Top 10 Amusement Parks in Singapore That’ll Make You Queue Up Twice
I’ve always been an adrenaline junkie. I guess it’s in my blood, considering every other member of my family shares the same love for amusement parks. Something about them reliving their childhood dreams and dragging me along for the ride, literally!
As I grew older, my parents eventually moved on from that phase, but I was still keen to go whenever friends were up for a fun day out. I ended up memorising the ins and outs of quite a few parks, particularly what I loved most about each one.
My friends found this quirky talent of mine hilarious and jokingly suggested I write an article about it. So, here I am, sharing my personal picks for the top amusement parks in Singapore.
1. Universal Studios Singapore

Website: https://www.rwsentosa.com/en/play/universal-studios-singapore?
Address: 8 Sentosa Gateway
Phone: +65 6577 8888
Hours: Daily – 10 AM to 8 PM
Located on Sentosa Island, Universal Studios Singapore is where you can dive straight into the action of your favourite films, with rides and attractions that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the middle of it all.
Take Transformers: The Ride, for instance. We were battling alongside Optimus Prime and the Autobots in 3D! I thought the effects were insane.
If roller coasters are your thing, Battlestar Galactica is an obvious ride. One of the tallest coasters in Universal, it takes you on a wild ride through Sci-Fi City, with enough twists and turns to have your heart racing the whole time.
There’s even a whole zone dedicated to the iconic little yellow guys. Minion Land has rides, shows, and meet-and-greets; I remember my mom going absolutely crazy with the picture-taking.
Pro Tip: Visit on a weekday morning to avoid long lines, like Tuesdays and Wednesdays. |
2. Adventure Cove Waterpark

Address: 14 Sentosa Gateway, Sentosa Island

Hours: Daily – 10 AM to 5 PM
Adventure Cove Waterpark is Singapore’s premier water theme park, and it’s right at Resorts World Sentosa, so you know it’s going to be a good time. Whether you’re looking for thrilling rides or a more relaxed way to cool off, this place has it all.
Personally, one of the big highlights is Southeast Asia’s first Hydro-Magnetic Coaster. This high-speed water slide gave me the thrill of a roller coaster, but I was just completely soaked.
After tiring ourselves out, the Lazy River was a great next stop; we were just floating and unwinding as we drifted along the winding path, surrounded by tropical scenery.
For those feeling a bit more adventurous, you can take up snorkelling with 20,000 fish, and you’ll get up close and personal with marine life.
Pro Tip: Bring your own waterproof pouch and aqua shoes since rentals can be pricey. |
3. Wild Wild Wet

Hours:
- Monday, Saturday, and Sunday – 11 AM to 6 PM
- Tuesday – Closed
- Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – 12 PM to 6 PM
Known as one of the country’s largest water theme parks, Wild Wild Wet has what you need for a fun-filled day out.
This park is popular for its variety of attractions. Whether you’re speeding down the high-speed slides or just chilling in the wave pool, you’ll find yourself fully immersed in the excitement of the park.
And if you’re with the little ones, the children’s play areas are perfect for them to run wild and have a blast in a safe, interactive environment.
Another cool thing I found about Wild Wild Wet is their limited-time promos like Mermaid Tales, where you can meet a mermaid and watch her perform some elegant underwater moves!
Pro Tip: Rent lockers early in the day; the small ones go fast. |
4. Mega Adventure Park

Website: https://www.sg.megaadventure.com/
Address: 10A Siloso Beach Walk
Hours: Daily – 11 AM to 6:30 PM
Mega Adventure Park, also located on Sentosa Island, is a thrill-seeker’s dream come true.
The founder grew up climbing trees and travelling across all seven continents, so the park brings his childhood passion to life with some seriously exciting adventures.
The main attraction here is the zip lines, and I wasn’t disappointed. MegaZip is the star of the show—a heart-racing, steep zip line that takes you soaring over Siloso Beach. I remember feeling the wind rush through my hair as I zipped down at high speed!
If you’re looking for something more hands-on, MegaClimb and MegaJump are a total blast. You can challenge yourself with the climbing course, which has three levels of difficulty—each one pushing you a little further.
Once you’ve made it to the top, the 15-meter jump feels like you’re flying, and my friends couldn’t stop talking about how the adrenaline rush is unreal.
Pro Tip: Book online to get discounts and to skip the walk-in queue! |
5. River Wonders

Website: https://www.mandai.com/en/river-wonders.html
Address: 80 Mandai Lake Road
Hours: Daily – 10 AM to 7 PM
Being the first and only Asian river-themed wildlife park, River Wonders is definitely meant for animal lovers and adventure seekers.
They are home to one of the world’s largest collections of freshwater vertebrates, so they focus on showcasing the diversity and beauty of river ecosystems from around the globe.
My family and I loved visiting the different zones, like the Amazon Flooded Forest, where you can see everything from manatees and piranhas to giant river otters.
It’s like stepping into the heart of the Amazon, and the animals are incredible to watch in their natural habitats.
If you’ve always wanted to meet the famous Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the Giant Panda Forest is where you’ll find them. These adorable pandas show off their munching ways, and it’s a real treat to watch them up close.
Pro Tip: Check the day’s feeding schedule online or at the entrance to watch the manatee and panda feeding! |
6. Night Safari

Website: https://www.mandai.com/en/night-safari.html
Address: 80 Mandai Lake Road
Hours: Daily – 6:30 PM to 12 AM
I’ve always described Night Safari as stepping into a whole new world after dark. This nocturnal wildlife park offers a unique experience where you can meet over 900 nocturnal creatures, all while exploring the park at night.
One of the best ways to see the animals is on the Safari Adventure Tram. The tram ride takes you through the park’s different areas, where you’ll encounter a variety of creatures in their natural, nighttime routines.
There are four walking trails you can explore, each giving you something different. First up, the East Lodge Trail is all about the animals of Africa and Asia’s savannah.
The Leopard Trail, on the other hand, lets you watch leopards, lions, and porcupines as they go about their nightly activities.
Next is the Pangolin Trail, which is home to the Sunda Pangolin and small-clawed otters, while the Tasmanian Devil Trail showcases wildlife from Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea.
Pro Tip: Sit on the right side of the tram for closer views of most enclosures. |
7. Singapore Oceanarium

Website: https://www.singaporeoceanarium.com/en.html?
Address: 24 Sentosa Gateway, Sentosa Island
Hours: Daily – 10 AM to 7 PM
Singapore Oceanarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world, with around 100,000 aquatic creatures from major oceans and seas. This is where exotic fish, majestic sharks, and rare species all coexist in a massive, stunning space.
The aquarium features eight zones, each with an amazing view of marine life. Shipwrecked is one of the more interesting areas for me; it’s where I learned how sunken ships become artificial reefs, creating beautiful homes for underwater creatures.
In the Apex Predators of the Sea zone, you can get up close to over 100 predators, including 12 species of sharks. I freaked out when an armoured diver fed them right before my eyes.
Pro Tip: Book the VIP guided tour if you want behind-the-scenes access. |
8. Haw Par Villa

Website: https://www.hawparvilla.sg/
Address: 262 Pasir Panjang Road
Phone: +65 6773 0103
Hours: Daily – 9 AM to 8 PM
Built in 1937, Haw Par Villa is a large outdoor art gallery, and it’s unlike anything you’ll find in the city. The park was created to display a quirky yet enlightening journey through Asian culture, history, philosophy, and religion.
They have what’s called Hell’s Museum, which is the world’s first museum dedicated to exploring death and the afterlife from the perspectives of various religions and philosophies.
I was deeply enthralled by the various exhibits since they explored themes like karma and samsara. I got the chance to check out their Rebirthing Experience, where you lie inside a coffin, which is said to shed bad luck and bring good fortune.
Wandering through the park, you’ll even come across mythological statues and depictions of religious teachings. They all tell a story and offer insight into different beliefs.
Pro Tip: Photography is allowed, but keep a few dollars on hand. Some themed areas have small fees for taking pictures. |
9. Science Centre Singapore

Website: http://www.science.edu.sg/
Address: 15 Science Centre Road
Phone: +65 6425 2500
Hours:
- Monday – Closed
- Tuesday to Sunday – 10 AM to 5 PM
Everything inside the Science Centre looks so high-tech and futuristic, with interactive exhibits and immersive experiences that make learning fun and engaging.
When we visited, my friends opted for the Snow City attraction, Singapore’s only permanent indoor sub-zero snow centre.
We took advantage of the Arctic snow slide and husky rides; it’s like getting a taste of winter, which is definitely a much-needed experience in Singapore’s tropical heat.
For something a little more mind-blowing, I suggest heading to the Omni-Theatre, where you can travel to remote corners of the world, all from the comfort of a seat in their IMAX theatre.
The Science Centre also has free science shows and stargazing, perfect for a little hands-on learning. There’s even a Fire Tornado Show, where flames spin into a towering vortex!
Pro Tip: Get the combo ticket if you’re planning to visit the Omni-Theatre or Snow City on the same day. |
10. Skyline Luge Sentosa

Website: https://sentosa.skylineluge.com/?
Address: 45 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa
Phone: +65 6274 0472
Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday – 10 AM to 7:30 PM
- Friday and Saturday – 10 AM to 9 PM
Invented in 1985 in New Zealand, the Skyline Luge quickly became a local icon, and today, it’s a must-do experience for visitors of all ages.
At Skyline Luge Singapore, I had the chance to race downhill on one of their four purpose-built tracks, each offering hairpin corners, exhilarating tunnels, and slopes that wind through a tropical rainforest.
Whether you’re enjoying the ride in the daytime or taking on the excitement of the Night Luge, you’ll feel the rush as you control the speed and direction with the braking and steering system.
When I was exhausted, I decided to hop on the Skyride. It was this scenic lift that took me above the lush rainforest, and I had a magnificent bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s city skyline.
Pro Tip: Choose the 3-ride combo. It’s a better value and lets you try different tracks without rushing. |
