The 5 Best Driving Schools in Singapore

How We Picked

Vehicles Available

We checked the types of cars available for classes at these institutions. Students should practice driving in a vehicle that is similar to the type of car they will be driving on their own.

Cost

We also checked the prices of each establishment’s driving lessons and other services. A better score means a higher value for customers.

Passing Rate

We also learned about each school’s pass rate. A high passing percentage suggests that the school’s education is effective in preparing students for the driving test.

Availability

We checked each school’s availability. A school that provides a range of class times and scheduling alternatives can help students fit lessons into their hectic schedules.

  • Specialized instructors
  • Safety focus
  • Offers corporate training

Cons

  • Pricey
  • No walk-ins

ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, also known as CDC, is a driving school in Ubi Avenue, Singapore that offers a variety of services to people who need to get their driver’s license.

What makes this establishment notable is its many options for driving courses. The CDC offers motorcar courses, motorbike courses, and other specialized courses.

Another great thing about this establishment is its foreign license conversion services. If you already know how to drive and have your own license and you need to drive your vehicle in another country, this is a great option.

We love how its driving facility is large enough to fit multiple vehicles. Practice and training can be done simultaneously with other students without bothering each other.

The instructors are experts in what they do so the school has a high passing rate. It’s great how the establishment prioritizes safety over speed.

However, it should be noted that the institution is expensive and may be out of reach for some students. Furthermore, because the school does not accept walk-ins, students must schedule their classes in advance

Cons

  • Pricey

If you’re looking to obtain your driving license, another great option is the SSDC or the Singapore Safety Driving Centre, which is based in Woodlands Industrial Park.

The services offered by the establishment include motorcar courses, motorcycle courses, heavy vehicle courses, and more.

We like how it emphasizes safety education. With this in mind, it has made every effort to provide students with the best facilities and instructions for road safety training.

For qualifying license holders, the school also offers defensive driving and riding lessons, as well as refresher driving courses. It was even awarded the contract to create Woodlands’ first multi-story driving course, which opened in 2010.

The facility includes a 3-story driving track, a 5-story administration building, and theory lecture rooms, allowing for training and testing for all licensing classes.

We also appreciate the convenience brought by the SSDC’s e-enrolment system. Instead of visiting the school and falling in line for a long time, potential students can just enroll themselves online.

The only real drawback of the school is its pricey rates for some courses. However, with the many services it offers, it’s still one of the best options when it comes to driving lessons in the city.

Pros

  • Multiple courses available
  • Experienced instructors
  • International standard
  • Home-based theory lessons
  • Online enrolment

Cons

  • Pricey

The Bukit Batok Driving Centre is known for its wide range of driving and riding courses. Ever since its foundation, it has been promoting road safety and providing effective safety measures when it comes to teaching driving.

Some of the training programs offered by this school have been around since the 1990s so it’s safe to say that the school has definitely withstood the test of time.

One of the main advantages of Bukit Batok Driving Centre is the variety of courses it offers. It provides motorcar and motorcycle courses, bus driver’s vocational license courses, re-training courses, defensive driving courses, and more.

We’d also like to commend the establishment for its efforts when it comes to keeping its instructors updated. Its teachers undergo yearly skill evaluations on driving, riding, and motoring theory to keep their knowledge up-to-date.

The school has also worked with other establishments from other countries in Asia like Japan to develop and enhance step-by-step training manuals based on Singapore traffic regulations and traffic conditions.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to learn from this establishment because of its steep pricing. However, when it comes to education standards and safety precautions, it’s definitely one of the best choices.

4. Pan Country Driving Centre

Pros

  • Good option for heavy vehicles
  • Modularized training
  • Experienced instructors
  • Multiple vehicles available

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Heavy vehicles only

The Pan Country Driving Centre is a Singapore driving school that has been teaching drivers since the 1980s.

The school focuses on heavy vehicle training and has a fleet of over 40 vehicles to conduct classes on, including lorries and cranes.

The modularized training option, which allows students to take lessons in smaller chunks and at their own pace, is one of the key benefits of PCDC. This is especially useful for those who are pressed for time due to work or other obligations.

Additionally, the school’s partnership with Singapore Safety Driving Centre Ltd (SSDC) in 2010 provides PCDC students with access to SSDC’s facilities and benefits, such as free shuttle services to and from a nearby MRT station and an in-house cafeteria.

However, one of the potential drawbacks is that the school only offers training for heavy vehicles. Additionally, the rates at the school can be steep, especially for students who need to take multiple courses.

Overall, Pan Country Driving Centre is a fantastic choice for heavy vehicle instruction with knowledgeable instructors and a variety of vehicles to practice on.

However, the institution may not be the greatest fit for students looking for Class 1 and Class 2 lessons.

If you already know how to drive but need a refresher course, Car Refresher Course Centre is the perfect establishment for you.

It is a top driving school in Singapore that specializes in delivering refresher lessons for people who haven’t driven in a while and have lost confidence in their abilities.

It was founded in 2008 and has since been dedicated to assisting individuals in improving their driving confidence and skills.

CRCC’s driving refresher classes are designed to help people learn to drive and park confidently again, without stress or fear.

The driving center conducts its classes in the student’s own automobile or the driving center’s car to boost the student’s confidence. This assures that the learner may operate their own car after completing the course.

CRCC’s excellent teachers are one of the school’s key strengths. All its teachers have at least 20 years of experience and are frequently trained in a variety of motor vehicle programs.

It also offers a range of more specific courses including road safety, expressway driving, vertical and parallel parking, and more. It also provides free education through YouTube with its parking and driving lessons available to view there.

However, it does have some limitations. The center does not accept walk-ins, and it does not provide lessons for people with zero driving experience.
