The Bone & Joint Center is situated inside Mount Elizabeth Hospital. It is only a 5-minute walk from the Lucky Plaza bus stop.

It has standard operating hours but does not have a second branch around the island. If you live far from the Orchard area, you may have problems reaching the place because of the heavy traffic.

This clinic is led by Dr. Kevin Koo Oon Thien, who has over 15 years of experience. He is knowledgeable in musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Kevin provides sound medical solutions for a wide range of orthopedic issues, like bunions due to wear and tear.

Having said that, we highly recommend him. Additionally, he was the former director of the Foot and Ankle Service at Singapore General Hospital.

Whether you are suffering from sports-related injuries or need surgery for bunions, The Bone & Joint Centre’s specialists have the expertise and tools for an individualized therapy program.

If you’re not yet convinced, Dr. Kevin has been recognized and awarded by a myriad of medical organizations in and outside the country!

You are guaranteed to receive expert orthopedic services if you are an athlete or sports enthusiast who has recently suffered from impact injuries or subsequent ailments like bunions.

However, this clinic’s rates are in the more expensive range. If budget is a priority, we suggest checking our other entries on this list.

Moreover, it has a relatively smaller team compared to its competitors. You may face problems making appointments for immediate concerns.

It also has branches in Farrer Park and Royal Square, which makes it quite accessible for most people in Singapore. However, it is unavailable between 1 pm to 2 pm on weekdays.

What we like most about this clinic is that it doesn’t just deliver exceptional orthopedic treatments. It also ensures that its solutions are sustainable by providing holistic therapy programs to its patients.

In fact, clients get consistent quality from the start of their assessments to the final stages of the program. Individuals are given detailed and comprehensive medical care.

If you are looking for invasive bunion services, this medical establishment specializes in standard orthopedic and also intricate keyhole surgeries.

Ardmore Orthopedic is led by Dr. Sean Ng, who is the clinic’s head surgeon. He is a foot and ankle specialist with over 10 years of experience.

In our opinion, this medical establishment’s best asset is its screening services. If your GP needs MRI or x-ray results to get a better understanding of your bunion problems, this place can most definitely deliver.

Having said that, as a premium clinic, its rates are more expensive. Be that as it may, unlike our other entries, Ardmore Orthopedic is quite easy to reach either via calling in or through WhatsApp.

If you are looking for a place that not only can deliver professional bunion surgeries, but also provide a good rehabilitation program after, this medical establishment might be your best bet.

Having said that, if you are an athlete who is suffering from bunions, we believe it’s worth the long trip.

This clinic’s lead orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Alan Cheung, is one of the leading orthopedic specialists in Singapore. He and his staff are noted to act promptly while being friendly during consultations.

As an athlete himself, Dr. Alan is familiar with most sports-related injuries and can provide patients with a prompt diagnosis. If surgery is required, he is more than capable of removing your bunion.

Pros

  • Just beside the East Hospital bus stop
  • Standard business schedule
  • Has another branch located in Novena
  • Highly experienced orthopedic surgeon
  • Can handle severe bunion conditions
  • Able to work on young or old clients
  • Accepts insurance

Cons

  • Relatively expensive services

Specialist Orthopaedic Centre Parkway is found inside the Parkway East Medical Centre and is just beside the East Hospital bus stop.

It has a standard business schedule and has another branch located in Novena, making it more accessible than its competitors.

This medical establishment is well-known because of its lead orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kannan Kaliyaperumal, who has his thumbprint in other orthopedic organizations around Singapore.

That being said, Dr. Kannan’s expertise and experience are one of the best on the island. Unlike most orthopedic specialists, he is able to work with any individual whether young or old.

This is something worth considering since bunions are not the same for everyone. In most cases, older patients who have been enduring their condition will need more work to be done from surgery to rehabilitation.

If you are much older and have been living longer with your bunion, we highly recommend Dr. Kannan. He can assess and recommend the best approach for your condition.

Having said that, it has various options depending on the severity of your bunion. For serious concerns, a distal osteotomy is recommended, and then bunionectomy or other non-invasive treatments for milder ones.

We believe the Specialist Orthopaedic Centre is still a good option even if you are working with a tight budget.

While this medical establishment’s rates can be quite expensive, it accepts various health insurance. This helps keep some costs down for most services.

Pros

  • Just beside the S’pore Botanic Gardens bus stop
  • Has a large team of experienced experts with international experience
  • Exceptional medical care from screening to operation
  • In-house comprehensive screening theaters
  • Ideal for severe cases
  • Offers a holistic rehabilitation program

Cons

  • Does not have a second branch
  • Expensive rates
  • Not ideal for immediate cases

Singapore Sports and Orthopedic Clinic is located in Gleneagles Hospital and is just beside the S’pore Botanic Gardens bus stop.

It has standard operating hours, but sadly, it does not have a second branch.

However, it houses a large team of experienced orthopedic specialists who have international experience.

For bunion surgeries, clients have noted that this medical establishment provided them  with a thorough service from screening and operation to post-op care.

The specialists here offer more than physical rehabilitation care. It also provides some nutrition guidelines that help aid recovery and strength.

Having said that, this clinic’s rates are one of the most expensive on this list. Most clients found it frustrating that the consultation fees are not standardized and depend on the doctor you are working with.

But don’t get discouraged because this clinic’s screening and testing are world-class. This is particularly more helpful for older patients who may have a more severe case.

In this case, you may need to have a couple of tests to find out which treatment is the best one for you.

Furthermore, the testing theaters are inside the clinic, unlike other establishments, which means you can get information right after your doctor’s consultation.

This alleviates the stress of going back and forth, which could aggravate severe cases of bunions.

Being an all-in-one provider has its downsides though. It has plenty of patients who are dealing with other orthopedic injuries and ailments, which makes booking treatments a bit difficult.

If you need immediate medical attention, we recommend checking our other entries on this list.
