Pawsitive Furkids Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore registered dog training academy. Founded by lifelong dog devotees, accredited trainers Patrick Koh and Veronica Tan provide various services that are highly sought after.

“Joseph has been a great help in teaching us how to understand Goji, our golden retriever puppy, better. It has been a delight watching him ‘communicate’ with Goji and train her. He is very patient and dedicated to teaching us how to communicate with her too and understand her better — he always arrives early for class and ends class much later than than the stipulated timing of 1h long as Joseph shares with us his tips and gives practical advice for Goji, which makes us feel that Joseph is really dedicated to his craft. We have previously attended another puppy kindergarten class (6 sessions, same as with Joseph) but find that results are not as good as with Joseph as the trainers are unable to give practical advice that works on our easily-distractible puppy with a short attention span. As Joseph said, he doesn’t train the dogs as much as he trains the owners on how to understand and communicate with the dog better. Clara Jamie Koh and her team take a no-force, no-fear approach. No leash yanking or dominance tactics—just structured training designed to make sense for both dogs and humans. 

They cover training like puppy basics to behavior corrections, including solid programs for dogs who struggle with being left alone.

Clients I spoke to mentioned that their team is patient, explains things clearly, and ensures owners know what to do long after the sessions have ended. 

The school is in high demand, so booking a slot—especially for one-on-one—can take time. Some also found the prices a bit steep compared to more traditional trainers.

Dropping your dog off at daycare for the first time might feel like leaving a kid at school—would they settle in right? At Snuggary Katong, those nerves don’t last long. 

They take their time introducing new dogs, making sure they’re comfortable instead of just tossing them into a playgroup and hoping for the best. 

They run structured activities throughout the day, so it’s not just dogs running wild until they pass out. Puppies get their first taste of socialization, while older dogs work on recall and desensitization. 

And if your dog loves water, they even organize monthly swim sessions!

The boarding process is strict—you’ll need to go through a trial session and some paperwork before your dog is fully accepted. Some appreciate the extra screening, but some customers feel like it’s overkill. 

It’s also not the cheapest daycare around, so you might find other options that fit your budget better.

Top Dogs Academy has earned a strong reputation among pet owners looking for more than just a place for their dogs to burn off energy. 

This is seen through their trainers as they take the time to understand each dog’s needs, tailoring activities to reinforce positive behaviors. 

One of the ways they do this is by working in different environments, from enclosed parks to outdoor spaces. This helps dogs to avoid associating commands in one setting and then forgetting them everywhere else. 

Their day consists of other tasks such as socialization before moving onto activities like impulse control, recall, and desensitization. We like that swimming lessons are also a part of the program here!

To keep owners involved, the academy sends daily updates with photos and videos, and it’s always nice to get reassurance. 

However, you have to take note that their services are on the pricier side.

Training a dog often feels like training yourself—patience, consistency, and knowing what you’re doing makes all the difference. Ayden Ong, a certified professional trainer, focuses just as much on teaching owners as he does on training dogs.

The results should speak for themselves. Dogs that used to ignore commands start waiting calmly at crosswalks, and owners who once felt clueless get more confident handling their dogs. 

That said, his approach requires wonders to stay consistent outside of their sessions—if you’re looking for a quick fix, this isn’t it. I spoke to past customers and they bring up the tricky scheduling process since he books up fast, so it might take a while to get a spot.
