- Tips to Enjoy Jurassic Mile Singapore
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been fond of dinosaurs, and seeing these giant, majestic creatures has always been one of my dreams. Even as an adult, the idea of Jurassic Park still excites me to no end.
With Changi Airport’s Jurassic Mile, I was able to fulfill my dream of experiencing a real-life Jurassic Park minus the dangers we usually see in the movies. This attraction features a 1-km-long pathway full of life-sized dinosaur statues.
Read the details below to see what you can expect on your park visit along with key information regarding the fees, travel directions, location, where to eat, and what rules to keep in mind during your tour of Jurassic Mile.
Jurassic Mile Walkthrough: What to Expect and Find Around the Park
The Jurassic Mile is part of Changi Airport’s connector route leading to East Coast Park. Although it’s called Jurassic Mile, the actual pathway is only 1 km long, which makes it easier to explore for both kids and adults.
You can observe the dinosaur models and other park displays on either side of the pathway. To avoid the long walk, you can even ride a bike around Jurassic Mile.
At the starting point of the park, you will see a map that details where you are and what dinosaurs you will see along your path. It’s a helpful feature that makes it easier to identify the name of the dinosaurs.
Along the park, you will see dinosaur models posed differently to replicate a realistic image that will send shivers down your spine. My favorite part of the display is the giant Tyrannosaurus Rex destroying the metal fence to get to the park visitors.
The fences surrounding the walkway act as protection from stray balls since the area is located near the golf course. You will even see three mischievous velociraptors tearing down a golf cart!
There are at least 20 different dinosaurs around the display area. You will find the names of each dino on the pathway map located at the entrance of Jurassic Mile Park or at the panels displayed right in front of the enclosures.
Location of Changi Jurassic Mile
The Jurassic Mile is located on Airport Blvd., Singapore right inside the Changi Airport. It is part of the 3.5-km-long connector from Changi to the East Coast Park.
The Jurassic display itself is situated along the edges of Changi Golf Club and thus, you will see the dinosaur statues posed near the water holes and trees by the courses. As part of the airport connector, the display is also open 24/7.
Things to Do in Changi Jurassic Mile
Jurassic Mile offers plenty of activities that you can do around the park to enjoy your visit. Some of the activities include checking out the dinos, cycling, taking pictures, and eating at nearby cafes.
1. Marvel at the sight of the dinosaurs.
Kids and adults alike will have plenty of fun seeing the life-sized displays of over 20 different dinosaurs ranging from the classic T-Rex down to the popular velociraptors. The biggest dinosaur in the park is the 3.5 meters tall diplodocus.
The dinosaurs are arranged to replicate real life and so you will see a couple of the displays destroying the fence, chewing on an abandoned golf cart, fighting each other, and rearing for the young.
Some of the dinosaur statues in this attraction have already been featured in the Changi Festive Village 2020. The displays were now repurposed as a permanent installation in the Jurassic Mile.
For a more educational experience, you can check out the handy panels displayed right in front of the dinosaur installations. Through these panels, you will discover more about the dinosaurs, what their life was like, their diets, and some fun facts to think about.
To make the experience even more remarkable and realistic, the park even installed a couple of speakers around the area to play a safari-themed song.
2. Cycle around the display.
1km is a long stretch, especially if you have a kid with you who can easily get tired. The perfect way to still have fun while enjoying the view of the dinosaurs is through cycling.
There are a couple of rentals available near Changi Airport. One particular rental is known as the SG Bike, which allows you to use some of the bicycles around the general area of the airport.
You can find SG Bikes in any bicycle parking zone with racks within the airport vicinity. All you have to do is to download the SG Bike app and unlock the bicycle of your choice to start riding.
After you conclude your trip, you can pay for your bike rental by following the steps below:
- Park your rental bike in the bicycle parking area.
- Push the bike lever down to manually lock the SG bike.
- Once you hear the click of the lock, log in to your SG Bike app and tap the ‘end trip’ button.
- Scan the QR code posted near the bicycle parking area to pay your due.
SG Bike usually charges $1 for the first 30 minutes of your trip and an additional $0.03 per minute thereafter.
Another bicycle rental you can opt for is GoCycling by Hub & Spoke Cafe. Kids can rent a bicycle for $6/hour while rental rates for adults cost $8/hour.
If you have a bicycle of your own, you can also use it to explore the 1-km display area. We can also recommend bringing a scooter, skateboard, or rollerblades if you are looking for wheels that are easier to carry than a bike.
3. Take a couple of pictures of the dinosaurs.
The Jurassic Mile is one of the most iconic places to visit in Changi Airport. It is only right for you to take some photos while in there just for memory’s sake.
Some of the displays in the installation are even arranged perfectly so you can create a fun shot with the dinosaurs. Although most of the dinosaurs are situated beyond the enclosure, there are some that you can touch and take photos with – like the dino egg.
The different poses of the dinosaurs can give you plenty of opportunities to get a unique shot for your Instagram or TikTok.
Eat at nearby cafes and restaurants.
There are plenty of amazing cafes and restaurants located near the Jurassic Mile. The closest one is the Hub & Spoke cafe, which offers all kinds of coffee-based drinks, teas, pastries, sweets, pasta, and rice meals.
This cafe is made of glass walls and has a huge spot for outdoor dining. Since it is located near the Jurassic Mile, it offers an unrivaled view of the Changi connector area and golf course.
When is the best time to visit Changi Jurassic Mile?
The best time to visit Changi Jurassic Mile is at night between 6 PM to 9 PM when the displays are lit up beautifully. Additionally, there are fewer people around during this time.
While the view in the mourning is just as beautiful as it is at night, you wouldn’t have to worry about the sun blaring down on you once it is sundown. Moreover, the installations look far more realistic at night than they do by day.
The display operates 24 hours straight so you can drop by to visit at your most convenient time.

The cuisine in Hub & Spoke mainly comprises continental and Western dishes. I particularly liked the selection of drinks in this cafe since it offers everything from strong-tasting espresso to a mildly sweet frappuccino.
The part I enjoyed the most is the alfresco dining experience since it allowed me to catch a view of the Jurassic Mile while eating. The food is also priced fairly so I can highly recommend visiting this cafe as part of your itinerary.
The Lobby Lounge

It is the best place for those who have a taste for fine dining. The incredible champagne and wine selection is enough to ensure satisfaction for alcoholic drink connoisseurs out there.
As someone with a sweet tooth, I also enjoyed the a la carte patisserie menu of The Lobby Lounge. The cakes looked amazing and the premium quality of the ingredients is greatly reflected in the taste of each pastry.
PX Hainanese Chicken Rice

Aside from the chicken, you can also sample some of its other dishes. Most of its menu is based on classic Singaporean and Chinese cuisine.
The best part is that the food doesn’t cost much. You can buy a complete meal for as low as $15 and enjoy your food anywhere within the airport.

London Fat Duck | Level 2M, Public Area, 10 Airport Blvd., Singapore Changi Airport, Terminal 4, Singapore 819665 | 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM | +6568449294 |
London Fat Duck is a Michelin-star restaurant by the celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal. This wonderful place serves all kinds of innovative Singaporean and Chinese dishes.
What’s great about it is that it is affordable despite the Michelin-star awarded to it. I highly recommend trying out the dish called Signature London Roast Duck, which costs $78 for a whole piece.
Things to Bring to Jurassic Mile
To make the most out of your trip in the Jurassic Mile, I recommend bringing your own bike, roller skates, skateboard, or scooter. This will save you a couple of dollars from the exorbitant bike rental fees and would ensure that you can ride for as long as you want.
If you are visiting the park in the morning or afternoon, I suggest bringing sunscreen and sunglasses with you. There aren’t a lot of trees to take shade in, so be sure to keep your skin protected from the harsh rays of the sun.
Finally, a bottle of water would be nice to have especially since Jurassic Mile involves a lot of walking or pedaling. You can refill your water at the stations near the bike parks.
Tips to Enjoy Jurassic Mile Singapore
While it is easy enough to enjoy a park where all you have to do is walk or pedal, there are still a couple of precautions that you need to keep in mind to maximize your enjoyment in Jurassic Mile.
Here are some unspoken park rules:
- Don’t go beyond the fences where the dinosaur displays are located. This will prevent any damage to the models as well as possible injuries on your part.
- Be on the lookout for stray golf balls. The Jurassic Mile is located near the golf course and thus, you might stumble upon a few loose gutty here and there.
Make sure that you are within the nets surrounding the display to avoid getting hit by a stray gutty.
- Traverse the park using a bike if you are aware that walking can easily tire you out. 1 km might not sound like it’s long, but I recommend still keeping cautious of your health and limits.
Changi Airport is a place full of surprises and its Jurassic Mile display is among the crowd favorites. This 1-km-long installment is the perfect place for you to have fun with your friends or family for free.
As long as you follow the park rules and respect the comfort of other park visitors, you will have the time of your life enjoying the view of your favorite pre-historic animals.
