feel-good experience—whether you’re decorating cakes, rolling Japanese sponge, or piping pastel-perfect macarons.
This family-run studio’s mission is to have the heart of a home kitchen, minus the cleanup, and with a whole lot more frosting.
You’ll start off with pre-measured ingredients, easy-to-follow steps, and instructors who are patient, upbeat, and always happy to tweak the colours of your frosting without batting an eye.
I noticed it’s especially loved by parent-child duos and casual bakers who want a lighthearted, hands-on session and walk out with treats they made.
What’s even better is that you don’t have to burn a hole through your wallet for this one—prices are friendly, which makes returning for more bakes an easy decision.
That said, the class variety is a bit limited compared to bigger studios.
We learned valuable techniques, used high-quality ingredients, and got to take home delicious treats that I was proud to have made myself.
“I had such an amazing time at The Bear Bakery baking class! The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and made the whole experience fun and approachable—even for beginners like me. We learned valuable techniques, used high-quality ingredients, and got to take home delicious treats that I was proud to have made myself. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I left feeling inspired and confident to try baking at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve their baking skills or just enjoy a creative and tasty experience!”

French Cooking Lab is run by Chef Eric, a French engineer-turned-baker who swapped software for sourdough. He trained formally at L’atelier des Chefs and the Éric Kayser School before opening his own studio!
His classes—ranging from crusty baguettes to croissants and kouign-amann—are small, hands-on, and designed for Singapore’s climate.
You’ll get step-by-step tablet instructions, in-person guidance, and a charming post-class débriefer where everyone sits down to enjoy their freshly baked goods.
Students have told me of Eric’s mix of warmth, clarity, and geeky enthusiasm. He’ll explain your choices, proofing hacks, and even how to re-create the magic at home.
Just a heads-up: they’re a bit costly compared to others, but I don’t think you’ll get this much in-depth learning on French bakes anywhere else.
Eric was so hospitable and detailed in explaining the science behind baking.
“I had such a wonderful time baking baguettes here with my mum and siblings. Eric was so hospitable and detailed in explaining the science behind baking the baguettes. The atmosphere of the class was so warm and intimate. I would definitely come back again with my friends!”

Eric was very patient with us and passionate about cooking.
“I took a baguette and croissant class with some friends. We had so much fun throughout the course, and at the end of the session, we could bring delicious bread and share it with family at home. I was impressed by how inviting and cosy Eric’s cooking studio was and how easy and straightforward his recipes were. Eric was very patient with us and passionate about cooking. I highly recommend Eric’s class to not only people who are looking for a French bakery course but also anyone who is looking for a fun activity with friends and colleagues and wishes to have quality time.”

Born out of the established Kenko Wellness brand, this academy has been training people in all things wellness and food since 2007.
Their classes aren’t your usual weekend fluff. I’m talking multi-day intensives covering cakes, cookies, tarts, muffins, and pastries, with clear structure and lots of hands-on time.
Lessons begin with a live demo, then it’s apron on, hands-in, and full DIY from batter to bake. You’ll even be doing your own cleanup, so make sure to pace yourself properly!
Chefs like Lance and Vincent are surprisingly down-to-earth, guiding you through everything from how to fold a tart base to what flour works best in Singapore’s climate.
When I checked out their space, I saw that the kitchen is filled with demo screens—so even if you’re at the back, you won’t miss a step.
But be warned: the best classes tend to book out early, so don’t wait around.
The kitchen is well-equipped and conducive for us to work in.
“The course scope was very well-planned, and I believe all participants did have a great learning experience during the 4-day lessons. The kitchen is well-equipped and conducive for us to work in. Must compliment our instructor, Chef Lance, for sharing his experience and being extremely accommodating towards all students. I’ve attended quite a number of culinary courses previously, but I must say that this is the best learning experience acquired so far, and I strongly recommend those who want to learn how to bake, especially for first-timers! Thank you very much, Chef Lance!”
