When I visited, I got to observe resprays in progress. The lines were sharp, coats even, and overspray almost non-existent. They have a focused team handling this, with each person assigned to a specific part of the process. 

Many customers I’ve spoken to appreciated how the shop also offers aftercare support, including free minor corrections within a set window. 

As for pricing, it’s got clear breakdowns by paint type and finish, making it easier to understand what you’re paying for.

That said, a few customers mentioned minor miscommunication in scheduling.

Established in 1974, Ngai Hong is well-known among regulars who come in for everything from full resprays to classic car restorations. Their business is rooted in experience and continuity since they’re now being run by the third generation.

Something I noticed was how their workflow is structured and steady. Cars are stripped and masked carefully, and each coat is applied with precision, especially around bumpers and curved panels where lesser shops sometimes leave uneven layers. 

For those just needing panel jobs or clear coat upgrades, their rates stay competitive, even just for regular spray work. They also give maintenance tips post-service and encourage customers to come back for minor corrections if needed.

The staff even let me know which paints were recommended to use, such as Glasurit paints. Apparently, these are great against Singapore’s humidity and heat.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to book in advance since they can get quite busy.

T7 Spray Painting is a younger name compared to others on this list, but their workshop in Ubi is surprisingly well-equipped. 

Led by a small team with panel-beating experience, they’re especially popular among owners doing full-body restorations. They mentioned that many of the shop’s customers also come in for complete color changes, often opting for bolder tones. 

To support that, they mainly use paints known for vibrant color payoff and a smooth, even finish, including brands like Standox and PPG.

Tz even offers a good range of finishes and takes the time to walk customers through color swatches and layering options. 

That attention to detail extends to how they price their work—quotes come with clear breakdowns for labor, paint type, and optional upgrades. 

Still, it’s best to confirm pricing in person. One customer noted that the quote they received over the phone changed slightly once they arrived at the shop.

Operating out of Defu Lane, Wei Lei has had a steady customer base since 2017. The shop is headed by Ah Wei, who has a background in automotive detailing and full spray work. 

They’re popular for their relatively cheaper prices without cutting corners. They also have packages available depending on the paint type and finish level.

The painters take their time with prep—wet sanding, rust correction, and tight masking are standard before any color goes on. I noticed a few finished cars with clean lines and consistent sheen, even under harsh light. 

Looking around, they seem to mostly use Axalta and DuPont paint systems, which are prized for their color accuracy and durability.

Although some have noted that the staff can come off with a bit of attitude at first, most customers told me that they’re friendly and accommodating once the work gets going.

All interior and exterior work is done properly.

Phua Spray Painting is run by Mr. Phua himself, who still oversees most of the prep and finishing work. This workshop has been a quiet mainstay in the Ang Mo Kio area.

Their strength lies in panel repair and single-panel sprays. I saw several cars mid-process, and the attention to feathering and surface leveling was clear.

A big part of that comes down to their choice of paint. They mainly use Kansai and Nippon automotive paints—reliable brands for everyday vehicles, especially if you’re after a clean, factory-style finish.

After the job’s done, they don’t just hand you the keys and send you off. The staff usually runs through basic upkeep advice, like when to polish or wash to keep the finish looking fresh.

For their level of workmanship, they could get expensive, especially for full-body work. But a lot of regulars seem to feel it’s worth the detail they put into smaller touch-ups and partial resprays.
