lyf Funan isn’t your typical hotel—it has a cool coliving vibe. You can hang out in shared spaces like the social kitchen, where you can cook your meals, and there’s a gym to keep up with your workouts.

The rooms are modern and comfy, and some even offer great views of places like the Central Fire Station and Fort Canning Park.

Located right above Funan Mall, you have plenty of dining and shopping options just steps away. Plus, it’s super easy to get around with City Hall MRT station and several bus stops close by.

The welcoming vibe extends to the staff, too. Guests we talked to said everyone is friendly and helpful, always ready to solve any problems quickly.

On the flip side, if you’re looking for spacious rooms with a ton of privacy, this might not be your spot. Some travelers might find the shared spaces less appealing if they prefer more seclusion.

Pros

  • Provides coliving vibe
  • Modern and comfy rooms
  • Convenient location
  • Easy access to public transport
  • Friendly and helpful staff

Cons

  • Shared spaces may not appeal to everyone

Perfect for business trips
“I’ve had twice lovely stays at Lyf Funan for my business trips! I stayed for 5 days and Lyf is the perfect choice if you need to work around CBD. At first I chose Lyf Funan because other hotels at Chinatown were fully booked, but hooked by this hotel for its facilities, hygiene, helpful staffs, nice location. Only 10 minute walk to CBD with great views & many route options (you can walk via Clarke Quay or Supreme Court building) Located above Funan mall you also have plenty options for dining & shops. Lyf got shared kitchen, dispensers, gym, all great facilities. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, I got a little trouble in my bathroom and they were quick to fix it. The view from the rooms are also nice, overlooking Central Fire Station building, colorful Old Hill Street building, and Fort Canning Park. Not to mention the transport option, you can access City Hall MRT station just across Funan or via underground tunnel. Lots of nearby bus stations as well. Also very safe if you’re a woman and traveling solo, even at night. Don’t hesitate to stay at Lyf Funan if you plan on visiting singapore 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

Spacious rooms with magnificent city views
“After an 11 hours flight and delays in Singapore airport we arrived at the hotel in a thunderstorm, tired and a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews. However the Lyf crew made us feel so welcome and our room on the 12th floor is very spacious with magnificent views over the city. The best part is that we don’t even have to go outside for food as the hotel is on top of Funan Mall. The launderette is open 24 hours and the receptionists are very helpful in suggesting what to visit and ordering us a taxi when we need one. We may be one of the oldest couples staying here but everyone is so friendly.”

Lloyd’s Inn offers a minimalist and serene environment, which is a breath of fresh air in a bustling city. The rooms are sleek and stylish, with a wonderful balance of simplicity and modernity, ensuring a cozy and comfortable stay.

You can choose from standard rooms to the more spacious Sky Rooms, which come with their very own outdoor bathtub.

One of the highlights is the hotel’s close proximity to popular spots like Orchard Road, so shopping and dining are just a walk away. Plus, the property itself is dotted with lush greenery, making it a mini urban retreat.

When it’s time to relax, you can unwind on the rooftop terrace or take a dip in the dipping pool. There’s also a communal pantry where you can grab your breakfast.

But if you’re looking for a hotel with lots of extras like a large gym, Lloyd’s Inn might feel a bit too simple for you.

Pros

  • Simple and modern
  • Variety of room options
  • Close proximity to popular
  • Property features lush greenery
  • Dipping pool available
  • Communal pantry with breakfast

Cons

  • Lacks extensive amenities

Modern design and natural light
“Staying at Lloyd’s Inn was truly a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a quiet corner yet just minutes from the Orchard Road. The minimalist design creates a sense of calm the moment you step in, with nature all around you. The rooms are modern, and thoughtfully designed, offering plenty of natural light and comfortable amenities. The peaceful rooftop garden and plunge pool were perfect spots to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were sweet, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. If you’re looking for a home away from home in the heart of Singapore, Lloyd’s Inn is an amazing choice. I can’t wait to return!”

Central location, beautiful rooms, and excellent staff
“Lloyd’s Inn is top notch accommodation in a seriously convenient location. We were super central and only a 1km’ish walk or a $10 Grab ride in any direction to everything we wanted to see. The rooms were beautiful, the pool was great and the staff were super friendly. Charmaine in particular was absolutely awesome – She’s super attentive, very knowledgeable and more than happy to help. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 The only improvement would be a secure and private spot for luggage storage! I hope the team can work something out. 🧳🧳”

Santa Grand Hotel East Coast offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for both leisure and business travelers.

The rooms here are well-appointed and come in various types, including deluxe rooms and family rooms, providing options for different needs.

Our favorite spot is their rooftop swimming pool. It’s an awesome place to chill out and enjoy views of the East Coast area.

We think the location is a real win, too! It’s right in the heart of the lively Katong district, where you can dive into rich Peranakan culture and feast on delicious local food. Food places, cafes, and shops are just a hop away.

But it’s worth noting that the hotel doesn’t have an in-house restaurant or a large fitness center, which might be a drawback if those amenities are important to you.

Pros

  • Welcoming atmosphere
  • Ideal for both leisure and business travelers
  • Offers a variety of room types
  • Rooftop swimming pool
  • Prime location

Cons

  • Limited amenities

Stunning rooms and relaxing rooftop pool
“Stay here if you can! We booked after midnight (moving from a disgusting hostel) and the staff were so accommodating. The rooms are stunning, cottage core with amazing beds. The rooftop pool is a lovely escape from the city life and the little cookies in the lobby remind me of my childhood. You are given a lot of discounts for the surrounding area with your keycard. Definitely stay here if you are around! Cannot rate it highly enough”

Warm and welcoming service
“Santa Grand is a gem of a hotel. The superior room although a little cramped was perfect for my parents-in-law who are elderly and who prefer easy access to the bathroom. They enjoyed their stay and were made to feel comfortable and welcomed. A big thank you to all the staff (Christine and the others whose names I did not get, including a male staff who got an additional chair for my parents-in-law). Thank you for your warm service and for a totally pleasant experience for my visitors and for us locals as well. Keep up the great work:)”

M Social Hotel Singapore stands out with its vibrant and artistic vibe designed by Philippe Starck. It’s a great pick for those who love modern design and a lively atmosphere.

The Loft Terrace Room is particularly awesome. It spans two floors, offering a cozy living area and a private terrace garden. These rooms are perfect for anyone who appreciates a unique stay with plenty of space to relax or entertain.

Plus, you’ll enjoy amenities like free in-room WiFi, coffee and tea-making facilities, and an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower.

A guest we chatted with loved the in-house restaurant and the communal area. She mentioned how much she enjoyed the fun events and activities the hotel hosts, making it great for socializing with other travelers.

Just a heads up, though—if you prefer a quieter setting, the energetic vibe at M Social might not be your cup of tea.

Pros

  • Vibrant and artistic design
  • Lively atmosphere
  • Private terrace garden
  • In-house restaurant and communal area
  • Hosts fun events and activities

Cons

  • Energetic vibe may not suit those seeking quiet

Slick, modern rooms with top-notch amenities
“Excellent hotel! Stayed as a guest on behalf of Singapore airlines. Have also had family stay here and love the Leanne concept for the suites. Rooms are designed slick and modern and fully stocked with all you need from coffee machine (and capsules), TWG teas, snacks, toiletries and even an AI concierge. Nothing. Has been forgotten or spared. Breakfast is also lovely presented and spans across a nice spacious dining area facing the riverside flooded with natural sunlight. Service is attentive and friendly and particularly like the day staff who are warm and approachable. Would recommend staying here as it’s in a nice location that is walkable to riverside spots, Great World City shopping centre, etc.”

Nice hotel with good breakfast
“Good hotel for a couple! We came here from Indonesia to do a long stay, the hotel is pretty nice. Though the room is small, the ceiling is high and the window is big, making it less claustrophobic. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed the variety of dishes! The location is also very nice, 20 mins away by walk to Orchard and close proximity to the MRT station!”

Mercure Singapore Bugis is known for its comfort and great location—it blends modern amenities with a bit of local charm.

They offer various room options. For instance, the Signature Room with a Queen Bed is cozy and great for couples, while the Signature Loft Room has a bit more space and a sofa if you need it.

All rooms come well-equipped with free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, and quality linen, ensuring a comfy stay. The location is also amazing—right in the heart of the Bras Basah-Bugis area, known for its rich history and vibrant local culture.

There are some great amenities too, like an infinity lap pool and a 24-hour gym. Plus, the hotel has three distinct restaurants to cater to different tastes, and the Sky Deck offers some stunning city views.

But keep in mind that the rooms might feel a bit compact, especially if you’re used to larger spaces.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Provides modern amenities
  • Offers a variety of room options
  • Infinity lap pool and 24-hour gym
  • Three distinct restaurants

Cons

  • Rooms might feel too compact

Comfortable and clean rooms
“Stayed here for a staycation for 3 nights, and had a good rest all three nights. I really liked the comfort and aesthetics of the room. Room was also clean and comfortable to be in. Housekeeping was prompt and well-done. Some things that could make my experience better would be if there could be more hooks around the bathroom area to hang up my clothes. There was also no space to place hand-towel to wipe my hands/hang up my face towel after use as well. Also, the conversations of people walking past in the corridors could be heard quite clearly. While that is unavoidable, I also overheard conversations between the housekeeping staff (which made me a little uncomfortable as a guest cos they were commenting on other guests) Maybe it might help if they lowered their volume a little? Lobby people were friendly and warm when I redeemed my welcome drinks and I really liked the service. Lobby area was also sufficient and comfortable as well. Would return in the future.”

Clean functional rooms
“I stayed 2 nights in mid November and enjoyed the pool very much after facing the humid heat of Singapore. The rooms are small but functional. The staff is attentive. Breakfast was providing enough variation but the breakfast saloon was extremely cold. I ate at the terrace which was ok for me. The hotel is located right next to Bugis Plus shopping mall which has many restaurants and there is also a 7 Eleven right under the shopping mall which is only 50m away from the hotel. I recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a clean functional room, good service and great location.”
