Pros

  • Extensive and economical funeral package
  • Hospital to home transportation service
  • 6-month-long grave maintenance service
  • Grave monument construction

Cons

  • Limited staff members

Jasa Budi Muslim Casket is a company that redefines proficiency. With its team of 8 full time staff members, what it lacks in manpower, it makes up for in its repertoire of services.

It’s one of the few Malay funeral services that offer hospital to home transportation service.

This is on top of its funeral packages being highly affordable, which we consider its edge against other funeral homes, as this makes its package fuller than the rest.

This hospital to home transportation service is one among the only two funeral packages it offers, with the key difference between the two being this exact hospital-home service we heavily put an emphasis on.

While this service technically works as an add-on, it goes without saying that it saves a lot of time and allows for a more prompt funeral rites preparation.

It’s economical for families who don’t have their own vehicles.

Jasa Budi Muslim Casket’s basic package, meanwhile, is pretty standard, covering the basics to perform the rites.

It’s inclusive of free drinks for the families, though, and a bus transport that gives you the option to stop at a mosque before proceeding to the burial grounds.

You can rest assured that the cheaper rates don’t mean cheaper services.

Additionally, its funeral package also features grave maintenance for 6 months, so you know that your loved one is being taken care of even when you’re away.

It also offers grave monument construction, though as a separate service.

On the whole, we think Jasa Budi Muslim Casket should be on everyone’s list, especially if you’re struggling with a budget. You’ll find its services worth every penny.

Pros

  • Comprehensive funeral package
  • Budget-friendly and transparent rate
  • Member of Association of Funeral Directors (Singapore)

Cons

  • Limited funeral package options
  • Package exclusive of Batik cloth, towels, and flowers
  • Limited online appointment-booking options

A household name among Muslim funeral homes in Singapore, Singapore Muslim Casket has been a loyal friend to the Malay Muslim community for over 40 years.

When it comes to arranging traditional rites, we look to a service’s history for a hint at its expertise.

Indeed, Singapore Muslim Casket has properly grasped the intricacies of Islamic funeral rites, so that it can tweak them respectfully if the situation calls for it.

As a matter of fact, Singapore Muslim Casket can walk you through the small adjustments in rites if the cause of death of the deceased falls under a special case, such as an infectious disease.

No matter if you need assistance in preparing a regular funeral or something fine-tuned to your needs, Singapore Muslim Casket offers a single package already inclusive of everything you might need.

Although we’d like to note that while Singapore Muslim Casket can perform the bathing and shrouding rites, its package is exclusive of the Batik cloth for the deceased, as well as towels and flowers.

Other than these items, Singapore Muslim Casket is fully equipped to aid you in sending off your loved one without having to worry about expenses.

Its association with other funeral directors across the island also gives it an edge when it comes to repatriation services.

This gives bereaved families overseas an option whether they want their loved one’s remains repatriated via air, land, or sea travel.

All in all, we believe Singapore Muslim Casket is the safest choice for families whose loved ones died of natural illness.

Additionally, if you’re a person who trusts a service provider’s experience, you should consider Singapore Muslim Casket as well.

Though we do have to point out a single flaw that the company struggles with in an age of digital transactions: it doesn’t allow for online appointment booking or consultations.

Pros

  • Affordable, transparent pricing
  • Prompt delivery of service
  • Offers Badal Hajj packages

Cons

  • Limited funeral package options
  • May have additional charges

Arranging a funeral is a matter of time, especially when you have to observe several rites to ensure that your loved one leaves with dignity.

When it comes to crunching on time and delivering with promptness, we found Khayra Muslim Casket to be a reliable helping hand.

For the past decade, Khayrat Muslim Casket has extended its services to bereaved families, who were more than glad to speak of its smooth-sailing, hassle-free service.

And we certainly understand why.

Khayrat Muslim Casket offers one of the most for a funeral package — which includes all the necessities for the rites and a couple other amenities to look after the bereaved families.

It’s also unique in that it only offers one funeral package, and other services or amenities are added at extra charges.

As opposed to offering different packages with distinct inclusions, this might be pricier, but on the bright side, it allows flexibility for your budget.

For transparency, Khayrat Muslim Casket lists all the inclusions of its package as well as the extra services and fees that you might avail later on, such as food catering and burial fees.

But for us, Khayrat Muslim Casket’s strongest suits come in two shapes. First, there’s its Badal Hajj package which allows a relative to perform Hajj on the deceased’s behalf.

The price for its basic package for Badal Hajj doesn’t fall far from the floor price of its basic Malay funeral package, too, so you can purchase both services at once.

Although, it’s unclear whether doing so would warrant a discount.

Its other strong suit is its overseas service package, which allows repatriation of the deceased whether to or from Singapore, inclusive of embalming and coffin services.

Prices for this service are quoted on a case by case basis.

Furthermore, Khayrat Muslim Casket makes online purchasing of its services possible.

Although that’s a good thing, we did notice that its website isn’t the most comprehensive and easily navigable, albeit it displays basic information and answers a couple questions about its packages.

Overall, Khayrat Muslim Casket allows you to arrange a funeral that covers every rite for a friendly price.

So if you’re looking to arrange a simple funeral for your loved one, Khayrat Muslim Casket would be the right choice for you.

Pros

  • Complete and all-encompassing funeral service
  • Doctor for Certifying Cause of Death (CCOD)
  • Ambulance services
  • Repatriation services

Cons

  • Rates on the pricier scale
  • No option for online appointment booking

Funerals are when we honour our loved one’s freedom from the material world, but it can also be an avenue for learning about community and traditions through the rites we perform.

This is why Pengurusan Jenazah Sinaran Baharu (PJSB), in its every service, advocates for the communal responsibility within the Muslim community, also known as Fardu Kifayah.

Its dedication to raise awareness about the Islamic faith drives its team to provide clients with careful and meticulous services.

Thus, when it comes to making sure every rite is performed with reverence, we can’t recommend PJSB enough.

It also puts emphasis on jenazah management, hence why it has a specialised team solely for this.

If your loved one passed due to infectious diseases, PJSB’s team can advise you how best to handle it.

As such, it also has a doctor on board that can certify your loved one’s cause of death, should you need to avail of that service. It even offers ambulance services!

As for its Malay funeral packages in general — there’s nothing much to pick at.

Of all our entries in this list, PJSB offers the most complete inclusions — from basic funeral necessities to extra services, to even freebies from the company.

Its packages are also categorised to meet its client’s needs.

Aside from its basic funeral package, it also offers extra care packages for loved ones that died due to infectious diseases, or those who have suffered burns or mutilation.

It also has a special package for children and infants.

But while PJSB boasts competitive services, its wide variety of inclusions also mean its rates are pricier than most.

As such, we recommend engaging it if you want an elaborate send-off for your loved one and wouldn’t mind spending extra cash for it.

If you do choose to call on PJSB for assistance, another thing that might interest you is its Badal Hajj (and Umrah) services. It also offers repatriation assistance to those in need.

We’d also like to note that it doesn’t have an option for online appointment booking.

So if you’re looking to reach out to it for a consultation, your best course of action would be via its 24-hour hotline.

Pros

  • One-stop related services
  • Meticulous funeral service
  • Efficient customer service
  • Online consultation and quotation

Cons

  • No transparent package to advertise

The last entry on our list is unique among the others in that it doesn’t list a package.

Rather, Al Kamil Pte Ltd curates a funeral for its clients that primarily follows Islamic funeral rites, and then caters to the client’s needs.

Al Kamil Pte Ltd dedicates itself to delivering a funeral service as according to the Quran and Sunnah, thus engaging its services can also turn into a learning experience for its clients.

While it doesn’t list a comprehensive package for perusal, it does promise a completion of all rites related to jenazah management.

It also doesn’t cut corners when it comes to observing Malay funeral rites.

According to clients we reached out to, Al Kamil Pte Ltd can make a Friday reservation at a mosque hassle-free, all to make sure that it follows every tradition.

It also offers grave maintenance and cleaning services, which could work well with its funeral service. On that tangent, it can also offer landscaping services as well as grave monument deconstruction.

Overall, Al Kamil Pte Ltd is a go-to one-stop funeral home for several in the Malay Muslim community.

With its sunnah-centric philosophy, it’s ideal for people who want to feel closer to their Islamic faith as they send their loved one off.

That said, there’s still a lot that needs improvement when it comes to Al Kamil Pte Ltd’s online presence — such as its less informative website.

Although it does offer online consultations thru it, as well as a fairly active Facebook account you can reach.
